I was looking for a pet carrier that would fit in a narrow gap in a campervan 51cm, one that was strong and foldable and large enough for my Staffajack. This fit the bill, 51cm Wide made it perfect for the gap available transporting the dog safely (didn't have to worry about height or length) safe for the dog and no distractions for the driver. We have a 2 person camper with D rings fitted at the rear, there are areas on the carrier where you can attach clips in order to secure to the fixed D rings (had D rings fitted by dealer) so no slipping/sliding. Our dog is used to travelling in a crate so we don't anticipate any issues. Lined it with a cosy fleece, so hoping she will just nod off on route.The carrier is very robust,I guess it would depend on the weight of your pet but I would not attempt to carry this with my dog in it, the carry handle is short, the picture shows an over shoulder strap, but our model did not come with this, I'm assuming it's because you might cause yourself an injury attempting to haul a large pet in this so it isn't needed. Once the carrier is open you have the task of pushing the side bars together, without these connected the carrier is limp. Putting the bars together does require some strength, one bar has a spring loaded retractable element (left for me), you pull this back as hard as you can then lift the other bar (right bar) which has a male connector, you push this end into the female connector of the left bar, this is not easy, you may find you have to push the bars slightly downwards together, then pull up and slide the retracted portion over the join, hey presto one side becomes rigid, now turn the carrier round and complete the same steps for the other side. Once completed you have a very robust pet transporter.I found this easier to fold than to erect, you do have to have some strength to assemble the sides, if you have weak hands and can't ask someone to help you I would say, consider my thoughts on assembly before buying.I would absolutely recommend this carrier if you want a robust great and great quality, it has front and top openings made of see through black mesh, the rear is also mesh but does not open. My dog is not destructive so I do not envision any damage, but if you have a chewy dog the mesh might not prove robust enough.I can see this lasting for years, very pleased with purchase.

Bought for a very active Cocker Spaniel, she loves it. The dark colours make it cosy and calming, whilst at the same time the numerous sections allow good visibility for dog and owner. A variety of options to open/close it are useful. Took seconds to assemble and to fold flat for storage. Strong carry handles making it easy to carry and pop in and out of the car. If you have a destructive dog then the mesh window-like sections might be a little thin. No mat inside but this allows you to fit your own choice of mat. Great value for money. I am really pleased with my purchase.

We went for the larger crate as it was cheaper than the medium and small even though our Dog is small. He has to be in it for 6 weeks after an operation so wanted him to have more space. It is light weight for its size (not including the dog!), well made compared to some of the other similar priced carriers we looked at in shops. Fits well on the back seat of the car as well, putting the seat belt across. In summary it was worth spending a few quid extra.

Brilliant carrier for my small dog who is very scared to go in the car now she jumps in , it’s dark inside which is great to calm her down . I’ve seen a major difference in her since I’ve been using this plus it fits perfect in my back seat if my car . It arrived quick and is easy to set up , the material is waterproof so any accidents are easily wiped up fast. When not in use I just fold it flat and keep it in the boot of my car

Quite big and bulky to carry but does the job in the car, dog settles much better lying on bed in the carrier (was very excitable in the boot), pity it doesn't have a side door, doesn't fit in my wife's car because of this.

Bought for transport (car and ferry) and holiday crate replacement. Pleased with product, seems sturdy, time will tell. Appropriate size for carry on for ferry, easy to collapse down afterwards.

Perfect for my two puppies for transportation as well as a mobile sleeping crate for work?? what would make it even better would be to put it on wheels, those puppies are heavy! ??

Very impressed, just right to take puppy to vets or travelling in car, only trouble now although would fit in, is so heavy that carrying him is difficult. great for smaller dogs.

This is a similar size to our dogs metal crate but takes up half the space in the car boot. Tested it out on our recent 280 mile trip to Devon and the dog was happy in it.

Great product, although higher quality mesh could have been used in door. Sharp toenails have ripped it after two journeys on the ferry.

Easy to assemble and easy to transport exactly what I required as a lightweight dog carrier I would recommend this product
