This carbon is high quality and keeps your aquarium clear and clean smelling. I use it in a freshwater aquarium and it’s down to personal choice really. It won’t solve problems such as algae growth but definitely gives the water a nice polish. As every other review says; it only comes with one bag but if you're using the fluval 30X or 40X filters you can just put the bag over the partition and spread it over both if you plan on using a lot. Keep in mind that you do not need as much as you think; I put in almost a half and it barely fit into the baskets of my 306 filter and I had already rinsed it thoroughly so couldn't take any out.It comes with about 5 small zip ties to close the bag but ifyou expect to be using less than a fifth of it each time you can easily tie the large bag it comes with in a knot.It works out much cheaper than the individual bags so I cannot complain!!If you want a media bag with a zip and a mesh that’s fine enough to keep this stuff in I recommend Seachem’s small zip bag - it’ll take some of the faff out of replacing the carbon.

Great product, the 900g option comes with a single mesh bag and clip. The bag is big enough to hold the entire contents of the 900g bottle should you so wish. I have no doubt the clip does its job but the bag is long enough to accommodate a knot and leave plenty of room for water to circulateFor ponds, I just pour half the carbon into the bag and seal it. Run a hose over the bag for a few seconds until the black dust stops coming out. Scoop a bucket of pond water and plunge the bag in and out a few times to remove the chlorinated water. Drop it in your pond close to wherever the dirty water circulates, not where the clean water come in. Just leave it there or occasionally *gently* move the carbon around a little to get it all exposed to the water. The particles that make the water dirty seem attracted to the carbon and stick to it in huge quantities. When the effect slows down, chuck the carbon and use the other half to keep the water clear. This is a good quality activated carbon, you don't end up with black water

I bought these to use in my Fluval U3 filter. I have 3 baby Musk Turtles in an aquarium and always found the water to be quite hard to keep clean (After a week). After much research I bought a 2nd Fluval U3 filter (from Amazon) and in the 3rd chamber instead of the Fluval Biomax I have loaded it with the Fluval Carbon in the bag (only half a bag). It works so well and polishes the water and keeps any discoloration from Mopani wood right down. The net bags were a little big for my filter chamber - so i just snipped a corner and emptied some out for later. The tank looks more like an Aquarium now with crystal clear water. I'm so relieved and can enjoy the Turtles and Fish much more knowing the water is this clean.Great value as this bag will last 6 months with me changing the Carbon once a month in the filter (Half a 100g bag). This is obviously a 'Pimp my filter' suggestion, but considering how messy Musk Turtles are I'm so glad I finally found a solution. Great product, esp the net bags.

I started out with a used Fluval 205 filter and was using a nylon bag refilled with activated carbon. This was a mess. I bought a 406 filter which came with two of these carbon packs. I figured I would buy bulk carbon, more bags and save a lot of money. Much to my dismay, I was unable to find a source of inexpensive, activated carbon. If you wait for a good price and then compare the cost per weight of these bags with a half gallon container of activated carbon, you'll see that these carbon bags cost about the same. There is no dusty mess with these bags like there is with the bulk carbon. The quality of the carbon is excellent; there is no problem keeping three turtles in 100 gallons of waterclean. The Amazon price is the best around.

I bought these for our Fluval 406 filter and they are convenient, easy to use, and mess free. It may be possible to save a few pennies by purchasing bulk and filling bags but I am sold on the pre-packaged 100-gram bags for the convenience and time savings alone. If saving money is important and you still want the convenience, try the 18 pack (6 x 3) available at Amazon for about a 30% savings. http://www.amazon.com/Fluval-Carbon-nylon-Media-6x3pk/dp/B004J8AQPS/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_2?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1346879407&sr=1-2-fkmr0&keywords=Fluval+Carbon%2C+100-gram+Nylon+Bags+-+18-Pack

Bought this as I am setting up a new marine tank. After checking prices this was great value - and yes it only comes with one bag (but a good quality one). I was also looking for a bag for some rowaphos which I had purchased and after checking this site and ebay I concluded that it made better value to buy another tub of carbon and get the one quality bag instead of some poorly stitched bag from a someone with poor sewing machine skills. So, one quality bag and a further tub of carbon for slightly more than the price of a bag on here/ebay - this cant be bad!!

Good god! I run and run and run and run and run and...well, you get the idea. I run this under the water as instructed before adding it to the filter in my tank and NEVER does it stop turning the water black (during the rinsing phase, before I add it to the tank). I wish I knew how long I was supposed to rinse it for and the instructions aren't clear. It did not, however, seem to turn my tank water black and I can't help but love the value. I have two of these for my 72 gallon tank (one in each of the two filters) and it seems to be doing the trick!

I was looking at purchasing carbon in a bulk container and inserting it into a re-usable medai bag. However, after crunching some numbers, it is actually cheaper to purchase this three-pack than it is to purchase carbon in bulk.I only use it in tanks that I need to clear medication out, or have inserted some wood that is releasing tannins and making the water dingy. In an ongoing bassis, my filters don't include carbon. However, I like having some on hand just in case. These prepackaged bags are handy and great to use when needed.

First time buying and using this stuff. Used the included mesh bag and clip with the carbon to filter my tap water into jug for drinking. Dust particles still present after significant rinsing though, so additional filter layers still needed. My icky tasting London tap water comes out crystal clear and crisp tasting so I’m gonna keep using! Also stuck a yogurt cup filled with these into the fridge to eliminate odors.Don’t have anything to compare to, I’ll consider them high quality and has lots of good uses around the house

Since we bought our turtles last June our house smelled musky even if the tank had been recently and thoroughly cleaned. Done a bit of research online and found this, promptly bought it. Best purchase ever! At first, I put the white bag inside the filter but I can still smell The Smell. So following the online advise of another turtle owner I placed 2tbsps of the charcoal in a small portion of women's tights, tied both ends together; dropped it next to the filter and viola! No smell whatsoever! So really really happy!!!

100% worked. Really helped clear up my tank and fast. Within 12 hours or so the tank was so much cleaner as in the water clarity. I used about half of it in my canister filter. I packed as much as I could in the tray. I have a 2000EF plus pond solution canister and it sits right at the top tray. The mesh bag it comes with is perfect.Make sure you wash it properly Before use in the mesh bag. Make sure it’s the last thing your water hits before the water is pumped back into your tank.

I have spent MONTHS trying to get rid of an endless 'cloud' in my tank, within just 2 days of placing some carbon inside my filter this is the water clarity. I'm blown away! The packs I bought were too big for my filter but in terms of value for money the most cost effective. I poured a small amount into the bottom of some tights and made a more size efficient pouch to put in the tank! (Small hack there). Will recommend this to anyone looking for that crystal clear tank look!

I use this carbon for my carbon filter attachment for my waterpipe/bong. The two bags of carbon included are easily cut open and managed. I love this product! It keeps me from inhaling unneeded carcinogens. I would fully recommend to others.I have never used a carbon filter before mine and this carbon. So I have no frame of reference for other types/brands/consistencies but I like this product a lot, and that's all I know. I would also buy it again without hesitation.

I cannot rate this highly enough. I had a terrible time with cloudy water in my aquarium. I had tried everything and nothing had worked. I had normal carbon in my filter, but this activated carbon worked a dream. It has been in my filter for about 2 months now and the water is still crystal clear! I dont pretend to understand the difference between carbon and activated carbon, but if you can not clear your cloudy aquarium water then this is the product to use.

I bought this product to remove the smell from a car I bought that had previously been owned by a smoker. Before I bought this activated charcoal, I had owned the car for 3 months without the smell going. I put the activated charcoal in the bag provided (about the size of a 1kg bag of sugar), set it on the parcel shelf, and 4 days later the smell of smoke has disappeared. Amazing result leaving a totally satisfied customer!
