Right, I'll start off by saying I live at one of the windiest and wettest coastal parts of the UK, and I mean WINDY! I had grave doubts when I bought this little umbrella, but all I can say is that it is one tough cookie! The auto open and close doesn't work smoothly every time, but it can easily be manually assisted to open, and once it is up, it is up. For its small size the canopy is surprisingly large, and I've felt very comfortable under its protection even in pelting rain. Please don't be tempted to buy something cheaper, this is worth the cost and is small enough to fit in the average shoulder bag. And if you are like me and can only condense a folded umbrella into something resembling an exploded cabbage,

After a few years my other umbrella started to fail and was getting holes in it so I thought, time for another umbrella!At first I was just going to get a similar one, i.e. a manual pocket umbrella, but then I started considering automatic ones instead as it can be a real pain trying to get out of the car whilst holding 3 bags and trying to open an umbrella at the same time as it's pouring down with torrential rain!I have to say I am very pleased I spent a little more than I planned; now I can simply press a button to open and close the umbrella without having to fiddle around trying to get it open and closed. I can also fit the umbrella in my handbag which is what I wanted (I would say I have a fairly large handbag)

I bought this for my girlfriend as a birthday present and she's been really pleased with it. If you want a highly portable, easy to use umbrella I'd recommend it for men or women. The complaints about it in the other reviews seem a bit unfair - the button is not too difficult to push for her, you just need to be a tiny bit firm with it. It's really not a problem - either the other reviewer got a duff umbrella or they have unusally weak hands. And the review saying it's not for men is also a bit ridiculous - it may be the kind of umbrella you have to crook your elbow to hold above your head as the shaft is a bit short (many men's umbrellas are like this - the price you pay for portability)

My girlfriend uses this umbrella. She's constantly complaining when she has too much to fit into her bag, but this seems to be the perfect size for hiding at the bottom of her bag (without complaint) until she needs it.It's clearly made of good quality materials and it happily stands up to a strong wind. Obviously I'm sure if the wind was really strong, it would probably struggle, but it's never reversed while she's owned it.She seems to love it and uses it all the time.

Fulton Umbrellas are easy to manage, fold up neatly and seldom turn inside out. I have owned about 5. The only problem is that the joints in the struts are feeble and start to break in a couple of years. If you are handy with small tools you can effect a repair with small nuts and bolts. This shouldn't be necessary.

It's a great umbrella, I've had two of these now (the first one I lost!) and I'd be glad to buy one of these again. The size is perfect to put in small bags and it's not too small when opened. The mechanism still works perfectly after almost a year of use and the fabric hasn't torn or come off of the spokes.

I had one at least 15 years ago and it has worn out, so I needed to replace it. Surprise, surprise!, it's still exactly the same! Just remember that although it is listed as mens & womens, it is really the normal women's umbrella. But it is so small and light that, for me, that's the over-riding factor.

The reason I gave it 5 stars is that I was searching fir a long time for an automatic umbrella which is light and small ( and prefer flat) that I can keep in my hand bag which I take every day to the office.I used it several times and it fits my needs . Most automatic umbrella are larger and heavier .

Bought this for my wife after her last handbag type brolly was stolen. Item was dispatched quickly and arrived a few days later. The auto button works well (if a little stiff but will probably wear in with use). Seems well made and fits ion my wifes handbag collection well. All round a good buy

I owned a Fulton auto open close umbrella years ago and it lasted over 15 years (it may still be going as someone stole it) it was the best umbrella I have ever had. I hope this one will be as good. So far the designe is a good size for handbags and a sturdy construction.

Great size but was expecting it to be a bit lighter. Also once opened the material seems quite thin but so far it’s been useful. Probably is best for moderate rainfall and not very windy climate (yet to use it in harsher weather conditions)

Bought this umbrella as an extra as I already have a Fulton which I have had for five years now and it still works perfectly. Very good quality product and I now have one in each of my bags to ensure that I am never without an umbrella.

This is a great little umbrella - folds nice and flat to keep in your coat pocket. There's nothing much "feminine" about it as far as I'm concerned. I expect they'd sell a lot more if they just sold it without the "women" in the title.

This is a great umbrella and I love that with a press of the button the umbrella will open and close. I have found the main pole that holds the umbrella is a little flimsy and thin, although I've not yet had any problems with it.

Arrived in good time and is a sturdy well made umbrella - a welcome change after several had recently ended up inside out and in the bin! Slightly larger and heavier than would be ideal in a handbag but flat so stores quite well.
