I have this media for some time now. What I can say about it, it does indeed absorb water very well. Sintered glass is a really good idea for bio media.I have this mixed with hydroponic pebbles in my SUNSUN 704B Filter. I have three massive trays filled with this and the clay pebbles and the fourth tray as mechanical.I have no issues with bacteria sorting out my nitrogen cycle during any stage of maintenance or water changes. The one bit of advice I would like to give about this product or any other static biomedia is to make sure you're mechanical filtration is hit first coming into your pump ((Course / Medium / Fine) => and then the biomedia.

Hi there all.These will be amazing, so don't let the 4 stars put you off.The reason for the 4 stars are for the fact that my Fluval 206 came with 120g Biomax and is only about 1/3 full on the tray.This Biomax by fluval appears to be a different design.The pieces are approx 1/3 to 1/2 bigger than the pieces of Biomax supplied with the filter.That being said, i still got an additional 150g installed into the tray, (taking me to 270g), where as i would have got maybe 200g with pieces of the same size.It will do the job, but just be weary if you want it to match existing media that comes with Fluval canister filters.As a bonus, my pack received 515g once out the box.

The only one I'll buy now, the rough / (very) porous nature of these is ideal for fast cycling. They are superior to other (smooth) cheaper brands. Before I started using these, I'd bought some others at a discount store, they worked out about half the price of these but the tank took forever to cycle and the tank lost that cycle on a heavy maintenance session (deep gravel/tank clean with filter isolated /untouched). The majority of beneficial bacteria had clearly built up outside the filter as it was easily lost. After switching to these, never had that problem. Worth the extra money.

Great product, large quantity, enough to fill both sections of one basket nicely. These are the larger size for canister filters, but will also fit in the internal type filters and will allow flow. I use one to stop the smaller media in my internal filters clogging the outlet hole as they can shift and compress down slowing the flow.

this stuff is a miracle since setting up the tank and adding several fish per week now its fully stocked ive never had a nitrite ammonia or nitrate reading out of the safe zone infact the highest nitrite reading i got was 0.01. i do a 15-20pc water change once a week i keep tiger barbs and chichlids there all very happy and healthy

It's fluval biomax, what more is there to say. I have a fluval U3 and I put the original supplied biomax and about 3/4 of this pack in the filter. Does a cracking job of offering exceptional colonisation area for the friendly bacteria. My tank water is always clear and always ammonia and nitrite free. It must be doing its job!

I haven't changed the first original set and after searching on line a lot, there seem to be confusion on when or if they should be changed. The quality of it does not seem to be affected yet, and although I clean the aquarium, perhaps too frequently than I should, I have yet to see a reason why they should be changed at all.

I didn't expect the rings to be as large as they are (about the size of a grape) which didn't fit in my previous filter. I haven't noticed spectacular results since getting my new filter but also I couldn't say the water quality is any worse.I wouldn't avoid this product but I'm not going to sing its praises either.

These biorings are great biological media. If you have empty space in your filter for activated carbon, just add more of these!(I recommend you put them after all the mechanical filtering including polishing pads to stop them getting clogged up. After all they’re not meant to offer any mechanical filtration)

These little 'stones' for your filter & really great, they also last for ages, so you do not need to keep adding new ones all the time. With-in 24 hours of placing these inside your filter, the tank water will be so much clear. If you have a Fluval filter, then these are a must have to keep your water clean.

i used this filter medium in a cold water tank and found it to be very efficient in removing impurities and generally keeping the aquarium in a very clear and clean condition. another advantage is that it lasts a long time between changes.finally the post was extremely quick and packaging excellent.

Bough these as I needed to add some to a few external filters I bought. Not exactly sure what they do, but the seem to work fine. The water is clear and the fish are still alive. What I can say is that the box was a lot bigger than I thought for the price and I would highly recommend this product.

Does the job it's designed for well although you shouldn't replace your biomax media as frequently as Fluval suggest. I have had some in one of my tanks for well over a year and it's still great and holds the required beneficial bacteria to keep my aquarium healthy.

Can't really go wrong with this stuff. It's top quality and shines above some of the other cheaper products out there. Very little dust in the bag, so a quick rinse before use is all you need. It is more expensive than the rest, but then it does appear to be better.

Great amount of bio rings in the pack, big chunky rings so only needed to use so many of them so still have plenty for when these need to be replaced, they came packaged very good and arrived super quick from the seller, very pleased with my purchase.
