Everything about this Jamie Oliver Carving Board is excellent, Pukka even. The board is one of those you buy and it will outlast all of us and still look good. It's solid wood and big enough to have two chickens or a large turkey. So most joints would be a doddle to carve on.Now the weight is good. Unlike out steel carving dishes, this one will not slide about so you don't need those spikes that thinner boards have. The board has really useful features that make this an indispensable tool to use.The board has deep carve groves and a well. These collect the juices from the meat and you can easily pour the juices via a groove in the board to make gravies and the like. Most savvy cooks allow the jointto rest after cooking and this is where those grooves really come into their own collecting all those juices in the well.Of course, you can reverse the board and use the other side. It makes a fabulous cheeseboard. This board would make a great wedding present and if you either have or know someone with a wood burning/etching kit you could add a suitable engraving or message.|All in all this is a well designed, solid, a lifetime of use carving board.Enjoy.

This is a great size for a big piece of meat or even a turkey. It’s around 46x34x2.5 and carved out of 2kg of solid acacia (solid slats glued together, that is, six slats in my case). The grooves and capacious well do a terrific job of draining juices away, and the lip on the well makes it easy to add the juices to the gravy.Cleaning the grooves is a bit tricky but that’s to be expected. We just wipe them out with kitchen roll. We maintain the board with butchers block oil such as Catskill, as with all our wooden boards. The instructions suggest olive oil but that tends to leave a sticky residue after a while. We’re delighted with this. Our Joseph Joseph plastic carving board was looking a real mess – when you carve through meat, you also tend to cut through the plastic spikes, making them look a mess and very difficult to clean. This wooden board is the one to buy, as long as you have space to store it.PS After the first couple of washes (not soakings, just wiping down with hot soapy water to remove fat/grease), the wood grain was raised and the surface rough. I sanded it lightly before oiling, which brought it back to near-original condition.

This is a fantastically huge carving board, perfect for the largest of roasts - roast turkey or goose would comfortably fit on here. Our first roast was a small joint of beef for four people (sadly, overcooked and shrunken), plonked in the middle, the board making it appear even smaller. If you don't regularly cook large roasts, this is probably going to be overkill for you. If, however, you like to prepare a few large roasts a year, this is perfect for carving them on and also looks good enough to present them on.The grooves in the board are intended to channel meat juices into the bowl, from where they can be tipped into another receptacle, perhaps for making gravy from. The collection bowl is smallish - the size of a finger bowl - so if you have a very juicy joint, it might require a couple of emptyings. The board requires a little care, with an initial oiling and occasional re-oilings - we used olive oil. It's sturdy and chunky, so with a bit of care should last years and years.I like the aesthetic of the board, it's solid and practical, with a lovely appearance from the wood grain.

Beautiful acacia wood carving/chopping board. It really looks authentic & the wood is very aesthetic. It’s recommended to preserve it before first use with oil (there’s special oils for this; however I wouldn’t use olive oil as is suggested). This board has 2 sides, one for meat with juice part to collect the juice from craving meat to make gravies etc which does a wonderful job plus it even has a pouring spout on the juicer to pour it out.The other side is for veg & fruit or even a cheese board as it’s quite large. Another great thing about this board is you know which side is for fruit/veg & which for meat {it’s been said that for hygiene not use the same board for both)so you have 2 boards in 1 !Dimensions are:Width=34cmLength=46cmThickness=2.5cmWeight=2kgPS. I think it’d be an improvement if they provided a little bottle of kitchen board oil with it as if someone forgets to put it on, it’s a waste of a beautiful piece of wood.

This is a super carving board, a really generous size that will take your Christmas turkey, a big rib of beef etc. The beautiful acacia wood board has deep grooves for the juices to drain into, and they all end up in the cunning little well at one corner . This has a pouring lip so you can slosh all those tasty bits into your gravy pan. The grooves can be quickly cleaned out with some kitchen roll, and the board itself should be hand washed with soapy water. The reverse side is smooth and flat, ideal for chopping vegetables etc in large quantities. The whole thing is thick and solid, so no slipping about. We use Catskill oil purchased from Amazon to renew the look of our wooden boards - you can use olive oil but this special butcher's block oil is more inert and is quickly absorbed into the wood. It will last you forever.

A carving board so beautiful it seems a shame to actually use it! It's big and chunky, suitable for even large roasts. This board is made from several large slabs of acacia wood glued together. It looks superb. This board functions well at collecting meat juices, which can easily be poured into your gravy. Alternatively you can use the reverse of the board for chopping vegetables or bread etc. This board is not dishwasher safe, but that's what you'd expect. You can oil the board using olive oil, though you may get better results from a specialised oil. See the photo for more details from the product label.I wouldn't normally buy celebrity branded products, but at its current price of £29.99,it seems like good value, especially considering how attractive it is.

I've bought a few Jamie Oliver kitchen items over the years, (the nicest being some wine glasses) and this carving board is of the style and quality you'd expect him to put his name to. You get a sturdy, weighty board in an attractive natural wood, that sits on your kitchen side without moving around too much when is use. We used this to rest and carve a joint of beef and the grooves and circular well in the corner allowed the juices to drain off perfectly. It was easy to carve on and whilst the grooves were a little fiddly, it was relatively easy to clean as well. All in all an attractive, functional carving board for your kitchen.

This is a substantial carving board made of very hard wearing acacia wood. Of course as a natural product there are always going to be variations in the wood. Mine has a couple of quite significant areas of very pale, almost white, wood which (for me) just detract from its attractiveness. I decided it would be churlish for me to dock it a star in this review for that. That apart this is a very effective and functional item which if looked after properly will give years of excellent service. It can also be used on the “reverse” side as a normal functional chopping board for which it is excellent.

I love this board. Its big enough to hold a large joint or turkey. It has nice deep grooves to collect the fat which then runs into its carved out bowl which has a channel to drain away the fat and juices. The board is made from a lovely thick chunky piece of wood. I have used butchers oil on mine prior to using to protect it and prolong its life which I predict will out live me. The reverse side of the board is smooth for all other chopping in the kitchen. It looks good on my worktop and several people have commented on it.

This Jamie Oliver Joint carving board is absolutely brilliant!. We roasted a joint of beef. Placed it on the bard and left it covered in foil. After an hour we cared. The juices run into the pool. We then lifted the board and poured them into the roasting pan to make the gravy. The board is large. It’s not small and fiddly like some are.For the price you really can’t go wrong. This will last an absolute age. We turned the bard and use it to cut the vegetables on.

Beautiful dual purpose carving board. Really nice quality wood, with very attractive staining, so nice to look at it and an attractive part of the kitchen.Functionally though, even better, one flat side for serving or for use as a chopping board. The main side is great as a carving board though. Extra large for those big joints, and good deep hollow grooves leading to a well (with a spout), so no need to worry about making a mess.Great product.

This is a good quality board which is larger than the norm and which represents good value for money.I am using the underside as a cheeseboard as it is large enough to accommodate grapes as well as a decent variety of cheeses. This side also looks rather impressive too, as there is a small logo which adds to the appearance of the item.It would make a lovely present if one could bear to part with it - definitely 5 stars!

I like this, it has large drain gutters - clearly has a profesional chef's design input. It has a large reservoir to stop the meat juices spilling over. A small concern is the thickness of the wood where the reservoir is, I will update if this is an issue. The carving board arrived undamaged and without any manufacturing defects, the overall finish was fine. Hopefully this will last a lifetime.

A rather hefty carving board - good for big joints of roast meat and the grooves in the wood allow the meat juices to flow into the hollow. The board is also nice to present food on once it has been carved. The reverse of the board is smooth, so can be used as a chopping board and it is a decent size to work with. The wood is quite streaky and is acacia and is quite solid an very presentable.

Wow, this is a *sizeable* board for your Sunday roast! It's also very sturdily constructed, and feels robust enough to be used years into your family's future (something that, I think, justifies the higher price of this one - you won't need to replace it for a long time!). As with any wooden kitchen implement, it's recommended buying something to coat it with, though, and Amazon recommends
