My old flymo chevron of nearly 30 years died on me just when it (fortunately) finished a first cut of the year 3 weeks ago so I needed a replacement. This seemed to be adequate for my mother's small front lawn which is more moss than grass. Having read a previous review of how difficult it was to put together the collection box after unboxing, I decided to leave it to my husband who is very hands on/ DIY minded. Boy did the air turn blue ...... in hindsight he told me he shouldn't have put the handle on until he had pressed the box together as it gave him less surface area thereby less force to put it together. Anyway despite a sore hand, he managed to get the box together.So I tried it out for the 1st time today. The lawn has not had much rain on it having experienced the hottest May Day Bank holiday weekend a week before. What a revelation - I must have emptied at least 6 boxes - mostly moss though. With the old one, it was generally just over one box what with the blade not being serviced for the last 20 years, it was only cutting the grass. Mind you it was on its lowest setting so the lawn was given what can be described as a close shave! As not being so used to having moss cut and collected, I was initially disappointed to find that some grass cuttings were ejected onto the lawn but later realised that after 2 lengths of the lawn, the box was rammed full of mostly moss. With the old original mower it would be nearly the whole lawn before the box was full as the mower never managed to cut the moss! Too early to tell of course if the mower will be as robust and long standing as my last one - one star star taken off for the extra effort needed to put the box together. I have yet to try adjusting the height so can not review how easy that is.

Brilliant little lawnmower. The house we have just moved to hasn't had the lawn cut for over 4 years, so I had to strim it first. Took 4 days. But the ground is very unlevel, full of hillocks of grass roots and (being in Wales) there are pieces of slate all over the lawn and soil.I wanted a cheap lawnmower as I expected the unlevelness and slate to quickly break the lawnmower. You can set at 3 heights, I wanted the highest for the first mow. Doesn't tell you how to adjust the height but turn it on its side and you can see to pull the wheel and the axle can be moved to different heights. Do for all 4 wheels.What a surprise! Quick to assemble, light and easy to use. And it went over the bumps without any problem,hit bits of slate (some went in grass box, bigger ones flew out) and there were some clumps of grass and weeds that were upto 3 foot tall that it just simply cut down. No messing and so quick and easy. And the best bit, it doesn't seem damaged in any way.One of my best ever buys. Even the little roller at the back lays some light lines! And the grass box works, the best bit being it goes inside a black bin so you can empty it without any of the cuttings dropping on the ground. Then dispose of the cuttings at your local recycling tip.No hesitation in recommending this lawnmower.

first off to start with , this is a excellent mower , very lightweight and very easy to put together, it is set by default on the lowest setting , which is fine for most of my lawn but for the longer grass (which was still damp) it struggled on the lowest setting , if so much that the thermal cut out kicked in because the wet grass stopped the blade spinning , i thought id broke it after just five mins use, changed the fuse and tried a diff socket and nothing so went on the interweb to see if any others had the same issues , found out about thermal cut out and while i was doing all this the thermal thing had reset itself and the mower was fine again, set it on the highest setting and cut the damp grass with no problems ,lowered to medium after letting the grass dry and cut again with no problem , just waiting for it to dry so i can do a cut on the lowest setting. overall a decent mower for the price , lightweight and quite compact , worth buying for small to medium garderns (mines 30-40ft long and 15-20ft wide ) it cut it all in about 20-30 mins no problems at all other than the ones above but i think that was my fault :)

Good little Mower for small to medium lawns.Easy to assemble, took less than ten mins from opening the box.Cuts the grass well with a choice of cut heights. Little roller at the back to help give that striped effect. Didn't really work on my lawn, but that's probably due to the quality of my lawn more than anything.Collects grass very well and compacts it into the collecting box so less trips to empty it.Easy to manouver around the garden with a carrying handle to lift it into the shed or whatnot.Not enough length on cable to reach the end of my garden, about 20m, but that's pretty normal, I've always had to use an extension cord.Can't really fault it. Great little Mower for the price.

It arrived 2 or 3 days after ordering. Simple to assemble, I looked at the picture and it was rather obvious from that so instructions were not required which always makes me happy.Cut the lawn/ weed patch this afternoon after the inclement weather, no problem at all, grand job, unlike my previous flymo hover lawnmower it got rather close to the sleeper border so I gave the strimmer a miss this time! Lead whilst it does in my garden an extra meter or two would be better. My oldFlymo had a longer lead. A lot more quiet than my old Hoover flymo.On the whole if you have a small garden with an electrical socket next to your garden your on a winner. No complaints.

Having now used this product a few times, I’m comfortable saying I’m happy with the product. The only down side is that it doesn’t hold much grass, but this is a sign that the lawnmower is indeed picking up lots of it!! Relatively easy to assemble on my own (took about 20 minutes) and to use. You can adjust the wheels to select your length of cut but be cautious and follow the instructions; it’s easy to trap your fingers if you try to adjust from the wrong place.cable could be slightly longer but extension cable helps that.Would recommend, good value

This really is an excellent lawnmower. Eventually (after over 10 years of a manual rotary mower) went for this, and I don't regret it. Grass collection is excellent, the roller puts excellent stripes on the lawn, and it's dead light and easy to maneuver. Got a bit of a lip from path to lawn, and it goes over/up that with no blade hitting (I was bracing myself), so just hope it mechanically lasts and I'll be well happy. Safety switch is not fiddly at all, and I've cracked a way of doing it with one hand, wahooooooooooooooo!

I bought this mower after my 15 year old hover Flymo broke down. I was unsure about moving to a wheeled mower but took note of the good reviews for this machine. I have been amazed at how much easier this mower is to use and control compared with my old hover mower. It was easy to assemble and to adjust the height of the cut. It cuts much closer to the edges of lawns than expected. Unlike the hover Flymo it does not scatter grass cuttings everywhere and the collection box is easy to empty. I love it!

We bought this yesterday and managed to get it put together today. The grass basket was extremely difficult to fit together and the air was blue by the time we had finished. We have managed to cut our large lawn and can see if you had good grass it would leave delightful stripes!! Unfortunately ours is full of moss! The main gripe I have is the height adjustment of the wheels. There is no lever just brute force needed to make the adjustment and I would imagine a lone weak woman would have trouble!!

I purchased this mower to replace my old one all ways had the Flymo ,but this is the first Rotary type I have used found it easy to put together only thing I didn't like is the grass collecting box , think that could have been made a little better ,used it today very pleased with the cut ,gave it 4 stars because off the grass box ,but the mower is great to use ,I am a lady of 65 ,and found it easy to put together and use forgot to say this is the first one I have had with wheels

Such a great little mower and powerful too :) I only have a small area of grass as I paved the rest but this is just perfect and I dont even need an extension cable! Great value for money and a great well known product so you cannot go wrong, just keep an eye on prices, I saw this at £65.99 but missed the opportunity, I finally purchased for £89.99 but I didn't have a mower and desperately needed one, so if you are not in a rush just keep an eye first :) Enjoy

This is a great wheeled rotary mower. The cutting blade width is greater than the wheel spacing and this means it can cut right to the edge. The height adjustment is simple and works great. My lawn is recovering well from disturbance of builders putting all there timber and scaffolding on it.The grass collection is really good and it is easy to use.i found this to be great value, easy to use and in four weeks has really improved my lawn.

Got this on a deal at £50 so wasn't expecting too much. Anyway, put it together in 10 minutes, even found the box pretty easy. Got cracking on a damp lawn which my cheapo Qualcast of a similar spec would have struggled with - no problems here though! Glided through it in record time left a nice smooth finish. One complaint though, the grass box doesn't fill properly, it needs emptying when it's less than half full which is a pain.

bought this to replace a 9 year old pac and mow, although its a liitle smaller, it does a fast job, of my small lawn, not sure if i fitted the handle properly as it does not seem to fold down, so will take another look, was really in a rush when i put it together as i wanted to mow the grass before it rained. fits in the shed better as it a tad slimmer too. very pleased at £70 cheaper than anywhere else on line.

Very happy with this product. Great for my small garden just zips around. Good also in uneven and sloped surfaces. It even tackled my father in law's massive lawn- although it did require a lot of emptying.Really nice cut on the long setting- looks really professional.I dropped it a star as it does not store as easily as my previous mower but it hangs up fine so not a massive issue.
