As the old family laser printer was depleting its toner cartridges, the question progressively was whether to buy an expensive new toner set and stretch the printer’s operational life by about another year. Or a new one. The old printer had a few issues. And most of all being slightly older, it didn’t work seamlessly with the wifi network. So given that I’m now working more from home and the children are home-schooling it was time for an upgrade. I had already selected this HP printer as a potential replacement for if push came to shove; it had good reviews, wasn’t too bulky and was reasonably up to date.I couldn’t bother too much about the specifications and features as long as it had good wifi connectivity,could make the occasional copy and could print on both sides (the latter being a material upgrade in functionality compared to the old machine). Around the same time as the old one’s toners were faltering and while finding it increasingly hard to find replacement toners, I received an attractive double digit discount offer on this printer. Complaining wife and children about not being able to print made it an easy buy.As I had hoped, the installation was easy. After I lifted the fairly heavy device into position, it required nothing more than switching it on, initializing, getting it on the wifi network to start to printing. It was a total breeze, though that’s how I expect all my new tech to operate. I had some trouble with the advanced installation app on my Mac, it somehow didn’t connect to the printer. But after trying twice and seeing that I could print from all devices I couldn't be bothered to try any further.The double-sided print feature is a paper saver. But the financial hangover will undoubtedly come when the toners require replacement. Hopefully by that time cheap refills cartridges are available - so far I couldn’t find them on auction sites. The only drawback I instantly noticed is the amount of noise the printer's paper handling produces - perhaps double the level of the old printer; it fills the home office with a lot of noise when somebody sends a printing job, which is a bit distracting. Can't comment on the wireless scanning features yet, I suppose it's good - the printer does light up as a source in my scanning app . But I tend to prefer a small flatbed scanner net to my desk top when doing a sequence of scanning jobs.Due to the noise only four stars.But for the rest, this is a proper printer that I would recommend.

I was looking for a multifunction printer to replace my faulty Canon printer (over a year). I decided not to replace initially, as I was not printing that much. If needed, I can do it at work. However, the lockdown changed everything.The main focus is scan function and less printing. I decided to pay more and got for a laser printer as I am not planning to print very much and regularly (inkjet dries up easily)I am happy with the purchase. It does not have that much functions but the ones it has are working properly.SCAN: The ADF works good and the documents are straight however no duplex in one pass (was aware of this). You can do duplex via software on the computer (if needed).The quality of the scan is good and there is no "paper pulling/dragging". For example, the logo at the top of a document is distorted, when scanned in.Printing works fine. I have been printing out a lot of nursery school work (black and white).Installation was smooth without any issue. Everything was set up on the LCD. I connect it to my network via WiFi. There is no cable. Scanning and printing are done wirelessly. When connected, the other settings eg. Email setup were configured via the Web interface.The HP smart app works fine. I wish it had the function to scan duplex (like on PC/Mac)It's a bit loud. Maybe that's normal for a laser printer.To put my review in perspective, I had purchased HP OfficeJet Pro 9020 from HP directly, which has many good features but fails to scan properly (core task) - crooked documents. I love the duplex scan in one pass and many nice features. I had to return it.

When I received the printer, I was impressed with the speedy delivery. 2 days! Need a printer for home schooling. /I nearly went for inkjet but I thought laser would be better quality and the toners would last longer.I've had a few niggles with printing through wi-fi but got it sorted. You can print directly from your phone, tablet, pc, laptop etc. It has a scanner and copier which is great to scan and email directly.There are quite a few things to set up, which is quite simple really and the instructions a clear. I'm yet to work out how to do a top feed scan with more than one document that's the only thing I'm struggling with at the moment.Other than that, great printer.You will need to download the apps on your phone and computer, and you'll be able to check when you need new ink etc. I haven't used tech support yet so can't rate it yet.

I’ve had mine a few years. An easy to set up WiFi printer. Print quality is pretty good for standard small office or home printing. It’s not a photo printer and it’s ill advised to stick photo paper in it so don’t expect the same results. I’ve printed a few photos off for family albums so it will do the job but not the kind you’d frame and put on display.The app is easy to use if you’re working from a phone or tablet, as is the PC software.I’ve only one fault and that is the sheet feeder for the scanner. Not always important but it doesn’t work well when I have needed it to work. The scanning/copying quality is good.I’d recommend this printer.

Must say I was a little concerned after reading the reviews that stated it was difficult to set up. I had my mobile device printing within minutes while my PC took a little longer to download the drivers and software required. But it was all pretty seamless.Printer produces good quality standard prints and when printing pictures on paper it is more than adequate for a home printer. Would be very keen to see quality on photo paper which I will also be trying. Looking at the HP cartridges is a bit concerning on price but reviews state this is one of the better brands in terms of pages printed per cartridge.

Bought this as a replacement for my third Inkjet in a row to die with blocked printheads and poor quality printouts. Brilliant machine, well worth the money. Had the same problem the guy who gave it 1 star had - cartridges not compatible - but hp support talked me through the fix in 10 minutes (reset procedure - off at the switch, back on, as soon as see hp logo hold thumb down on bottom right quadrant of screen until message appears, then let go and it will reset!). PS Go to hp's site for this machine and claim £75 cashback until end of July - at £224 this is a steal ?

Im not very technical, my kids set it all up for me. Needed it for my new business, as required professional quality labels that I could make at home. Does just that. It’s easy to use, quick printing, clean, crisp print quality and colours are nice and vibrant. Feeds my sticky label paper through with no issues. Wireless WiFi connection, so don’t need to plug into my laptop, and looks good in my home office. Not very bulky or heavy, was able to lift myself and sits nicely in the corner of my small room.

I purchased this printer due to my need to set up a COVID home office. It's early days but I have had no issues with the printer whatsoever. The print quality is excellent and the prints clear and speedily produced. Loading the HP driver software was easy and intuitive to use. I could not get the remote print function from email to printer to work but scanning and sending to email was ok.My advice is to look directly on the HP site and you'll find details of the £75 money back offer.

Love this machine! Really easy to use on the WiFi printing. Scanning is good. Print quality is brilliant and compared to a normal ink jet, the toner just goes on and on definitely value for money. Only problem is we have to switch the printer off and then on every time we want to change from either the phone or computer to print via WiFi. Toner is a bit expensive to replace but still way cheaper than normal ink cartridges.

Oh my gosh, I love it!!! This is a neatly presented laser printer, the first I’ve ever purchased. The set up was the easiest ever, I was dreading it but the first time ever I followed the simple instructions and everything worked first time. The printer and scan quality is super, double sided printing great, navigation and functionality is user friendly and intuitive. I am pleased so far no compliants???

Delivery was excellent and print quality is far better than the printers at work! Really crisp and true colour. But couldn't get it to work and instructions provided are minimal. Quick trip to YouTube showed you how to download the drivers and how to set up the WiFi, which was not what I expected. Printing from mobile phone is very easy. Very good quality for the money and not too big.

The HP Support site was not good, various issues, but after 2 hrs, I found that the printer shows twice on the list of printers for MS Word, the first as a fax thing (a detail not quite showing) and the second, below printers I’ve never had, as the actual printer, only visible after I removed some printers.Apologies for any misleading review that may or may not make it to the site

As my old printer broke down after many years of use, i did not think i would find a better one to replace it, Well i was in for a shock the new printer turned out better than i thought, Is quiet smooth running and turned out to be far better than the old one i had. O the old printer i was (HP C309)

I bought this printer two weeks ago and am really happy with it. Easy to setup and get going. I’m using it through my MacBook, I had trouble initially scanning but have downloaded the HP scan app which works perfectly for this job. Scanning, copying and printing are all clear and good quality.

Have only had printer for couple of weeks so still getting to grips with it but so far it's a brilliant laser printer, prints quickly and on both sides of paper when printing more than one page documents, reducing paper use. Photocopies and scans quickly also. Very pleased with the product.
