I've read some rather poor reviews of this game, and between ordering it and playing for the first time I wondered if I would enjoy it. I needn't have worried though, I love it! Previous games all seem to include sneaking past another character, which I just can't get the hang of, and I've given up for now. But this one doesn't, and I've spent many hours playing it.The controls are easy to pick up, when I read about the new style of spell-casting I thought it sounded rather complicated but it's actually very intuative. The game is hard enough to be challenging, but not hard enough to make me want to give up. Each level is quite large with lots to explore and lots to do,and you can replay earlier levels with skills learnt in later levels to get to new places and more items. The only bad points are that sometimes the scenery gets in the way so you can't see what you're doing, and occasionally one of the computer-controlled characters can be a bit thick and I've had to go give them a shove to get their attention. Other than that it's a fab game, I would definitely recommend it to any Harry Potter fan (or anyone who likes a good game!)

There have been more anti than pro reviews for this game. I haven't tried the multi-player mode, but as a single player game it really isn't that bad.So it's a platform, with five levels, plus some extras and yes, you do have to go back several times to each level to collect shields ..... but each time other areas open up for you, and already knowing your way around helps. And yes, the Tri-Wizard tasks aren't that difficult, but why complain? At least you can complete them without dying a hundred times first. If you're an average gamer (like me) who has frequently been frustrated by adventures that require speed skills you don't possess, and you like both platforms and Harry Potter (the graphics and voices are excellent)you should enjoy this. And it's cheap enough now ..... so give it a go!

I was surprised to read some of these reviews - My son and I bought the game at the weekend, and we've had a fantastic time playing it. It is really different to the old Harry Potter games, as you don't run around exploring the castle as much, but the gameplay is really fun especially in multiplayer. We loved the new big spells, the different areas and creatures. Whilst hunting around for Tri-Wizard shields to get the next level we've found all sorts of cool action moments like knocking down towers and throwing rocks and blocks around. The Triwizard Tasks are amazing too, especially the Dragon chase around the rooftops of Hogwarts. My son is 10 and a huge Harry Potter fan, and he's really happy with it.*****

Ok, harry potter and the goblet of fire is very different to the other harry potter games. It is a game where level selection is used. But to me it is a bit of a disapointment. There is hardly any storyline to this game. It is also not as gripping as the others and a lot more action rather than adventure. I, and i'm probebly not the only one, prefer if the next game the order of the phoenix was like the first three. On the other hand however, the game was quite exciting and was quite a thrilling game. The action is always there and there is hardly any boring bits. So all in all I would recommend this as quite a good game.

On a whim I decided that I wanted to own all the Harry Potter games and so I purchased most of them at the same time. I found that I was hooked playing them all the way through and I couldnt wait to move onto the next game. They are really good games, and come with mini games included on the disc. I recieved it in excellent condition and was very happy with my purchase.

Finally a great Harry Potter game! Goblet of Fire is really fun, much more exciting and magical than the previous versions, and much closer to the movie - the characters actually look like the actors. If you're into the books or movies - or have kids that are, i seriously recommend this.

Excellent graphics and the lifespan of Harry is good too. I am 11 years old and this game would be suitable for 7 years and over. The levels are hard but exciting. One of the greatest games I have got!
