When the cat at the very end of the game says "to be continued" he is winking and it actually implies as a joke for the player. Just a silly goof to tease you, trust me! I fell for it at first, then sometime later I realised the point. There is a UK and USA version of the game, you might think they are different from each other, but actually they are the same game. Hope this covers the disappointment for players.
