I bought the "Jolly Egg," largest size, because I have a very strong pitbull. Finding toys for this big boy is near impossible. He did well with the ball, and only succeeding in adding two puncture holes. This was no big deal. He did not want to give the ball up--he loved this. (After the next dog crushed the egg, we think the first did not because his teeth are worn down from gnawing on a metal chain (he is a rescue dog, once kept on an outside chain most of the time.)Then gave it to another pit, in later stage of puppy-hood but strong. Took video of him playing, which I forgot to do with first dog. At 1:23--one minute and 23 seconds--this dog was running around, carrying the ball with him.He had made puncture holes across from each other, and then put one upper and one lower tooth in a hole for leverage. Smart. This is okay, but what happened next actually surprised me, considering the reviews I read. My dog crushed the ball simply by closing his mouth. He has strong jaws. This is not the dog I thought would possibly destroy this "undestructable" toy. Here is the best part, I contacted the company, and was told to send a picture of the ball and they would replace it or refund. This was a few weeks ago and I misplaced the camera card. It was found a few days ago, so I will send them the pictures this week. If I have any problems I will add an addition to the review. By the sounds of it there will not be an issue. The woman in customer service sounded nice. One note: customer service did say the say the description of the Jolly Egg should NOT say "guaranteed indestructible,m" which it did say at the time I purchased the egg. Will add photos soon.

Our 45-pound terrier mix is the type to get obsessed with toys or tasks. He seems to think that if we're outside, we should be playing with the Chuckit! In fact, that's the reason we thought to buy this -- to give him something to do on his own.At first, I didn't think he or the 85-pound Golden would be interested, but I kept putting it on the floor and telling him to go for it. After awhile, he was chasing it down the hall, rolling it, and barking at it. You could tell it drove him nuts that he couldn't pick it up or move it exactly how he wanted. I imagine that's a big key here -- the large (12") size is way too big for the 45# dog to get his mouth around. The golden retriever couldn't, either, but he never seemed to be interested. The next day, I filled up the dog pool while doing yard work and tossed the Jolly Egg in. The laughs we had at the ensuing display was worth the cost of the toy.We can only let him have it for so long because we don't want the play/frustrated barking to bug the neighbors. And since we have a small, fenced-in yard, we kind of need to keep an eye on things because at one point, he had this egg jammed between the lines to the air conditioner and the side of the house.I've recommended it to several friends and I would buy it or similar toys again -- even if only one of the two dogs pay play with it.

We ordered the Jolly Egg because we had purchased the Jolly Push N Play years ago and our boxer loved it. She would push it around the yard for hours. We have a Vizsla puppy now that is just as high strung and toy damaging (I think more so)as our Boxer was but she likes things that puzzle her as much as she enjoys destroying things. Both the Jolly Egg and the Jolly Push N Play are solid hard plastic. The main purpose of both these items is that they are too big, too solid and too smooth for the dogs to pick up with their mouths so they push them around the yard for hours keeping themselves occupied. Both my Vizsla and Boxer had the ability to carry soccer balls in their mouths with no problems. The 8" & 6" Push N Play were perfect in size and the large Egg. The medium egg is more funny to watch them play with because every once in awhile the Vizsla will actually get it in her mouth start running back to us because she is so excited and it will squirt out the side of her mouth and she has to start all over. When it happens she just stops and looks at us like we were the cause of her loosing it because it could not have possibly been here.I will post a video of both items if I get a chance.

My 7-month-old Min-Pin mix Violet has chewed up every toy I've ever gotten her in minutes. Not hours or days, but minutes. She can tear apart a tennis ball in about 5 minutes. I've probably spent $75 on dog toys in the hopes of finding something that will hold her attention and last more than 15 minutes. The Jolly Egg is the first toy I've ever found that keeps her occupied for long periods of time and comes out with little more than some faint scratches on it. Its hard plastic and large size prevents her from locking her tiny yet powerful jaws on it. Instead of grabbing and chewing it squirts right out of her mouth (that's what she said) and goes launching across the room for her to chase. It by far is her favorite toy for the challenge it presents her. The only con I can say about this toy is that it can be a little noisy when it bounces off the wall, but turn up the volume on the TV a little and you won't even notice it. I would steer away anyone who has hardwood or tile floors since the clattering of this toy might be a little too much, but if you've got carpet and an energetic pup you should go all in on this toy.

We have two pitbulls; one is 59 pounds and one is 79 pounds. Both absolutely love this toy! Our smaller guy could play with this for hours... and even though he's figured out how to pin it down, the 12-in egg is still too big for him to get a grip on it for more than 10 seconds or so. He wears himself out with this toy and is all smiles the entire time. Our big guy (who has a bigger head and mouth) loves it too; however, he's the reason I've given this 4 stars instead of 5. He quickly figured out how to pin this down and bite it, and due to his size, he's actually able get his mouth around it and sink his teeth into the egg, puncturing the plastic. He has to be monitored more closely with this, and we have to chase him with it and try to get it out from under his paws for it to provide more "active" play. If the company would introduce a 16-in egg, I'm sure I'd give it 5 stars! I t think it's just a little too small for a big headed dog. All-in-all a great purchase for a decent price. Perhaps our 79-pound boy would do better with a round jolly ball.

My Australian Cattle Dog mix would take this toy everywhere with him if he could-- he absolutely loves it! It's legitimately one of the only toys I've ever bought for him (and I buy him a ton of toys to keep him from tearing up the house) that he hasn't really been able to break apart or chew to shreds. The dog freakin loves to chase it around and balance on it-- he stands by the door every day to go outside and play with it. He gets really rowdy with it and it's a good thing for him to play with to burn off some of his never-ending energy. He can fit it in his mouth and carry it around but it takes him a little bit of time to pick it up just right (he's 32 pds and medium size),so I think if I got him another one I'd get the bigger version. The only problem is that it's ridiculously loud-- NOTE TO BUYER: this toy is not for an apartment dog-- you will want the dog to be outside to play with it. Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints! This is a different, fun toy that any high energy little guy will love! I highly recommend.

We probably spend about $100 a month on toys for our fur kids and end up tossing 60% percent or so because they're ripped the stuffing out or the frisbees are so chewed that they just don't fly. I purchased this item as well as the jolly ball with the rope in it and can't believe I've just now discovered these magical toys. I have THREE border collies with 24/7 play drive. Although they aren't super tough chewers, they do like to rip apart stuffed animals as a team. We often buy rubber toys and they're only amused for the first hour and then it sits around at the bottom of their toy basket forever. These jolly toys keep them entertained for hours (not exaggerating -- hours!).Since they aren't able to pick it up in their mouths due to the egg's size, they nose and herd it around the yard like a bunch of maniacs and do not stop until I call them inside or put the toy up. It is definitely an outdoor toy along with the jolly ball/rope. Highly recommend. I normally never take the time to write reviews but hopefully this helps someone else!

I have a large pit bull/boxer mix. He plays hard like a boxer and has all their bouncy energy and enthusiasm, with the strength of a pit. He LOVES his yellow Jolly egg, and plays extremely hard with it as often as he can. He's destroyed many "indestructable" toys within minutes, but the Jolly egg takes its beatings and comes back for more. He's gouged it with both teeth and nails, and managed to get a few punctures at the narrow end, but nothing affects the playability of the egg or my dog's enjoyment of it. Because of the size, he has to wedge it into a corner in order to try & get a hold on it. This is very difficult, and it almost always pops out of the corner so he can go chasing it again. He loves to hook his nose under it, lift and toss the egg. The Jolly egg is the only thing that wears him out enough for him to take a break during the day. This is a must-have toy for big dogs who are more than rough with every other toy.

The toy itself is pretty awesome and well constructed but my dog didn't get it. He's an Australian Shepherd and since all of my previous herders loved toys like this I thought it would be a no brainer. I rolled it across the yard bowling style and he chased it down a hill but once it hit the area of my back yard that flattens out, it stopped moving and so did my dog. I tried for over a week to teach him to play with it soccer style but my dog wanted nothing to do with it and honestly I was tired of throwing the damn thing and then having to chase after it myself. (Don't try kicking it...you'll regret it)I ended up giving this to my parents for their English Bulldog and they tell me he is in love with the egg and it's holding up well to his abuse both inside and outside of the house. As for my dog, I invested in one of those cheap off road RC trucks for him to chase and it wears him out beautifully.

After 2 years of abuse our Jolly Egg is still going strong. My now 3yr old German Shepherd LOVES her "Easter Egg"! We have tossed it in the pool in the summer for floating fun and she has chased it over about every solid surface we have ( and some not so solid surfaces!) If there is ANY negative for this I would say that it will drive you batty if you let your energetic 1 yr old GSD play with it in the house. After she realized that it squirted along the kitchen tile much faster than the carpet, there was no where else she wanted to be with it... However dog and hard plastic egg slamming into your kitchen cabinets repeatedly for hours on end gets old!!! She is so addicted to this thing, that I have to lock it up in the kennel run if I am trying to get her to go potty in a timely manner...if not she gets so into playing she forgets that you were on a time schedule!

This hard plastic egg shaped toy, while not indestructible, is good fun for dogs - my german shepherd managed to get her teeth through it in fairly short order, and although it got badly scuffed, very quickly, it didn't affect it's playing qualities. The main advantage is that it can be thrown, like a rugby ball, and it will bounce and roll erratically, so the dog can't predict which way it will go, so it's good for keeping their focus, especially if they're playing footie with it.My old girl really liked this toy, it was a firm favourite and she played with it for months. It had to be retired in the end because occasionally she'd get a canine tooth stuck in one of the previous punctures she'd made, and it was difficult for her to release it.But it's worth buying for the erratic nature of its rolling mechanics if you have a dog that likes to play nicely.

Absolutely love this. I got the biggest one, I think 10 in maybe for my Belgian Mal puppy (4 months). I was skeptical but as soon as I set it down she went wild for it. It's hard plastic and big so she cannot pick it up with her mouth. This drives her nuts so she paws at it which makes it move. Since it is egg shaped if moves in weird ways and that just make her go more crazy. She makes a big, loud, scene pushing it all over the backyard. You would think there's drugs hidden inside it or something the way she carries on. The downside is that she is so fixated on this toy that she barrels herself and the toy through everything so I only allow her to use it outside and even then she has knocked over chairs and broken malibu lights. And since it is hard plastic it does hurt if it runs into you. One more downside … when I have to take it away from her.

I have eight dogs and they all play with this toy. They range in size from 40-80 lbs. and the toy has withstood already about a month of their rough-housing! Most toys are gone within a day - either eaten or destroyed. The color is obvious so you don't run it over when mowing the lawn, too - a BIG plus! Some of them LOVE it (about 5), but all of them like it. It's great because it's something they all enjoy and it lasts. Given the price of dog toys and the number of dogs I have, it's a very good use of money. It's also great exercise for them and doesn't really require human interaction to make it interesting, although some will only play with it if prodded (but, I think that's an issue the dog has,not the toy). I'll be buying at least 2 more for my dogs, 1 for my neighbors, and probably several more for other friends' dogs (as gifts).

Cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I was when I opened the box and saw this massive (in relation to my small terrier) egg, which was described as being for small to medium dogs. However, it was still in the package, and my dog WANTED it, pawing and jumping at it in my hands. This egg is seriously bigger then his head (it's probably half his size), yet he will chase it all over the house for a good 10-20 minutes, then collapse in exhaustion, lol! He can't ever get his mouth on it, which he tries desperately to do, and the act of that pushes it all over the place, and he's right there with it. It does frustrate him, and he growls and occasionally whines, we have taken it away from him occasionally. It is so perfect for a dog who can get bored and needs extra stimulation.

Bought this egg because our terrier is very high energy and destroys all her toys. She goes bonkers with this thing and chases it all over the living room and will cry when it gets stuck under furniture. We usually give it to her in the evening for about 15-20 minutes and she's panting by the time we take it away. It is loud because all of her chasing and bumping it everywhere but I think it might be her favorite toy and I like watching her play with it. I got the 8-inch but I might get the next size up next time because she has figured out that she can pin it in a certain way and is able to pick it up sometimes (she's chewed the small end a little),but she can't do it all the time and this thing has lasted longer than all of the other toys she has.
