This is my 1st review on amazon! Ive been buying stuff on amazon for ages but figured it was time to stop being lazy and write a review now and then. I use the reviews other people write but noticed a worrying trend of suspect reviewers i.e one reviewer giving 5 stars to an item and then giving no stars to a rival item/seller with no other reviews on the account,or just a single 5 star review on an account and no other reviews (noticed this while looking for ear plugs not garlic presses). First off i love this item , its so sturdy. Which for some might be a problem , you dont need to be a weight lifter to pick it up but it is very solid which i kinda like. The only reason im giving this 4 and not 5 stars(i changed my mind and gave it 5) is that you do need to give it quite a hard squeeze to get all the garlic out. As its my 1st garlic presser i cant really compare it to others but i do plan on getting another brand for my mom who finds it a little hard work to use though she likes it a lot to and doesnt chop garlic any more - she uses this so it cant be that bad for her. Im no muscle man and i find it pretty easy to use. You dont have to peel the garlic to use it but i peel a little down one side and place it that side facing down/towards the holes. You can peel/press more then one garlic at a time as the space provided is pretty big , i do two at a time a lot but this does require a little more strength. Its also pretty handy for crushing peeled ginger but that can leave a little pulp wasted(which can be pushed though by pressing a garlic after the ginger). It SO easy to clean thanks to a clever method of inverting the press which was one of the main reasons i got it and as i said i like the sturdyness and chrome finish. Well thats the end of my 1st review on amazon , i think there will be many more to come as ive never had a problem with amazon yet (touch wood). Oh it arrived very fast on the free super saver and was well packaged. Actually ive changed my mind im giving it 5 stars but be aware of the very slight strength issue some might have. P.s Had this about 3 months now and its still going strong/in as new condition.

When you watch Jamie Oliver make a meal he puts a whole clove of garlic in his crusher, skin and all and squeezes it out. It can be a little pain having to peel the skin off for a normal crusher. But this is no normal crusher. It's a workman's garlic crusher, it feels heavy, it is solid, and were it not a kitchen utensil I'd put it in my DIY utility belt to show it off. Simple to use and effective. Drop a couple of cloves in the thing, and crush out the garlic, reverse the crusher and press the nylon tips up the other way and it will push out the remaining bits of garlic so the don't become a hassle washing the thing. Against it may be the weight, if you were a dainty woman you might not want to use it,but you could throw it at your partner and probably cause GBH, which is not recommended. So don't.Recommended for men, who like to dabble in the kitchen every now and again, and for women who just want a crush that works.

A brilliant garlic crusher! I've been using it for two months now and it's better than any of the many crushers I've owed over the years. All a garlic crusher has to do is crush garlic, for pity's sake! How hard can it be? But there's always something the designers have missed. Not in this case, though. This one crushes ALL the garlic - no bits sneaking up the sides. It's dead easy to clean - just flip over the handle once under a running tap and everything comes out. And it is solidly made (my last crusher had fancy matt black handles that looked oh so cool but just couldn't take the strain. The plastic split after six weeks). This thing is clearly going to last, being all steel.NOTE TO ANY INDUSTRIAL DESIGNERS OUT THERE: Thinking of designing a sexy new garlic crusher? Don't bother. It's been done, and this is the result. Better off reinventing the wheel!

I bought this garlic press a couple of months ago when our old, much used one finally broke. It is nicely made, and is extremely efficient at getting the most from the clove, with very little uncrushed garlic remaining in the head after you squeeze. However, it is extremely heavy and (as the picture shows) does not have any padding. You do need some good hand/arm strength to use this crusher. My mother, who is only in her fifties, found that she could not use this garlic press as her hands were not strong enough. She needed a lighter, more cushioned one and so she bought an OXO good grips model which is far easier for her to use.If you have strong hands, this is a good press. But if you have any arthritic problems, or small hands, weak wrists etc then I would say this is not the model for you.

I like to crush ginger to obtain the juice whilst cooking but they don't sell ginger crusher so I always use garlic presses. Because ginger is so tough, and because I like to extract every drip of juice possible I've broken at least 10 garlic presses over the years. They all claim to be tough and made of some clever allow but none of them can take the abuse I put them through. This product however is different.I've owned this for over a year now and it will not break! No matter how badly I treat it, no matter how much ginger I crush, using my entire body weight on the handle this thing just keeps on working. If you've ever had a garlic press break on you before then don't waste another penny and buy this one.You will not be disappointed and it will never let you down.

I bought this after my "old" (ie: about 3 years) garlic press broke. It's rather more expensive than any of the other garlic presses I have bought, but I am so glad I splashed the extra cash.First and foremost, it's heavy, which gives the impression of quality. The handles are smooth and ergonomically designed to fit snugly in your hand. The "bowl" is large, meaning you can fit two large cloves of garlic in at a time, and it presses literally every last scrap of garlic through. Finally it is SO easy to clean - just fold it back and the little pimples push out any leftovers, which you can then add to whatever it is you are cooking. Then simply rinse and dry. Done!I can see that this little baby will last me a long time.Definitely worth investing in one.

I've never seen such efficient and easy to use+clean garlic press. It is a bit expensive but WORTH every penny, seriously. In the past, I've always bought cheaper garlic presses, replacing them regularly (in the end paying more than for this one). Finally I decided to get this garlic press as I really liked that this product had self cleaning head. After quick delivery, when I opened the box, I was really impressed by the design of this product! it looks great. But the best thing is, it works perfectly!!! You would never believe how much garlic you can press out of one clove! self cleaning head works perfectly, too. In few words, it is the product of great design that works perfectly!HIGHLY RECCOMENDED

I got this after the handle on my old press, which I had for years from a kitchen set, broke off. Never having owned or used a professional press before, this is a pleasure to use.A whole clove fits in (I used to have to at least half each clove) and with minimum effort is crushed. The cleaning is simple as there is little in the way of a messy residue remaining; anything left in the cage is easily removed by the rubber bungs (I used to have a detachable cage that got bits stuck around the edges).Overall: It feels solid and well constructed. My only criticism is that the handles could be slightly longer than 11.5cm, because it can be difficult to depress them with wet or oily hands.

Ok.. so this garlic press is pretty expensive - but it is truly worth every penny. I am always amazed at how much garlic I can get from just one clove with this press. Previous garlic presses have pretty much just squashed the garlic into a mush that is a pain to clean - this press, however, provides you with ample amounts of garlic and even has a brilliant 'nodule' section that you can push back through the holes which makes cleaning super-easy! It is quite heavy - but I feel that this just makes you feel like you're using a quality piece of equipment - so I actually like the weight of it!If you cook with garlic you won't be disappointed with this garlic press!

It's a heavy-duty garlic press. I tend to squidge a lot of garlic in one go to put in the freezer (lay it flat on greaseproof paper in your ice cube section until it is frozen, and then break the 'sheet' into a food bag).Getting the last little bit squeezed out can be a bit tough. The cleaning flip is a nice touch, but you're going to want a teaspoon on standby to help. There is a big advantage to the good quality stainless steel: when you wash the garlic press after use, run your hands over the handles for a minute or so - the stainless steel will remove the garlic odour from your fingers!

Been squishing garlic for over 40 years on a near daily basis and recently went back to the chefy knife and salt method due to poor so called "garlic crushers" available.(Tried over 20 in my time)This is BRILL, heavy duty and gets the very last out of the bulb. Cleans easily but would always wash by hand. A dishwasher will kill the finish and eventually destroy the reverse rubber cleaner.Because I use more than one bulb I always skin them but it will crush without removing the skin for a single use.Wish I was a shareholder in this company

At last I've found the ultimate garlic press. No more fiddling about with detachable cages and trying to get them clean - this is the Rolls Royce of the press world. It's heavy and chunky to feel and looks and feels good quality. You simply put a clove in the hollow and squueze the handles together. When you think you've squeezed it squeeze again and more will appear! Then turn the thing back to front and clever little rubber prongs puss out the garlic that's left in the hollow for easy washing. Yes, it's expensive, but worth every penny!

I was a not sure about this product when ordering, as most of these things hardly get any garlic out of a clove. This one is great, gets near every little bit of garlic out of the clove (a really tiny bit of skin with it some times, easily removed) and is really easy to clean. just turn inside out, scrape out the leftover skin with 1 swoop, and run under tap. all done! And you can fit 2 BIG or 3 Medium cloves in it at a time, no need to cut them or anything.

This is a great garlic press.I initially went through the cheap route and bought a press for £3.5 at Waitrose. However you get what you pay for and following the positive review I decide to invest in a better garlic press. The Kitchen Craft Master class did not disappoint and it get every single bit of garlic out of a glove. The finish and material are top notch and it is also very easy to clean.I would never use another garlic press.Buy with confidence!

The press arrived ahead of schedule which is a bonus. I was delighted to find it was extremely well made of good quality materials & easy to handle. I have put it to the test & it does the job admirably, especially when reversed the little plastic/rubber nodules push the remaining bits of garlic through the holes, plus the shape lends itself to simplifying the cleaning process. Not cheap to buy but worth paying out for.
