The game follows a young detective and a district attorney who have 48 hours prior to the execution of a convicted serial killer to find the truth and prove whether he is innocent or not. The game is very short with minimal dialogue and a few brief action scenes. The game is much like titles like "Heavy Rain", "Beyond Two Souls" and "Until Dawn" in that the choices you make and the doing or finding the right thing at the right time can affect the outcome of the overall story. The story is actually quite compelling but it's so decidedly short that it leaves out masses of plot. The game is intended to be completed in two hours so it can be played with other people without getting too tedious butthe problem is that there's plot holes and the killer is pretty obvious from first sight. The reason I drop a star is that the story is too short, regardless of playthroughs and getting different outcomes it always feels unfinished and unresolved. The second reason it loses a star is that it needs an app even to play solo, and if you're playing on a tablet it can be extremely buggy...for example you getting ten seconds to find all pieces of evidence in the room but the tablet goes into a sort of "standby" after selecting one piece of evidence and takes two or three seconds to reactivate itself meaning you lose that time. It's the same with QTE (quick time events) where the character might rely on being quick but the tablet doesn't respond or takes ages to respond to your finger on the screen. In my opinion, the app is unnecessary for solo play but it insists on it and it's cost me the game outcome several times because it's just too unresponsive and slow.Haven't played it in a group setting yet but may at the weekend. The price at £8 is perfectly justifiable but anything more, it's not really worth it, even at replay value.I must say, the graphics and voice acting are very good. The lead is played by Katie Cassidy (daughter of David Cassidy and actress from DC comics tv show "Arrow") and I feel her acting in this is stronger than anything else I've seen her in.

I've noticed that most bad reviews are about having to use a phone to play and the story being too short.I'm guessing those people can't read (it clearly says PlayLink on the cover!!) and never played "interactive movies" like Heavy Rain or anything by Quantic Dream. It is clearly targeted at groups of more than 2. The idea that virtually everyone has a smartphone or tablet nowadays supports the idea of having something like PlayLink. This way, players don't have to bring a controller. It works fine as a 2 player game but can also be played alone. It certainly isn't the best game in this genre, but it uses the PlayLink feature brilliantly, looks fantastic and offers a lot of entertainment, despite aprupt endings when choosing not too wisely. To summarise:- You need your smartphone/tablet to play- It is more like an interactive movie than a game.- Different choices = different progression of the storyI wouldn't recommend it to everyone, because Interactive movies aren't considered games by some, but I enjoyed it and I will replay it to see how far different choices will get me... And to get all the trophies. If you don't want to pay full price, it's currently £9 in the PS store (until 19th January).

Great graphics and storyline. There is an app that needs to be downloaded before playing. If playing with friends, I alwould reccomend advising them to download elbeforehand as the app is over 100mb which could delay things should your Internet speed not offer a great speed. The game itself is easy enough. If playing in a group, I would reccomend the competitive option first hand. Then the story mode once completed. The competive mode makes the ending a little hard to complete, hence why should you want to see a more favorable end, the story mode would be best.Great graphics and the actors are very convincing in thier roles. The only constructive criticism is the app. It's a tad glitchy. Also, without giving spoilers, some sections of the game require you to use the device as a mouse. So if some of you use a Tablet, there is more space for you to travel to click the objective rather than someone using a phone. If you are competitive like me, you might argue this is an unfair advantage. All in all, worth the price and keeps your friends engaged for a couple hours (tops)

My friends & I played this for our New Year's Eve party, & we loved it. I'm not sure why so many negative reviews. So far we've played it twice, & each time got a different ending. The first ending being rather short! I'm not sure how many endings there are, but I thoroughly enjoy games with the "butterfly effect", e.g. what you do can affect the outcome of the game. Plus the possibility to play different ways using & doing different actions. There were a few roused suspicions of who had the "hidden agenda" card & lots of laughs trying to suss out if we had the right person.I've not played the game without others yet, ie in single player mode which I've heard you can do.If you need to download the app for the game, search for ps4 hidden agenda in your app store. It's rather a large app so is best to download via Wi-Fi.I hope more games become interactive like this, card games are great but this is even better & on your phone too! A big thumbs up from me.

Pros:Uniqueness of the gameplay: you play with your smartphone, SIX OF YOU at most, no need for any controller(s)Game time: you can play it and finish it in one evening (around two hours)Storyline and characters: although predictable, still enjoyableCons:Gameplay Time: For some - those (approximately) two hours to finish a game wouldn't feel enough, but considering that in 2018 you are picking this game up for less than a tenner, come on!!!Gameplay scenarios: although it has multiple choices, you won't be able to squeeze more than two or three games out of it, with the third time playing it would be in a boring autopilot-like mode. But the very first or even second time playing - it is fun,ESPECIALLY WITH 3-6 PLAYERS (THE MORE PLAYERS YOU'LL GET - THE MORE FUN YOU'LL HAVE)Multiplayer concept: playing it alone feels wrong, you can do it, but you'll feel like you're missing at least one or two partners, still playable in a solo mode though

When we got it going it was great fun. All the family loved it and it was a great night's entertainment. When you think what 4 cinema tickets would cost, this is a bargain. We will definitely play it again for the different endings. On a technical note we could not get it working at first so tried setting up the PS4 as a WiFi hotspot which didn't work. Back on our own WiFi we managed to get one Galaxy S7 connected (2 others wouldn't connect - very odd). Connected up an old Galaxy Note 2 and 2 tablets. It's probably worth digging out a range of devices to increase your chances.Do persist as it is great fun and well worth it.If you like it try Until Dawn, which was the game that led to this.We played that last year. It's great too, but this is more fun and you can finish it in one sitting.... We took nearly 3 hours including setting up.

I don't see what people are complaining about, this game is brilliant. It's entirely different from anything else out there but it shouldn't be put down for that. You can only play it through the official downloaded app on your phone or tablet, the PS4 control is completely redundant. The game itself is really short (only takes a couple of hours to complete) but it has multiple outcomes like Until Dawn and Beyond: Two Souls, so you can replay it to change the way it plays out. It's more of an interactive movie than a game, you don't control any of the characters...just make their decisions for them.None of these points make it a bad game at all, people just need to adapt and be more open-minded.It's well worth checking out, just don't expect to be sat on the edge of your seat firing guns all over the place.

Got this for Christmas and it's brilliant. Really good concept (a bit like Fahrenheit, Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls) and a gripping story. Great to play solo or with friends, and you can get through it in an evening (couple of hours or so).The only frustrations are when you start playing through to get certain scenarios (e.g. to earn playstation trophies) and you do something wrong. You have to start all over again and play through. Rage quitting doesn't work! Hehe. Such a good game though. The only added feature I'd like is for the ability to 'chapter select' upon completing the game, enabling you to jump back in from the choices you've already made to try something different.

I bought this game to play with my friends and family. Playing at home with my family worked well as the serious plot line and random selection of player to work with the hidden agenda was enjoyable. The possibility of the hidden agenda not working against the main protagonist added an extra level of deception. However, when playing with my friends the seriousness of it was not appreciated and so it lost some of its charm and was stopped not long after. So overall my opinion is to be sure this is the sort of genre that you are interested in playing before buying.

Interesting story, with some replay value - do things differently etc. Also has an interesting multiplayer mode where you're work agaist each other to lead the narrative. It's not a long game and can easily be completed in one sitting. However as mentioned above it can be played again and you can select different options.Graphics are good with only one or two minor glitches nothing to break the immersion. Controls work fine with iPhones 5s and 6.Would be good if a game like this did episodic releases - like an interactive crime drama.

I think PlayLink is amazing and Hidden Agenda is a fantastic addition to the line-up. Not as family friendly as the other PlayLink titles, Hidden Agenda takes you through an interactive crime thriller. Playable on your own or with friends, your decisions (or inability to identify clues) shapes the story. Although the main story is only meant to last 2 hours, it can be replayed multiple times and give you the opportunity to save characters that died during the first play-through.

With the family gathered together on Christmas Eve we played ‘Hidden Agenda’. We had been looking forward to playing it since its release. We all downloaded the app (that was easy) and the five of us joined the game. We played story mode and as it unfolded we all had to make decisions to guide the narrative. It’s a good game for friends to play. Although we did feel there were times as the story was told that there was very little for the players to do...hence the four stars.

This was a great game to play with friends. We played 6 player competitive mode and it caused some heated debates! Read some reviews about it being unresponsive on the app... worked perfect for all 6 of us. Maybe these bad reviews have old phones... Also for people who gave it 1 star for using a phone and not a controller... read the description before you buy it lol.Highly recommend 2 hours of fun with friends that can be replayed for multiple outcomes.

Buy this game now and enjoy it for what it is- a well-crafted, visually stunning interactive film that you can enjoy with friends. It’s not super long, but it doesn’t need to be. The more people you play with, the better, as you each have the chance to make decisions that alter the ending. The final plot-twist, while not Oscar-winning material, keeps the game interesting- especially if you don’t uncover it on first play

Good game/interactive movie, played with my girlfriend who isn't a gamer but got into this, graphics are great story is good, but very short, with how it ended, im expecting a hidden agenda part 2, also with the decision making system, the game can be played multiple times.
