I bought one of these from my local aquatic store and not from Amazon, as I needed a pump straight away and couldn't wait for it to be delivered, after my original pump started playing up.First thing you notice when you get this pump, it is about a third of the size of the original silver pump that came with the tank. Biorbs website confirms that this new (smaller) pump will work with all Biorb tanks. The box suggests that this is a newer and 'quieter' design pump.After reading some reviews and seeing the size, I was a bit concerned that this pump wouldn't produce enough air to work with my 30l Biorb, but as soon as I plugged it in, it started producing more than enough bubbles.

I couldn't see how I should connect this at first and it looked like I needed a new adaptor. But .... it very cleverly plugs into the adaptor that serves the light! My next problem was that it sounded like it was working but there were no bubbles. I found a faq page on the biorb site which suggested disconnecting the pump and blowing a sharp blast down the tube from a bicycle pump. Worked a treat and out popped the blockage - maybe this tip will help someone in the future. Pump works great, it's tiny but seems more powerful than my last one. A bit too noisy for my liking but I'm sure in time I will get used to it.

This replaced the original Biorb pump purchased with the new setup, less than a year ago. It looks slightly different (better) than the original, but you can see it is essentially the same. I am not able to place it above the tank and so it is in a cabinet below it - this is not ideal but is where the original sat. I have been very surprised at how quiet it is. Much quieter than the original and in fact I am hard pushed to hear it at all. I wasn't expecting this due to other buyers experiences and my own experience of inexpensive pumps.Up to now I am very impressed although the true test is how long it lasts.

My old biOrb pump gave up and stopped working. As we were in the middle of lockdown, I was unable to dash out to replace it from the shops. I was worried the three gold fish, given to me by young granddaughter, wouldn't survive long without the pump. I frantically whizzed up the water with a pencil, to oxygenate the water (these are sturdy fish) and ordered a new pump which arrived the next day. It is totally silent and has no vibration which leads me to question whether the original pump was dodgy all along. The fish are happy and so am I.

Very small and decsreet compared to my other biorb pump that broke and can be kept out of sight. Easy to attach the tubeing, does not come with plug but i already had this anyway. Very powerful , can vibrate on a hard suface and move due to vibration tho so I rested this on a peice of folded kitchen towel, seems to of done the trick. Bubbles in tank are better than before and powerfull... fish seems happy, i am using this on my 60 litre biob tank.... perfect buy.

Bought this to replace my old pump that came with my tank over a year ago, and had lost so much pressure it was no longer filtering.This replacement is Perfect! More than half the size of the old one, quieter, I just plugged it in and my tank is back to normal after a few hours.Definitely recommend if you're having problems with air pressure, or if your pump is getting a bit noisyThanks! Lifesaver!my biorb pump gave up late last night and I wasn't sure if my fish would survive but thanks to Prime next day delivery the replacement arrived in time. It is three times smaller than the original so I was not sure if the pump would be powerful enough for my 60l tank. No need to have worried its as if not even more powerful and is far more silent. Great price and exceptional service delivery!

Small, quiet (thank god) and does the job! My old air pump was on the way out, big and really loud! This is the perfect replacement and is just as powerful as my old air pump, and a lot smaller. Also it arrived very quick (thanks Amazon Prime!).Only disappointment was the amount of packaging Amazon wrapped it in - Amazon, you really need to get some smaller package containers for smaller items!

Much quieter then the original larger pump. My original pump that came with tank got louder and rattled so I bit the bullet and bought a new one. It's almost half the size but does the same if not better job. Loads quieter too. It's a pump so it isn't going to ever be silent but this is brilliant. I think it may have settled in over a few days and got even quieter. Very pleased

Bought this for my 60L Biorb tank as my original pump got water in when the electric went off. I was suprised how small and neat looking the pump was, much smaller than my original. It work really well in fact better than my old one and because it is smaller and nicer looking I have been able to put it on top of the tank so water does not get in again if the electric goes off.

The pump is great, the box illustration suggests it should be put on the wall above the water level. fair enough, I assume that it has a non-return value in it but thats safer. But, it doesn't have a hanger point to mount on a wall. So I need a wire / string cradle to hang my not unattractive, very effective, little pump. The old Reef one had a moulded hanger point.

Brought a a replacement for a pump that sounded more like a jet plane. Oh my goodness. This is totally silent. I keep staining to see if I hear it but nothing. It's small so when it arrived I thought there is no way this is going to be strong enough. It is though and when it's in the cupboard that holds all the wires for my biorb I can't hear it at all. Brilliant ?

Got this to replace a failed one (same item) which had been running for 4yrs+ so they seem quite reliable for the cost. In my setup the pump tends to move a bit and then starts to vibrate when it touches another surface (pipe/cable/solid) which can be quite annoying but when in the sweet spot location I can barely hear it. All in all happy with the pump.

People have given poor reviews for this pump because it produced only a weak stream of bubbles and I experienced the same problem. However I simply replaced the air stone in my Biorb and now the bubble stream is as strong as the much larger pump that was originally supplied with the tank. It is a bit noisy hence 4 stars rather than 5 stars.

product good and works well 2 weeks after being plugged in. There in lies the interesting thing as this order for this pump doesn't come with a power lead and plug. That came as a surprise to me so extra cash required to buy the power lead. Worth buying tho' as decent quality and a quiet pump compared to my last one.
