Fluval make possibly the best equipment for the fish keeper. The Fluval U2 filter is superb. This cartridge comes with the filter when you buy it and in my inexperience I used it all the time and wondered why my plants would not grow! The carbon cartridge removes chemicals from the water, so it will remove any plant food you have added, too. But it is great for removing any medications or water treatments you may need to use, but do not need to always have present in your aquarium water. I have now started to use the Fluval Poly Clearmax cartridge instead of this one, as it removes phosphate, nitrate and nitrite, which helps to maintain clear water and to avoid odour.

I have purchased these dual pads before for use in my existing Fluval U2 filter, they do fit perfectly since they were designed solely for this filter model. Like many others, I have tried using other pads to save money but it simply isn't worth the time. These pads fit as advertised and work well, just be prepared to pay the extra money for the convenience.

The Fluval U2 filter is prefectly good for the 55ltr tank I have. I think the U2 is for 50-100ltr tanks or something similar. I would like to go as far as 100ltr with it though. The media is good and keeps the water crystal clear for about 3months from new. After that, it is best just to replace all media, that will cost you about £10 roughly.

i got these gen ones after trying pattern, these allow more filtering through them and trap more muck. the cheopo ones were very tight material and not as effective. who would have believed it, me siding with genuine stuff, thats rare and shows these really are worth the extra dosh. the fish have to live in there man!

I don’t change this as often as they recommend just clean them regularly with water changes they seem to last very long the water don’t smell at all ones it’s starts then the carbon is not working so then change them but I love them keeps my aquariums crystal clean bit expensive but hey it works.

This pump and filters were recommended by a professional who services large saltwater tanks. have a map turtle, and the normal filter usually found in low end pet stores does not do the job. After purchasing this, the tank was clear, clean, and stayed that way with only minimal effort.

These are the perfect fit for my fish tanks pump, and getting them on a rolling month by month contract is great, and a good reminder to clean out the fish tank twice a month.They are very well put together, sticking is perfect, and they hold all the grime from the tank really well.

Sorry, local pet shops and aquarium centres, but your prices are too high. Amazon and/or their sellers offer this item at a much cheaper price. You have to buy this filter to fit the U2 tank pump, as no-one has yet produced a compatible filter at an even better price.

What is there really to say? Don't get any cheap alternative just get the real deal, moved my tank to my new house and have to re add the stones which created a lot of dirt and scuzz in the water. Added some new filters in and cleared up in a matter of hours.

The product was smaller than I expected. I didn't really check the dimensions. I just assumed it was the same size. Good news is that there were 2. The 2 are equal to the size of the one that I was replacing

Not much to say about these except that they work as expected. Its a little hard to tell how much carbon is actually in these. It could just be black cloth on one side and white on the other for all I know.

Would recommend this product to anyone. Great filter, easy to change cartridges. Important note, only change one filter at a time as you do not want too lose a large amount of your beneficial bacteria.

Please be aware that you receive 2 Carbon Cartridges in each box and NOT 1 as advertised. It makes a big difference to the quality of the water when they are changed.

these filters were purchased to be in our stock of fish tank requirements for the new filter aquired and most certainly the most economical way of quiring them.
