I compared lots of boards, but for the sake of simplicity, here are 3 contenders:- Architec G14-WW Gripper board (plastic and rubber all the way below): Bottom grip/friction is about 70% (when 100% is completely stuck and 0% is freely sliding), regardless of if the composite countertop is wet or not. A good board, expensive but doesn't wobble so this seems to be the most professional grade plastic board available.- KitchenCraft Colourworks Polyethylene Reversible Cutting Board: Grip/friction is about 30%. Doesn't sound a lot, but that's already pretty good. Doesn't slide all over the place. The grip is somewhat decent regardless of countertop being wet or not.Lightyears ahead compared to no rubber at all.- Ikea's cheap all plastic board: Grip/friction score 2%. Slides all over the place. Otherwise fine, no problems, although the surface is not as nice as on the previous products. However, as boards with feet (like this KitchenCraft) are lifted upwards, it means the board is bouncy. Although not consistently bouncy. After opening the package, the board was curved so that on one side the bottom precisely touches the countertop, on the other side there's a considerable dip. So the other side doesn't have much of noticeable bounciness (still rubbers touch so that it also doesn't slide all over). But the other side bounces, which is not acceptable for a serious cook. So I tried to bend it. Used a lot of force for a few seconds. Absolutely nothing happened. However, I suspect if I put it in the washing machine, on very high heat setting, washing mainly from one side, it'll possibly change the curve. Not sure. In any case, it seems it's not possible to uncurve it just by bending by hand. There is a decent solution to the bounciness. Of course some towels or rubber mats would do, but who wants more items to clean up. You can, however, also use rubber bands. One will help, but 3–6 rubber bands will completely stop bounciness and also add grip. However, you of course need thin enough rubber bands, placing them nicely (big balls of rubber bands will be too high), so that's also too much work. But, rubber bands are pretty good if you get annoyed about the bounciness. (Maybe white bands for a white board so that it doesn't show through so much.)I would recommend this KitchenCraft board for something like summer cabins or other secondary locations. The price is ok, the features are pretty nice, this board seems to outperform a good bunch of competitors. For our kitchen, this is a good secondary board, but not the first choice.EDIT: I noticed that heavier objects on the board will increase grip substantially. So if you have say 1 kg on top of the board, the grip is pretty stable. Of course, you will often have there just a few carrots, so the grip will be slightly off, but still better than without rubber. KitchenCraft is less noisy than Architec. No board is perfect.

This is a great chopping board! The white part is made from a moderately hard plastic which is just right in hardness, not too hard and not too soft. When you chop items on it, the knife cuts through the items and impacts the board with exactly the right tension and feel. You will know what I mean if you have used a glass chopping board : ). Also, you don't get big gouges cut into the plastic even when it has been used for a while - you get thin score lines which is great as it is more hygienic. Also, the write up is correct, the board is gentle on blades - I have had to sharpen my knives less often since using this board. I found, for me personally, the sound made when the knife impacts the board,to be acceptable - harder chopping boards are too noisy, soft chopping boards can be less hygienic, in my humble opinion. The green part on the edge of the board seems to be a soft (heat resistant?) rubber which definitely works as a means to stop the board from slipping around. The size of the board is perfect and I would definitely recommend this item and I will be being it again!

This is the second one I have bought, as I love it so much! I originally had a large, heavy, solid wooden chopping board which I did not get along with. Given the price I paid for the wooden board I persevered for years, scrubbing and oiling it, and could never get rid of the unusual odours that gradually got worse. Eventually I gave up and finally got rid of it, and replaced it with this fabulous chopping board. It is easy to fling in a bowl of soapy hot water and give a proper good scrub, and has not stained despite the amount of work it has already been asked to do. The colourful rubber ends means that is does not slip around when in use, and it is compact enough to stand on end in the pan cupboard rather than leaving out on the worktop. Finally, although not a useful feature, the orange colour makes me happy! The first board I bought (in green that time - I do like colour!) is still in constant rotation as well, I only bought a second for when I am having a huge cooking session. If I ever needed a third I would choose this one again!

I have a couple of boards already and they were looking pretty sorry for themselves. So I needed some boards and I wanted to do the right thing, and get one for meats, bread, vegetables etc. This range allows me to have a similar style with a band at the top and bottom to distinguish between them. Simple and clean cut.The quality seems good. But, I drop them one star because when you look at the colour bands, which seems to be molded around the the white board inner core, the edges are little messy in places, which let it down a little. I.e overlap of colour on the white band, which resembles a flap of sorts. Although these can be tidied up, its something I wish was done before I got it.A strong board, which had good grip and of good size. I don't have a dish washer but if I did I could clean them up in it!So once I removed the flap, I consider them a five star item, it's just I received them as a four star product! Hence the score! However, they are pretty good and I would recommend them.

I've had this chopping board for 6 months now, and use it all the time. It's better than any other board I have used, including the TopGourmet which cost three times as much and looks tatty and old already, and has no practical features. The non slip element is excellent, it never moves an inch when you are working on it, and if you lean it up against the wall to leave it to dry etc, it won't slip over.It also looks very attractive, and even though it now has a number of knife scratch marks, it doesn't show much in the white plastic. One side of the board has a little groove all the way round to stop liquid from running etc onto your worktops, which is handy when chopping something particularly messy such as a pineapple. It has been in the dishwasher many times and cleans up a treat.

I bought 3 of these boards (red, blue & green) as like for like replacements for those already in use on my boat. I enjoy cooking so the boards are well used (I use same boards at home), eventually they become so scored with knife cuts that they become difficult to clean & can look unsightly. Hence the need for replacements, after 3 years of continuous use; no complaints whatsoever! I don’t like using hard glass or certain other types of board as they dull the edges of my knifes and the ‘screeching’ drives me crazy! They also don’t move around due to the rubberised edges.

Have been using this product since Mar 2017. We had been looking for a suitable chopping board for ages and settled for several of these in different colours. They are a good practical size with a little trough all round on one side to collect juices etc. They grip the worktop and do not slide about which was a problem with other boards we had. They go in the dishwasher nearly every day and have kept their shape and grip completely. You will get knife marks, but how could you not?I like reviews done after a buyer has had the product for a while so I recommend these.

Love these chopping boards - I have owned several already and just came back to buy this one as an extra. From my perspective, these are tried and tested long lasting and durable. They are a nice, large size, and the different sides are useful depending upon what you are chopping (one has a little lip to prevent spillages, whereas the other is smooth to allow for each scraping off the board. They are also not as heavy as some higher-priced alternatives (although appear just as resilient) which is helpful for folk like me who have difficulty lifting heavy stuff.

Some reviewers seem to have missed the point of the colour coding.A worry that they think it's to coordinate with their kitchen decor and are not aware of it's true purpose to identify which board to use for what to avoid cross contamination.Red for Meat, Blue for Fish and Green for Vegetables.Have just ordered one of each and will update review once they have been in use for awhile.Having received them they have arrived and certainly rate a 5 stars. Well made, just the right size and have good non slip. Really glad I ordered all three.

I bought three cheap chopping boards from Ikea, but when I put them in the dishwasher, they became warped, which was very annoying. These, on the other hand, although they are more expensive, are still very flat, and have not discoloured as the cheap ones did. Also, they have the wonderful coloured non-slip edging, which keeps them in place on the work top when you are chopping vegetables. They feel very solid compared with others on the market, and I am sure that they will last for a very long time, unlike my 'bargain' boards.

I bought this purple version in 2014. As you can see it's still in usable condition. You can see some of the purple silicon(?) chipped off on the corners. But otherwise this is perfectly serviceable. I am buying another one not for aesthetic purposes. But I kid you not, it is worth spending £10 for this instead of the other cheap stuff you see on the market.Cleaning: Use the spongy side of a soapy dish scrub and clean in a circular motion. Every year I will give it a good scrub with a hard bristle brush.

It's a good size, fairly sturdy, very sensible product. It's not like a chopping board can blow me away, I mean it might if it chopped stuff for me or put it in a pan without ever spilling and stuff didn't get stuck to it but most products which try to do those things compromise in other areas and end up being worse for it.I guess what I'm saying is, if you want a good quality, big chopping board that just sits there quietly and does its job with no fuss, this is an excellent choice.

I wanted a board for meat preparation that could be cleaned thoroughly and easily, did not skid around the counter surface and which did not blunt my knives unduly. It is of a good size with a handy handle to move it around. The edges come in a variety of colours to suit your kitchen decor ( I had the green one). I prefer this material for meat prep as I find that washing/sterilising it is easier and more hygienic that wetting and scrubbing a wooden board. I would recommend it 100%.

I use this board as a special raw-feeding item in my kitchen, chopping up chickens to feed my dog. I like that it's purple and very different from all my other boards, but it's not like a lot of them online that are only thin, wobbly things. This is a substantial, 1cm or more thick board that can handle my cleaver without a problem. It does get nicks in it, and makes an awfully loud noise if I whack the bones especially hard, but I'm confident that I'm saving my countertops!

Very good chopping board which doesn't slip on the work surface and is kind to knives. It also seems to resist cuts and doesn't get stained by things like red peppers nor does it absorb smells e.g. of onion. Unlike some plastic boards this one doesn't warp either and I like the channel on one side of the board which stops small amounts of liquid from overflowing onto the worktop. I was so pleased that I bought a second green one and a red coloured one for meat preparation.
