This is a nice looking, solid acacia wood chopping board that does what it is meant to do, but I don't think that the mere fact that it has celebrity endorsement warrants its current r.r.p.Acacia wood is pretty resistant to warping and it doesn't tend to get chewed up as quickly as a similar board made from pine when used for cutting/chopping, so this board is going to be tough and durable. However, personally I would have preferred if the board had been a bit more substantial - at 1.8mm it is not very thick and it feels quite light. On the plus side the overall size of the board, 27 x 35cm approx., gives ample room for preparation of various food stuffs and is great for the presentation of bread, cheeses or salads on a dinner table. The handle can be seen as either a plus or a minus feature, depending on whether you want to use it for carrying the board - a definite plus, or if you're wanting to store the board in kitchen cabinets - a bit of a minus.Overall, this is a good, practical chopping board which is finished to a nice standard but without the small Jamie Oliver logo it could probably be purchased for half the current asking price.

We are delighted with this addition to our kitchen. The acacia wood board is good size at 46cm in length and 27cm wide, it is light in weight and has a handle with hanging circle at one end. The board is striped irregularly in pale to mid brown wood, and it has a really pleasant smell to it. We think it is too good just to use for chopping, so we plan to use the side with the small Jamie Oliver logo for slicing bread, and the other side as a cheese board/meat platter etc when serving at the table. We have other boards which each have their sole purpose - one for veg, another for meat and the reverse side for fish etc. Handy hint - we have "labelled" them by branding an initial letter into the wood with a hot skewer! You can get colour coded polypropylene boards for this, but we prefer wooden boards for all food reparation - glass and plastic ones seem to blunt knives more easily . Of course, with sharp knives the boards will become scored, but with wood you can sand it down and re-surface with suitable oil if you wish. Just like the old fashioned butcher's blocks, just scrub them down with soapy wate and maybe a scourer.

This excellent chopping/serving board is a beautiful piece of Acacia wood with an integral handle that has a central hole for hanging it up. The finish is 'rustic' and ideal for the dining table. On the top it also has the name Jamie Oliver burnt into the surface near one corner. The board has a wonderful natural scent which is renewed each time you rinse it and as much as this is sold as a chopping board I can hardly bring myself to use it that way, preferring to use it as a table centre piece, displaying the salad, or bread. It also makes a great cheese board. Considering that it is basically just a piece of finished wood,it adds something to your table that is beyond its price and it doesn't seem particularly expensive. For the moment my existing board will be used for chopping and this one for the table, but in the fullness of time I am sure that it will be chopped upon, but until then I will dream that I am eating with Jamie! This is a great value gift but also demands a place in your own kitchen

This is an attractive looking board which will be suitable for serving food as well as chopping. Both sides look identical apart from the small Jamie Oliver logo in the corner on one side, so you could indeed use one side for chopping and preserve the other intact for presentation purposes. It's surprisingly lightweight given its thickness (2cm), which will aid in using it for serving carrying from kitchen to table. It consists of (as far as I can tell) five strips running longways fitted together rather than a single block - the colour contrast between some of them on my board is greater than the example in the photograph on the product page. Whether this construction will last without splitting only time will tell. There is no indicator on the label but I suspect that this is the kind of board which will benefit from oiling. I would say perhaps that maybe it is a bit pricey for what it is - as I write the larger size board is in fact slightly cheaper than this medium size one.

A rather nice and fairly sizeable chopping board bearing a celebrity name. The board is a composite of five pieces of acacia wood, precision cut and put together with care, well-finished and shaped as an attractive and practical kitchen accessory.Acacia is a medium strength wood noted for it's stability and is unlikely to warp; it's also from managed sources so it has sustainability added as an ethical/selling point. The board fulfils it's intended purpose well enough; it is reasonably lightweight and hard enough to provide a solid and dependable chopping surface which should be durable to a point; it isn't readily marked, though I suspect wear and tear will show through normal use.I've used it a good few times now for cutting fruit and veg, I'm pretty happy with it, it looks good and is easy to stow in my kitchen.A decent product, a bit expensive for what it is down to the endorsement and “green” credentials, but certainly a quality addition to your culinary requirements.

Crazy as it may sound, I really love this chopping board, well that is to say I really love this piece of wood! It is a really good size for presentation (i.e., sliced bread and butter on the board in the centre of the table for a meal) It feels really tactile in my hands and smooth, the grain is lovely and is a really lovely looking piece. I don't know if I can bring myself to "chop" on it as its lovely for presentation also and I feel that chopping on it may spoil the grain, having said that Jamie would use for both purposes and in fairness the chopping will give it a rustic appearance too so would still be good for presenting. All in all this is a lovely board, will be very useful in the kitchen and at meal times and will stand the test of time as is very solid and really well made!

This is a beautifully made piece of kitchenware, put together from strips of acacia wood, which is a lovely warm colour. It's big enough to prepare several types of veggies on at the same time, and easy to move around thanks to the little handle (although my partner disagrees on that - he has big hands, and says the handle is too small). It makes a great cheese board, but I wondering at the durability of it if it used as a chopping board too - if other boards are an indication, it won't stay this attractive for long. Which is fine, because boards are there to be used, but I think they are best kept as a single function.By the way, the packaging this comes in is huge - far too big a box,and then Amazon put it in another big box. Kind of reduces the green credentials somewhat...

Almost three quarters of an inch thick, this light chopping/serving board measures approximately ten and a half by fourteen inches. Mine is neatly put together from 5 contrasting strips of joined acacia wood which further highlights the warm, rich natural grain and structure of the timber. It has a short handle with a hole in it making it easy to hang from a convenient hook when not in use. The 'Jamie Oliver' logo has been burnt into the bottom right corner of the board. It has been well sanded to achieve a high quality, smooth finish with rounded edges. Relatively hard, the wood, if protected by means of regular coatings of chopping board oil, should prove resilient and provide good service. It arrives nicely presented, and would also make a nice gift.

The chopping boards we normally use are a plastic type of material, easy to keep clean, but nowhere as nice as the older traditional wooden boards. When this came up on Vine, I thought I would go it a try. It is made up from five pieces of acacia wood. It is finished to a high standard and it is very smooth to the touch. It is quite light and can be stored flat. It is a reasonable size of cutting surface. The downside is that it does easily mark and score when using a sharp knife. Over time it may not look as good as it does when new. It is a quality product and made from wood, which is unlikely to warp. I am happy to Recommend it, but we a reservation over how long it will last, due to the surface marking when using a sharp knife.

Ticks all the boxes so far .Wanted a large board as wanted the space when chopping veg etc. The smaller boards just don't seem to have enough space for me. This board is quite large.Didn't want to pay too much for one , this board based on looking around on amazon appears a decent price for the size.Wanted a wood board so unlike a glass board it wont dull my knives. Note as this is wood a sharp knife will mark it.I would like it to last a while and is the only thing at time of writing the review ( Feb 2017) I cannot comment on.At 2cm thick it is thinner than most wood chopping boards. It is lightweight and easy to hang up/storeDoubles up as a serving platterSo far it does the job.

Aesthetically pleasing multi-toned acacia wood. The board I received was far better looking than the picture displayed. The colours on my board range from creamy white ash into birch and deeper oak shades. The board is made up of 5 distinct strip blocks of wood put together, where as the one in the display pic seems like 3.I keep my board near the toaster, to butter and slice toast. I don't think I'd use my board for heavy duty chopping, it's just too pretty.Note there is a hole in the handle if you want to hang it, and (perhaps not clear in the product photo) there is a seared 'Jamie' in the wood - it's a very solid and substantial copping board that will last years. Love it.

This is definitely a high quality chopping board. It arrived simply packaged with string and recyclable cardboard insert which was a plus. It is oblong in shape with an integrated handle and the small Jamie Oliver logo embossed in the bottom right hand corner in black. The board is a good size. It's made of acacia...a hard, attractively grained patterned and sustainable wood. It feels light and easy to handle. On cutting, the surface was unmarked and the onions I chopped glided easily off once chopped.Yes it's quite pricey at £23....but being of sustainable wood...no rain forests being hacked down is worth the price to me.

It's difficult to write a detailed review about a chopping board but I am certainly very pleased with this particular brand, It is sturdy, well made and compliments the Jamie Oliver recipe holder really nicely. Size wise, it sits in the middle in comparison to other boards. It's not huge but it's not small either, you could comfortably cut your vegetables on it or carve a joint of meat perhaps. It's made of acacia wood and has a very authentic wood look and feel. Other wood boards I've seen are typically varnished and take away from the feel of the board. Not the case here, very elegant and traditional looking.

This is a really top notch chopping board that is at home serving cheese at a dinner party as doing its job in a busy kitchen. While it's relatively light, it manages to feel both high quality and durable and despite some heavy use with some very sharp knives, continues to look super smart. Ultimately whether you are a fan of glass, plastic or wood chopping boards is a personal choice, but if wood is your chosen material, this is a great choice. The Jamie Oliver brand didn't influence me one way or the other, but whether you like or dislike the cheeky chap, this is a great quality chopping board.

This came this morning and very nice it is too. Made on Acacia Wood which appears to be three pieces moulded together rather than a single 'plank' of wood taken from the tree's trunk. Nevertheless, it has a nice look and colour to it.As a chopping board, it's a nice size about 18 x 11"...not too big...not too small. I'd be careful about accidentally dropping the board though as its not that thick-about half an inch-and would split quite easily I imagine.So..not exactly a robust chopping board that will last a lifetime but it should give a few years of service if you are careful.
