This is a great printer for the money. Double-sided scanning from the ADF, manual scanning from the flatbed scanner, and double-sided printing. You can send your scans to an email address or to a network-connected folder (e.g. on a NAS device or a computer). You can also print from a USB stick (the port is on the front).Note that this model does NOT have wireless networking - it is a wired network (ethernet) connection only, or you can connect to it via USB. If you want a wireless-capable printer from this range, look for the letter "w" in the name and expect to pay another £50 or so.Print quality and scan quality are both as good as you'd expect - which means text looks perfect and colour graphics look great,with a nice sheen to them. In common with most laser printers, colour photos don't come out as well as an inkjet printer, but they are perfectly OK for most purposes.It uses a touch screen user interface, which is simple and clean to use. Also, you can connect to the printer over the network by entering its IP address into your browser, which gives you a quicker way to access the various settings. You can also switch on its security features, which prompts you for a password and you can then disable various features such as the fax.I said "...a great printer for the money" because it is a really good price for a printer with such a complete feature set. So they must have done some cost-cutting somewhere, right? Well, yes, but you'll only notice it in the plastics. They feel a bit flimsy compared with the professional-grade printers HP also make (for several times the price of this one). So, you won't be able to stand on it, it probably won't work after you've dropped it down the stairs, and it doesn't have that "Rolls Royce" feel when you open the paper trays. But heck, for less than three hundred quid you can live with that, can't you?The other "gotcha" with this low price is that the official HP consumables are breathtakingly expensive, and note that the supplied toner cartridges have a smaller toner load that standard - about 1100 pages. Various suppliers offer cartridges for this printer which are much cheaper than the HP originals, although I haven't tried them yet. I will, and hope to update this review when I have.In summary, I'm delighted with this printer. Compared with an inkjet it's a pleasure to use - none of the frustrating and time-wasting "clickety clack whirrr whirrr" print head cleaning when I'm in a hurry. It just powers up, quietly squirts out the document, and goes to sleep again. I'm relying on third-party toner cartridges to give reasonable print costs.Would I recommend it? Emphatically, yes.

We bought one of these earlier this year for our engineering department and were so pleased we decide to replace our ageing admin printer with another of the same. Generally easy to set up, crisp, quick printing and good functionality. Also works well on Linux systems (using hplip). The only small issue we found was changing the names of the printer, so they are identified with different names by Linux printer discovery. HP needs to do a little work on this - they don't provide an option to change the relevant field.

Well impressed with this printer having returned two previous printers. Wifi connection is a little bit ropey so I bought a booster but that may just be my wifi. Ink has lasted over 6 months now with fairly regular use. Scan to email function saves a lot of hassle. Good purchase and have recommended to others.

Excellent printer. Copies are very crisp. Easily connected to home network via ethernet. Loads of useful features, duplex works well. No complaints.
