I've owned the Eheim 100, 200 and 400 air pumps for 4 years now and I love the Eheim brand simply because of the german engineering quality. I own there external filters, air pumps (100,200,400) and multiple other products. There products never fail to impress me. These Eheim air pumps are clearly excellent quality. Very durable and rubberised feel, can be wall mounted, individual and adjustable air outlets, these are very quiet compared to others on the market, i simply always put a piece of under tank foam underneath them just to stop vibration noise on the tank cabinet. Quietest air pumps i've ever bought i would buy again if needed. Eheim are a great quality brand so probably last me years to be fair. These are powerful air pumps not weak like some others. Some people saying they are not quiet, no air pump will be 100% quiet and hence i always put my air pumps underneath some foam (fish tank base foam) for example to reduce vibration noise, if you put an air pump on a hard surface ie, wood, glass then you will get vibration noise. I have mine in my tank cabinet and do not know it's even on it's that quiet. You will hear more noise from the air bubbles in the tank than you would hear the air pump. I honestly cannot hear it at all in a quiet room with tv on on low. Would highly recommend this airpump and the Eheim brand in general. I love german engineering as always get good quality products.TIP: Do not forget to buy decent non return valves to prevent water syphoning down air line tubing into the air pump ie, if electric go's out (this prevents flooding, potential electric shock and fire). A cheap must have item for anyone with a air pump. Safety is a must when dealing with water and electrics. Also don't forget to buy airline tubing, It comes with approx 1 meter (approx just over 3 feet) of air line tubing but may not be enough for everyone. just measure and decide if it will be enough. Comes with a diffusor (two with the 400) to which they are adjustable so you can make bubbles bigger/smaller (i personally don't use these myself), nothing wrong with them however.

I own a biOrb Life 60L and anyone who has a biOrb will either use or have used the supplied biOrb air pump. Knowing no better I used the supplied biOrb air pump from the beginning and it failed within a week. I needed a new pump quickly and after a bit of quick research I found the Eheim Pumps came highly recomended and so as it was available on Prime I purchased the Eheim 200.If you do own a biOrb you actually only need the 100 model as you only need the one output, the 200 has two outputs but it was the only one they had in stock for prime delivery at the time. Once you receive this pump (or likely any decent pump) you will realise how small and cheap the biOrb pump feels in comparison. Then again at only £7 for a replacement what do you expect? Its a chunky unit and reassuringly heavy, as it has two outputs I had to find a y/t connector to channel the two outputs into one but you can pick these up for pennies. Each output has its own control to increase or decrease the air flow but you can't turn them off which is a shame as it would be a useful feature. I immediately noticed the increase in bubbles in my biOrb and I only keep it on a medium setting even at its lowest it is a vast improvement over the provided pump.I would never say it was quite "whisper" quiet when running but it was barely noticeable though I must admit after nearly three months of constant use it does occasionally seem to buzz a little louder than it used to at times but nothing drastic. (You can hang these on your wall which I haven't done but it may reduce any noise)For anyone with a biOrb I would now consider it a day one purchase and keep the supplied biOrb pump for a spare but if you can, just get the 100 model as it is all you need and of course a bit cheaper.

I wanted to spend a little more to get a higher quality product, there's so many cheap unbranded air pumps out there that I just can't fully trust.I put my faith in the Eheim 400, it arrived very well packaged, and it is surprising just how compact this pump is, very compact design, feels solid and of high build quality which is nice.It is reasonably quiet, but probably louder than I expected considering the reviews I had read, I spent a long time placing the pump on various materials to try and absorb the vibrations, foam managed to do it quite well. In a silent room the noise is noticeable, but when the TV is on the noise is drowned out and doesn't get in the way,so not too bad.I noticed something unusual with the dials on the top for each outlet, I assume each outlet individually gets 200L/h with the corresponding dial giving complete control, and for the most part it seems that way, but when maxing out one of the outlets, I noticed a decrease in the other outlet. To the point where maxing the dial on my curtain, caused the other outlet to struggle to get my airstone going. Very slightly turning down the other dial did make the curtain and airstone work together, not at full blast though. It is a minor problem though, and I don't know if it applies to all units or just the one I received.I managed to get it working to a standard I was pleased with, so despite the little issues here and there I have had, I will still give it 4 stars, it is a solid air pump overall and comes with a good warranty.

Amazing product, I've been keeping fish since I was 3, that is now 35 years ago. I've had many aquariums. And various air pumps. This was purchased for my second aquarium. A modest Trigon 190. Since this aquarium is located in the bedroom, I required a pump that would be efficient and silent. On delivery I inboxed it immediately, I was pleasantly surprised. The the pump itself is extremely small. Specially for one that can move as much air as this. You can dial up or down the air for both outlets individually. This is a rare feature on its own. I have both set to the lowest setting and the oxygen produced is amazing. I will include pictures. They aren't the clearest as the tank is currently undergoing the nitrogen cycle. To summarise. It is small. Comes with accessories, but most of all it is silent. You can't hear the pump. Just the sound of the water moving inside the aquarium. I can only feel like, those whom have complained about the noise from the unit are either new to fish keeping and think the water movement is the unit itself. That or they have a faulty unit. I'm extremely impressed.

My aquarium sits in the hallway, tucked underneath the stairs, so whilst the sound of the pump wouldn't distract you whilst relaxing in the living room, the old pump I used had the typical pump sound that all aquarists will be familiar with, and you could definitely hear it in bed at night, much to the annoyance of my other half.I therefore purchased this pump solely for the reason that it is marketed as being silent. I purchased with trepidation. I have owned so many pumps in the past that I took its claims with a grain of salt, but I am amazed at how quiet this pump is. I don't hear it at all anymore! I can walk down the hallway and not hear it churning away.I go to sleep at night and all I hear is the faint sound of bubbles and not vibrating plastic. It's so quiet that if I ever decided to move my aquarium into the living room the other half wouldn't have the excuse of " the pump is too loud". And, as a Brucey bonus, it has an adjustable airflow.A fantastic pump, the best I've ever owned, mainly because you can't hear it.

Great air pump. I brought extra airline as it only comes with 1M which isn't a lot in my opinion, and anyone who wants to store this below the tank level will need a no-return check valve too so there are no issues with drawing the water out if there's a power failure. Otherwise it comes with everything you need and it works pretty simply, it's mostly silent too. I say mostly because sometimes it will randomly vibrate very loudly in the cabinet i have it in so I've had to place some filter floss underneath it to deaden the sound. Being able to vary the power of it is great, and the stream of bubbles are very nice,my tetras were wary at first but now they dart through or hang out near the stream and seem to like the flow of it on the lowest/gentlest setting the most.Overall, Eheim products are the ones to go with in my opinion, I have a filter of theirs too and the build quality is unbeatble, I trust them far far more than other brands

What’s not to like about this pump... nothing I can find as of yet.Very powerful, extremely quiet.Have it set at minimum supplying a 12 inch air curtain and even at minimum I am thinking it’s a bit to powerful.May have to valve it down a bit more yet.I have my tank in the front room and the gentle noise from the air curtain is louder than the pump.I can easily say that the pump is very quiet. This pump is probably oversized for my needs, my thinking was to buy bigger so I could run on minimum power. The pump has two outlets separately fed from two diaphragms inside. So you can run separate lines and adjust as needed via the dials on the pump or join them together to supply one larger air stone. The pump comes with a y connector to allow this. Two non return valves and two air units I have not tried yet. This has been running for two weeks no problem.Yes it is expensive but you get what you pay for.Nice bit of kit I would recommend

Having had many air pumps over the years I have never found one that is truly silent.Having returned to the hobby after a 12 year absence I am setting up a new tank and was looking for a quiet air pump.I thought that during the 12 year gap that air pumps may have advanced in technology but they are pretty much the same in fancy packages.I contemplated getting a reconditioned British piston pump but the cost was too high.I then noticed that the Eheim had very good reviews so I decided to order one.I was very impressed with the build quality and the weight of the pump. The facility to hang the pump up is very robust but flexible. On switching on I had to touch the pump to make sure it was workingas it is silent. This seems,at present,to be perfect and it comes with a 3 year guarantee.I would definitely recommend this pump to anyone setting up a tank or upgrading.

HI,I AM SETTING UP A NEW TANK AND WISH TO RUN A SMALL AIRSTONE IN IT SO I PURCHASED THIS PUMP AFTER TRYING OUT A COUPLE OF OTHER MAKES THAT STATED THEY WERE VIRTUALLY SILENT(TETRATEC APS100 & INTERPET AIRVOLUTION). UNFORTUNATELY THEY WERE BOTH QUITE LOUD AND WERE RETURNED. AFTER READING REVIEWS ON THE EHEIM PUMPS I DECIDED TO GIVE THEM A TRY AND ORDERED THE 100L/H MODEL. I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WHEN I PLUGGED IT IN TO HEAR HARDLY ANY NOISE COMING FROM IT. I LEFT IT TO RUN FOR ABOUT 2 HOURS AND THERE WAS NO INCREASE IN NOISE. I DID EXPERIMENT PLACING IT ON VARIED SURFACES AND ON SOME IT DID MAKE MORE NOISE DUE TO VIBRATION IF ALL THE RUBBER FEET WERE NOT IN CONTACT WITH THE SURFACE. OVERALL,I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THIS PUMP AND WILL BE KEEPING IT FOR WHEN I SET UP MY NEW TANK. THE PUMP ALSO FEELS VERY STURDY AND LOOKS WELL MADE.

This air pump is excellent and would recommend to any one wanting an air pump for their tanks. I had purchased the EHEIM 200 but found it wasn't powerful enough for my large tank, but because it was such an excellent pump and quiet, I bought the 400 and this is fine for the larger tank air curtain pipes. The EHEIM pumps are very quiet when running, comes with air pipe and controllable suction air stones. The EHEIM 400 & 200 have been the best Air pumps I have purchased and I also like the fact that you can also controll the amount of air for each air outlet. My last was one was suppose to be quiet, the Fluval QI was extreamley noisy I had to turn it off at night it was so noisy and packed in after a few months. When I first plugged these EHEIM In I thought they weren't working because they were running so quietly.

I bought this for my 30L Biube as the pump that came with it was really noisy. Fish tanks are supposed to make you calm but not when the pump sounds like a pneumatic drill. The racket was so bad I couldn't hear the TV properly even though I wrapped the pump in bubble wrap to try and muffle the noise. I read the reviews on this Eheim pump and thought I would give it a go and even though it has just arrived, so far so good. It is much quieter than any other pump I have tried and I feel as if my living room is now a place I can relax in and enjoy some peace and quiet. Compared with the old pump the Eheim is much bigger but I'm prepared to put up with that to enjoy the silence. It is more expensive but not extortionate and even if it only lasts a year before needing to be replaced it us well worth every penny

Ultraquiet, , great throughput, very good sound dampening via the rubber flexi feet.Definitely made the right choice, several points to note....1) The supplied air hose is really short and next to useless.2) The supplied air outlets (plastic headlamp looking things that can be used instead of airstones) are horrendous, they are extremely noisy.3) Would prefer to be able to turn it down more, even on minimum the air coming out of the two stones I have is quite the raging torrent of bubbles.4) I did put it an extra 2 feet away on a window ledge behind a curtain and run them on minimum to ensure I could not hear it so if it is right next to the tank and turned up there maybe noise.Still going to give it five stars as it is very quiet and very powerful,a rare combo.

Bought to replace a very old tetratec pump, pretty quiet, although I have had to dampen the sound slightly by putting towelling underneath. This is due to it being on a shelf and not mounted to the wall. Please note that this system is designed to be kept above the water level, so in all likelihood you will have a black box as part of your home decor. To combat this, I have placed it u see the tank, but used the valves the provide which means water cannot be drained from the tank. If you want to use two outlets, you may want to buy another piece of hosing. All in all very happy with it, above are the negatives but the positives outweigh it which You will see on the product description. Bubbles are good, pump is powerful and the ability to control the flow is good.
