If you know what the Z/D stands for and what this food is, you are clearly in the same boat as me and the vets have told you that expensive prescription food is your only route forward. This is Great. my dog are awful at eating and hate everything ....one of them has a very bad food allergy that we weren't able to pin down. She will eat this happily as a plus which is great. The price is brilliant too, having bought this at my very reasonably price veterinarian a 10kg bag cost me £78!!! to find it on here for £50 really made my day. It lasts my dogs forever too because they eat it sparingly with the ZD wet food.If like me you have dogs who are fussy and have very bad tummies or food intoleranceI found that adding a single item of food to their diet one week at a time led me to finding out what the food is that my dog cant eat. Mine is Wheat and Gluten. In order to get my dogs to eat (because they wont eat the same food two days in a row,) I give them a different make of food every day. I know you aren't meant too but at least they eat right?. The Wainwrights Trays or Pouches and James Wellbeloved are hypoallergenic food. Plus Burns is a cheaper alternative to this and is the exact same, it even has a guide to which Z/D U/D E/D etc food is the equivalent to each one of theirs.

My working springer spaniel was struck down with Hemorrhagic gastroenteritis in late February after eating a plated chicken meal that some careless idiot left out, whilst we were out walking. He has always been fed James Wellbeloved fish & rice dry food. The peak of physical fitness just coming up to two years he lost a third of his body weight in 10 days, 19kg to just under 13kg. For the whole of March and part of April and £3k later in vets bills another vet suggested to me to try this diet. I cannot believe the result. His motions are now firm, he is gaining weight and has a zest for life again having been so poorly. The vet initially ordered me the food for which I am eternally grateful for but I have now ordered it off Amazon and am thrilled that it is cheaper. I would probably have carried on paying £28 per 3kg's that I had been charged to see my boy get back to normal, but to know that I can get 10kg for around £50 is excellent. I can recommend this food but would suggest running it by your vets first to ensure your dog is suited to it. The vet I saw said that due to his illness he had developed a food intolerance. This food has saved my dogs life.

Had an itchy, scratchy dog that suffered chronic hair loss too. She had previously been on a raw food diet. Our vet recommended this product, and although it is significantly more expensive than most dry foods, it's impact on her health and vitality had been noticeable after just the first bag. Her life has been totally transformed. However we are using this food as part of a total exclusion diet. She has no treats or any other scraps. She accepts single nuggets of this food as rewards too ! The protein in this diet, I think I'm right in saying, has been altered so that the dogs immune system does not recognise any allergen in the food as coming from any particular source. Well done Hills, and thanks too to our Vet for the recommendation.

My dog needs this food because of severe allergies, it is the only product (prescribed by my vet) that controls the issue otherwise he would be seriously ill. My Vet bill is already over £1200 and thank goodness I have pet insurance, the food however is not covered by the insurance and so had to find somewhere where I could make a saving on his food at least. Without this food my dog could die so I was overjoyed to find it on Amazon and have purchased it a number of times. THEN I find that Amazon have reserved it for Prime customers only!!! I am seriously NOT HAPPY Amazon!! I don't want to be a Prime customer and therefore you have lost a customer as I have purchased my beloved pets life savingfood elsewhere!!

My labradoodle has no problem eating this food. She has it for her treats as well as her dinner, so no problem there. She has hair loss on her back and the vet has put her on this food to she if it is allergy related. This is her fourth 10kg bag and as yet her hair is showing no signs of growth but that has nothing to do with the quality of the food, she eats it so we will still get it for her as it is doing no harm to her. The delivery is bang on so no problems and the price is half price of the vets so that is great. All in all good product and great delivery time, so we will continue to buy this product.

I have a 10-year-old Golden Retriever who suffered from severe skin allergies. After trying almost everything to alleviate his skin problems, his vet suggested to try this food. The results were amazing! No more hot spots, itching, scratching, nothing! He used to chew himself pretty badly. You must wait at least 2 months to see the results, and most importantly, do not give your dog anything else, no treats, no human food, etc. My dog loves this food, I use it also as a treat.

My poor cocker spaniel had a nasty tummy problem. After lots of tests and treatments, the last resort was to put him on this, and only this. So pleased I did (or it would have been invasive treatment). His tummy settled within 6 weeks and now I am able to mix his Royal Canin food with this. He is still unable to have normal treats so I bought the ZD treats which are really the same thing but bone shaped. I feel he is getting something as a treat. Happy doggy now!

I have a Westie with over a hundred allergies, including oats, barleys, beef. My vet prescribed this food for him, to help keep his skin condition under control. It works. He has been eating it for years and not a single spot of skin trouble. Plus he likes it. He gets all excited at feeding time. The bag has a convenient carry handle, and a " zipper" to keep it fresh. It lasts about 4 months for my dog. Oh and its about £30 cheaper on amazon than from my vet.

Seems to be working for our dog. Allergic to beef, rice, cow's milk and lamb so trying this prescription diet. It seems to be working. She's been on it since the end of December and is far better than she was. Previously she was on the RAW diet but that didn't help her skin at all. Very flaky skin, itchy - so itchy that she chomped her paws/legs bald. Not sure what's in this but it's definitely helping.

Have been using this product for my dog now for over a year, he suffers with all sorts of allergies, mostly his ears. I have found a marked improvement in the ear department, but sadly still licking his paws. I have also found this the cheapest way of purchasing, I think our Vets is some £10.00-£15.00 more expensive, I buy the biggest bag available which lasts roughly 3 months for our 3 borders.

This is the only food which my dog both likes and doesn't cause her a bad tummy and sore skin. She is a very sickly little dog who is allergic to a lot of different foods - and we have tried multiple brands and nothing works apart from this. The vet recommended this and I think we will be sticking to it!A very happy little puppy we have now - and smelly farts free!!

My dog has allergies and needs to be on a hypoallergenic dog food. I have tried Royal Canin DR 21 which left her hungry and unsatisfied no matter if I gave her 3 times the recommended amount. Also HA Purina was the same ...like dry Rice Crispies. This smells good....my dog enjoys it and although expensive it works. Having said that it is cheaper than the Royal Canin.

Perfect for French Bulldog puppy - 6 months old. Bought this as we'd tried various foods and all upset her stomach and gave her soft stools and bad gas. Swapped to this..problem solved. Also coupled this with Protexin Synbiotic capsules as these help digestion and apparently Frenchie's struggle digesting protein.

My vet recommended this after my golden retriever had dietry / digestive issues from a supposedly high quality food. Since then she's had no further problems and is happy and healthy. Also a few quid cheaper ordering from Amazon than from my vet. Highly recommended.
