My dogs really like the dreambay it seem to be very comfortable and doesn't loose it's shape like so many other beds. This size should be ok for Retriever, the next bigger one is huge, maybe for Rottweiler or similar. It stays smart looking for a long time, but my dogs don't eat their beds so I don't know what other dogs make of it. It is quite sturdy and can tolerate a bit of digging as well ;-) It can be easily hoovered, I have only washed one once because it is quite a lot of work to get the stuffing back in. Best and most comfortable dog bed I know.

Dog loves it. Over the years we have bought 4 of these. We use 1 in the car and 1 in the house. They have had hard wear and been pretty robust being water resistant and easily kept clean and sweet smelling. Well worth the extra money.

Our German pointer loves his bed, I like it because it's hard wearing and I really like the colour, he had a blue one of these before which lasted over two years, will certainly get another one when this one wears out.

Very strong material, very good sturdy sides. Heavy to move about but that is because it is so solid. Needs a pad or quilt to make it softer for your dog to lie in. We are very happy with it.
