This mower replaces another Flymo which I have had for many years. The plastic body seems to me to be the kind of plastic which becomes brittle and easily breakable. Time will tell. When pulling the mower backwards the front end rears up which is a bit annoying. There are levers at the top which have to be pulled against the top handle to keep the motor running. I find the skin on my hands constantly being pinched between the levers and handle as I am using it. One very good feature is the method of raising or reducing the cut which is done simply by a lever on the front of the mower instead of the use of spacers which had to be added or taken away.

There were a lot of negative reviews regarding the flymo. Although a lot of them are valid, for my purpose this lawn mower is just right.My garden does not have straight edges, it very curvy. Using a conventional lawn mower is quite difficult as its pretty difficult to navigate the edges. Due to the way the flymo work, with its cushion of air, it's much easier to twist and turn.The most negative aspect of the flymo is that it does blow a lot of grass around. For me this is a minor point, given how much easier it is compared to a conventional / wheeled mower.

Straight out of the box, only thing to do is click into place the grass box handle, familiarise / read instructions, and away you go relatively easy to use see downside,This mower is slightly bigger than previous Flymo 330, and does cut closer to fence edging, great having the facility to raise and lower with ease as I have recently re turfed.Really does collect the cut grass wellDownsideIt is heavier especially when grass box getting towards full.No way of hanging this up as per previous Flymo (will have to re think shed)

Bought to replace same model I’d had a few years until motor overheated and melted. I have lots of grass, some wet in spring/autumn so need a large hover mower - there doesn’t seem to be much competition. Separate cutter and fan compartments mean that the mower stays quite clean underneath and it cuts well. Clear plastic lid gets dirty quickly then you can’t see the grass level. The box is large but fiddly to empty. Chute means grass is left on ground if wheeled with full box. Quick delivery.

Pain in the backside to manoeuvre, empty/clean but quicker and better result than my previous Glider 350. Not meant for my usual push, pull, move sideways cutting method so still getting used to having to move forwards only, which is why it's awkward on my irregular shaped lawns. The spring loaded handle is a pain when trying to manoeuvre causing the mower to either "dig in" at the back or "lift up". at the front. Sure it will be fine when I get used to it - the finished result is very good.

This is an excellent lawn mower, I've always had Flymo's over the years and this one is great.......you have got to get used to it though, eg, if you have an uneven lawn it will take the top off down to the soil, depending on how low you have the settings, which is a great feature on this model, you can adjust height settings for the blade at the flick of a lever.It does tend to flick little bits of grass out of the back, in your face whilst mowing, but apart from that it's a great machine.

Great for me as I'm fairly well built, but not the easiest lawnmower to point in the right direction.The hover part at the back blew up grass into my face and my eye with first use, probably because I wasn't aware an air blast would come from there.I would wearing protective glasses as a precaution next time.Cuts really low and only had to empty grass collector twice.I like it because its a lump which gets the job done with minimal emptying.Others may find this too bulky to move..

just used for 1st cut of the year and it coped well with the long grass, it doesn't blow out grass like my old Flymo 330. Remember to push DOWN on the handle as you mow which I kept forgetting to do and meant the mower sticks and tips which was a pain, it is very heavy to use so no good if you have mobility problems, the grass box fills quickly which is good as it shows all the grass is being collected and not left behind. A good mower, just a few niggles which I hope I will get used to.

Bought this after my 20 year old flymo finally gave up. I have found Flymo to be a very reliable brand. I was really impressed with the performance, it makes a lovely job of the grass and gets right in to the edges. It has an easily adjustable height setting, its lightweight and glides around the grass. Very easy to use. There are two parts of the design which could be better, the basket that catches all the grass does not empty easily and the lid seems like it would be easily damaged.

The Ultraglide is light and easy to use. The best feature is the lever which adjusts the cutting height instead of inserting/removing rings on the blade on previous models. This model has a fan at the rear which lifts the grass after it has been cut which is a new feature.My only crtiticsms are that the grass collector is not very large and not so easy to remove when emptying and the mower does not collect cut grass as well as my previous model, it tends to blow the cut grass around.

After my old flymo vision gave up the ghost after several years I decided to try the ultraglide.I certainly wasn't disappointed,the only assembly required is to clip the plastic handle on to the grassbox.The mower is easy to use glides across the grass.The handle takes a bit of getting used to as you mustn't press down to hard or the front of the mower lifts up which is the position it should be in when you start up.The large handle in the middle makes it easy to carry one handed.

Used first time on long grass , noticed lots of clumps of grass left behind and struggled to get the mower moving so was very disappointed until I opened the lid to find the grass had compacted so increased it's volume capacity, once emptied,the the mower suddenly became very light and took just minutes to collect the 'clumps' just needed to empty the basket more often . Found it easy to clean but you need to get used to the springy handle which is meant to adjust to your height .

My petrol mower had a fault and I bought this as the grass SERIOUSLY needed cut. Big lawn, and first cut of the year. The grass was totally put of control. I doubted that The Flymo would make much headway. It was pretty good but heavy going, due to the height of the grass. It was even tougher going in the worst areas. It was then I realised that it wasn't at its highest setting - what a twit. Once set correctly it carved through the tufts and longer patches. Impressive, indeed.

Very happy with this mower. A couple of points that I feel are worth mentioning:1. It doesn't cut quite as low as we'd ideally like nor as low as our previous old Flymo. However, this may well be a good thing over time as it'll help the grass establish but some of those pesky daisies are still visible.:)2. The grass collection is MUCH better than our previous Flymo. It doesn't leave any thatch behind which is great and makes a far neater job of it.Very happy to recommend.

Flymo ultra glide 36cm. Our faithful old Flymo was getting to be hard work. Not a big lawn area about 20 feet square. The decision was made, a replacement was needed. The blurb said it floats. Well it looked impressive with strong separate blade and a separate lift chamber. Ok why not? Flymo ordered and rapid delivery given. Out of the box and ready to use EASY is the only way to describe the set up. Plug it in and.... WOW IT FLOATS AND CUTS. recommend this one. excellent.
