I was a little late to firewall Zero hour to be honest. I havent touched my psvr in months and ive owned the kit and around 10 games for it for just over a year. This was partly due to having a baby crawling around (wires and babies dont mix) you are constantly having to keep an eye on them so playing VR has had to take a back seat. Also, lets be frank, there aint been alot of must buy games released in the last few months. Im begining to be afraid that Sony, like the Vita, will be take the ol' VR helmet and dropping it. However i do still keep an eye on the VR just to see whats being released. Now when Firewall released not many people talked about it.....many of the major gaming youtube channels tend not talk about psvr, only the psvr based ones, and they having been raving nonstop about this game.So i picked up the game up and have to say its up there as one of the best vr shooters and well, one of the best vr games on the system. It plays a little like rainbow six mixed with a little counter strike, but obviously in VR.Unfortunatly this is an online based shooter, there is single player training and single player solo missions where you go it alone against like 50 bots in a level. These are quite good scenarios to learn the controls and learn the layout of the levels. So its really an online shooter only. You play 4v4 against people all over the world. You either start as attackers of defenders for each game. Unfortunatly there is only one game mode which is a little dissapointing. In this game mode if you are the attackers the idea is to hack a laptop. You win the matches either from completeing the laptop hacking or kill the opposite team. The defenders stop this from happening. Once you are killed in the game, you are out for the rest of the match, however you can watch the rest of the match by a series of cameras. You can help the surviving members of your team, by telling them where the enemy is.Its fast and addicting, however it has a difficult learning curve as i first played for two hours and only got 1 kill in around 10 games i played. I know i su*k, but the gameplay is so sharp thats it addictve and you cant stop playing. The best course of action is to communicate with the rest of your team.Theres plenty of skins, weapons and characters to unlock as you level up. So there is always something to work towards. I played using the vr aim controller, and it works brilliantly, its worth paying extra to get it, it really enhances the experience. It adds cool aspects like leaning your gun around a corner and blind firing. Also what is great is if your gun touches the environment it makes a knocking noise, its really well done. Most of the levels are really well designed and all a varied in different ways, some are more open and some are very close quatered. Now for the cons:Lack of modes to play, it would be nice for a just a few more modes like capture the flag etc would vary it up a bit.It would be nice to mix attackers and defender teams after a few rounds. If one team has an amazing team, the other team dont stand a chance. But this could be down to poor matchmaking.A single player campaign would be awesome in a sequel (if one ever gets made), this could be the psvr call of duty or like rainbow six vegas, because i doubt there will ever be a vr COD.Sometimes when aiming using the red dot the ammo counter gets in the way, this maybe down to positioning of how i am standing, but sometimes it just blocks the red dot so i dont have a clear view. This is not the games fault, but when shooting it would be awesome for the VR aim controller to vibrate, it does feel like your having a game of airsoft as theres no vibration.Overall this game has bought me back to VR and its great, theres only a few things that let it down, but its not game breaking. If i was to sit someone down who has never played VR i would stick this game on. I do hope a sequel comes out in the near future and that other AAA developers start to use the PSVR more. This would be in my top 5 vr games on the system and i highly recommend it.

TLDR; imagine the tactical and methodical gameplay of Rainbow Six: Siege, but in PS VR. Yeah, Firewall: Zero Hour is seriously fun, and has got some serious potential!I have attached a short clip of an entire round of the PvP mode, so you can see how the game plays (note: the game looks MUCH better IRL; the aspect ratio and resolution have been altered due to being recorded via the Share function on a PS4 Pro, as well as being compressed for the Amazon review).-----------------------------------------------------------------Pros:· An unparalleled VR shooter experience· The most refined PvP PS VR game to date· Well designed and intuitive controls· Audio design is superb; the direction/locationof every footstep and gunshot can be pinpointed exactly· Has incredible potential for growth and developmentCons:· Camera tracking can be frustrating at times if yoir setup isn't perfect· Lack of game modes, particularly for PvP (01/09/18)· Peer-to-peer hosting means lobbies are closed if the host quits· As of (01/09/18) there is a glitch that causes all XP/currency to be temporarily reset (quick fix is reset game)-----------------------------------------------------------------Firewall: Zero Hour is the tactical, first-person shooter game that VR has been desperate for. The tight and tense gameplay of this tactical shooter is enhanced dramatically due to being able to physically lean out of cover; peak around your corners, and "dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge" incoming danger. For arguably the first time for PS VR, Firewall: Zero Hour feels like a must-have title, and a game-changer for VR development. There is a solo mode if you prefer to go it alone against a swarm of AI, a coop mode vs AI (akin to a Rainbox Six Terrorist Hunt mode) and an intense 4v4 PvP mode for the ultimate skill test, well, when you're not dancing, shaking or laughing at some of the quirky VR tracking that is!Currently (launch weekend), my only criticisms are the lack of PvP game modes (current mode is basically S&D from CoD, but there's only one round) and the lack of a single player campaign, but considering the price, it's too be expected and is completely fair.-----------------------------------------------------------------Firewall: Zero Hour has been developed with the PS VR Aim Controller in mind, and it's obvious; the 3D tracking is accurate (for PS VR standards) and when movements are translated to gameplay, it feels intuitive and extremely similar to another VR shooter, Farpoint. It's not perfect mind you, as it still feels slightly off and takes quite a bit of learning, but it's a delight to have a game developed around use of the Aim Controller. The standard PS4 controller (DualShock 4) is also supported, but it is instantly obvious that this is not the intended experience. Playing with a Dualshock 4 controller is a very different affair; the overall control you have over the gameplay isn't even compatible, and doesn't even come close to the immersive, tactile experience that the Aim Controller provides.

Head and shoulders best VR game out. I only play FPS games on my Playstation but VR made me fall back in love with single player. Now there's a game of my favourite genre, in VR, and it's just as good as I'd hoped for. It makes me wonder why there aren't already more games available in the genre, seeing as first contact have made it so perfectly, now we know it's possible so theres no excuses.Matchmaking is a bit of a nightmare but it's still early doors. I suffer from anxiety and I don't chat to people online, only my own friends which I even struggle with at times. That was the main thing that concerned me when I ordered because none of my friends have VR. This game really relies on communication,I find it boring and unstructured if you play alone. I put myself in a lobby and decided to chat to people. It took me less than a minute to get over my anxiety. I've met plenty of decent gamers who I've enjoyed matches with, helping each other out. Calling out enemy locations and just looking out for each other. You feel a connection with people more online because the immersion makes you feel like you're really in there talking, so for me, this game has cured my anxiety and now I have loads of new people to play online with so I'll never be stuck for a partner or squad. That in itself is worth the price tag for me.Tracking is bang on, you need to hold the gun slightly lower than in real life but you adjust to this super fast. Customization makes a huge difference when you have your weapon in your physical hands and can inspect it. I love this game. If I didn't have a headset already I'd buy one just for this game. It's honestly a huge leap forward for gaming. Finally, I'm left handed and have zero issues with the aim controller. It just clicks and feels right after an hour or so it just feels like a real gun, then you become fully accustomed to it and can play with it as easily as you would a dualshock. 10/10 from me.Edit: Unfortunately my experience with the game has been taken down slightly due to the appalling customer service. Had issues with a few things since day 1 and have sent several emails only to be ignored every time. Got a response of Twitter once, but was given a support email address which just gets ignored. The game itself is fantastic but i'm reviewing this as an overall experience and a simple acknowledgement would be nice.

Zero Hour reminds me a lot of some of my favorite shooting games of all time: Counterstrike, Socom and Rainbow Six Siege. It's a slow paced tactical affair that requires you and your teammates to work together in order to succeed. This includes communicating by speaking out loud. This might put you off a bit if it's not the kind of thing you usually do, but I hope you give it a try because the community here is so strong and the game thrives from it.Mechanically you're looking at the first proper VR online shooter, or at least the first one worth playing. You are able to walk around the levels fully, looking in any direction you choose. You can also point your gun anywhere you like, including directions you're not even looking in or indeed 'blindfiring' around corners. It all sounds like obvious stuff, but the changes that this makes to your standard FPS rhythm is incredible. This really does feel like you're running around within the game.Surrounding those mechanics is a fairly strong round-based game mode of attacking/defending. Players have a wide array of different abilities, weapons, attachments, equipment and cosmetics to choose from that give your characters a sense of individuality. You can place traps or gadgets that will really help your team out and creative use of these leads to some of it's best moments. There have been some minor issues whilst playing it but honestly none of them detract enough from what this game is that they're worth mentioning. You could complain that the graphics aren't stunning enough for example, but it would seem pretty unfair for a game that is as ambitious as it is - honestly they're more than enough for the job. It's such an impressive feat overall that I really want it to do well. Games like this are risky for developers to put out there as there's the potential that people won't support them. So please if you're interested, give it a try. It really is one of my favourite shooting games of all time and I was utterly hooked on it when it came out.

Highly recommended for anyone with a PSVR, this is the type of game I always hoped for when I first purchased the headset, I havent had any problem in finding full lobbys, and even when people leave, it was quick to fill up again. However id advise that you buy this for multiplayer first as you wont get much value for single player alone (killing bots on all maps). Maps are well varied and has some detailed textures (not perfect but decent). Tracking is good and accurate (think farpoint). Fingers crossed this is the first step in the right direction for VR. Game lets you have access to custom loadouts similarily found in other 2D shooters. The game also supports both right handed/left handed views, snap turning and full locomotion (ps aim controller recommended). Naturally I am skeptical about whether this community will last in upcoming weeks/months however as of now, its been worth the price of admission.

Amazing game! Think being inside rainbow 6! Peeking around corners with your own head! Sticking a gun round a corner and blind firing! Realy fun immersive experience. Now a couple of faults which is it takes some time to get into a game somtimes ive found. waiting around can be iritating and games are hosted by people therfor if the host quits your exited from the lobby and have to rejoin a new game and wait for 8 players to join again... waited about 10 mins to get in a game before.... standing like a mellon with a flashy light helmet in the real world. But with those faults i still love the game and its one of my fave vr game so far resident evil still is well...nothing can beat resi yet!Buy and have fun!

Love this game. Not without some issues, like wandering gun and temperamental connection but these are not really the games fault.Looks great on VR. Controls good but can be a little awkward at times. Switching turn to ‘smooth’ helps.Games can be pretty quick but that’s not always a bad thing. Moving on keeps interest up.The game is really immersive and you really feelLike your in a different world. Teamwork is great and makes a big difference to what you can get from this game. Once you’re in, you feel like you’re living it.Great fun. Get it and enjoy.

this game is pretty basic and if it were 2d surely a $5 psn game. Its like counter striker or rainbow six siege but in VR. its the first real competitive fps game on psvr though and playing in VR makes it much more immersive and fun. Great being inside the maps, and communications online are great, mature and friendly gamers, VR seems to bring people together in a different way, being all in the virtual world together. Good being able to literally blind fire round corners and so on...Excited for the future but enjoyable for the time being.

Yes it's yet another peripheral to a niche accessory, but using it really takes you into the game. The immersion is unreal, when the VR headset is on and you're holding the Aim controller you forget that you're holding a lump of plastic. The game is great, there are a few small changes that are needed to make it amazing. Such as implementing multiple rounds so that you spend more of your time playing and less time in lobbies. But the game is so immersive with the Aim controller.

5.9.2018

Really intense gameplay, especially with a full team of operators all using chat. Like no other game I've played in thirty years of gaming, when you plan something and it works or improvise on the spot and it pays off, you get a massive sense of achievement. You'll hear plenty of people saying it's a ststem seller and whilst I don't think any one game would be worth the total cost of a psvr, a couple more games as good as this and superhot, definitely would justify the price.

31.8.2018

I was on the fence about this one, but I decided to bite the bullet and get it. The aim controller alone is worth the money but the game itself is awesome. Really tactical and not too fast-paced. I just wish I had more friends with VR, but this might persuade them. If you like military games like Rainbow Six and the old SWAT games you'll love this one. The VR adds so much immersion. The game needs some more games modes, but for the money, you can't go wrong.

Quite impressed with how polished this game is. In game customization possibilities for the loadout (weapon customization, tactical equipment, design) and contractor (primary and secondary skills): top notch! In game mechanics and freedom of movement in a 3D world, amazing. And all this just 2 weeks after release. There is more to come, hinted by the link to the PS store in the inventory as well. Hoping for skins akin to CS:GO here.Highly re-playable!

17.10.2018

I've found the PSVR under utilized, but this is the first game that I keep going back for more. It works so well, loading times are a little long, but the game runs well, is stable and looks pretty decent. It's Rainbow Six: Siege for the PSVR basically. It requires teamwork and communication to do well. Lone wolves cost their teams. The aim controller is essential, and really helps with peaking corners. This is a must for any PSVR game collection.

28.12.2018

What an excellent game. I haven't played any other FPS since this as having that extra power of having my look and gun separate and being able to shoot around corners without having to pop my entire character out of a edge just adds that extra realism to it.Word of warning and as with a lot of other games there are a lot of rage quitters but once you get a good team together this game really comes to life and is excellent to play.

18.12.2018

The game that keeps on giving. Not only one of the best PSVR games ever but as video games up there on the lines of space invaders and pac man on the evolution front.Yes it has some connection host faults which are constantly being worked on but the gameplay and enjoyment far out weigh these minor problems.Buy this new as I'm pretty sure you'll be hard pressed to find a second hand copy anywhere.A must if you own a PSVR.
