First the specs : Impedance 16 Ohm, Cable length 1.2 m, Weight 10g, Sens. 100dB/mW, Driver Dynamic, Housing ABS Coated finish. As supplied there is no pouch (which is surprising), 3 sets of rubber in ear buds of different sizes. The `housings themselves come one white and one red with the word "Final" stencilled on each with a small bump in the rubber wire housing on the white one to denote for the left ear. I can't comment on the wire connection into the buds as it's underneath the rubber housings but they feel pretty sturdy. The wire itself looks pretty standard, i.e. if looked after then should last quite a while and the plug that goes into a machine is `gold' plated and nicely finished. There, that's the product but that doesn't tell you just how good these are, marvellous is how good. I am totally impressed with the sound of these both for music and the spoken word. Most of my earphone listening is spoken word so I tried these with my iPhone and iPad on my current book, Alexandria read by Simon Vance, amazing the difference from my current set of earphones. Richer and more vibrant is how I can best describe the improvement. Using the same two "i" systems I played all my `test' pieces of music which range from Wagner to the Barton Belle's and the difference is just so much better, especially in the area of bass.I should add that I don't have any other `expensive' in-earphones having just the standard Apple one's and a pair of Soundmagic E10 ones, which I though were pretty good. I do have a couple of over ear ones, including the most expensive pair that Bose make so while I'm a long way from being an expert on the in earphones I do have an idea of what really good sounds like and these are just that, really good.If they have a `drawback' it's that once in the ear it's difficult to hear anything else - traffic noise etc. which could cause problems if one was out walking and not paying attention :-) They're terrific on the train though and just great for sitting out under the stars with bino's or a telescope (Astronomy in case you were wondering).

I needed to replace my Soundmagic E10 phones which unfortunately were broken when a large dog jumped up on me, pulling them out of my ears and in the process snapped the jack! Initially thought about the E10s again because for £30 or so they're about the best in their class.Came across the Adagio lll and was struck by the cool design with the right ear housing coloured red and the left one in white and after reading various reviews decided they were for me, even though twice the price of the E10s.Comparing the Adagio's with my 'best' earphones (Monster Turbine Pro-Copper) which are/were nearly three times the price of the adagio's, I was mightily impressed with the powerful bass and 3D vast airy soundstage. This deep but taut bass is only achieved after burning them in for between 30-50 hours, so possible buyers be warned, don't make a snap decision after listening to them 'out of the box', do run them in before passing judgement.I rated them five stars simply for their sound, the only slight quibble I have is that I wish the cabling looked a little more robust, which the Monsters certainly are and accessories are a bit sparse, only three pairs of silicone tips and no pouch but for me, how they sound is of more importance. One last point, supplied eartip quality is quite good but would advise obtaining Sony Hybrids, I think nozzle diameter size is 4mm, same as the Sony MDR-EX1000 phones. To conclude, I believe the Adagio lll's come pretty close to the performance level of more costlier earphones.

Final Audio's foray into the mid range earphone market doesn't disappoint in terms of sound but alas the build quality and packaging are a little lacking.Maybe I've been a little spoiled by the phones I've tested recently but opening these was something of a disappointment. No case, only 3 tip options and a cable that can only be described as fragile looking, all a little underwhelming at first glance. The earpieces themselves are chunky, worryingly so for someone with small ear cavities but my fears were misplaced. Although they feel big I managed to achieve a good, comfortable seal on my first attempt. The ear pads are coloured coded so no mistakes telling which ear is which.Trying a selection of music the first thing I noticed was the punchy yet full sounding bass, not woolly but rich and very satisfying. This wasn't to the detriment to the mids and highs which remain clear although the highs lack the sparkle of my old Sennheiser cx880's or the separation of my Klipsch x10's. Both those phones cost a good deal more but the Final Audios don't sound out of place in that company. For those keen on bass heavy genres, rap, dubstep, r&b these sound really decent but don't do so well for me on cleaner electronic tones.I'm not sure how well the thin cable will stand up to robust daily usage and I'd be a bit worried about using them while exercising but they should survive the daily commute or domestic use and will reward the user with a very pleasant sound experience.

I remember when earphones were, well, just that - earphones. Now they are a science unto themselves and cost perhaps as much as the device they are plugged into in some cases. These I have to say are quite something as they are very comfortable to wear with both thought and design given to the item in that they are not heavy at all, which one might consider when you read the specifications as you can only but wonder just how do they cram so much into such a small space, plus they stop in my ears without the old `dropping out a lot of the time' syndrome I have put up with in the past with other breeds but then again it does come with different sizes of pads/buds which you soon find out which is right for you and should stop the aforementioned falling out.On the sound issue, which is what they are really about, the bass is very good and given my old phones from a different maker I considered to be good, I have to turn these down a few notches as they are more sensitive and all the better for that. On the other tonal side, I found that they were a bit `down' but not by a long mark, compared to my last model as outlined above because I am comparing with a `known' substance to give a balance as such and that is why I mention this fact. Overall I am given this item five stars as I feel it merits that but for value and comfort, they are in a class of their own.

I was very pleased to get these headphones; as well as looking fantastic they provide very clear sound! As you can see from the photo, the headphones are "in ear" style and come with 3 different sized "heads" that fit in to your ear and are interchangebale on the headphones themselves (the sizes are small, medium and large) which allow these headphones to both fit well and be comfortable in people's years no matter age that perosn is or what ear shape that person has - its very different from the standard "one size fits all" headphones also on the market. The headphones provide good quality sound, and listening to music is a very "clean" / "clear" experience. However,I found the overall bass with these headphones to be far less heavy than my sony ones, and very very very light compared to my house of marley in ear headphones, which is why i held off giving these the full 5 stars. The headphones also come with a decent length of cord and has a volume control half way up them, which I found to be quite handy. All in all these are great headphones and well worth the investment if you can handle the reduced bass.

I hesitated over buying these because I wanted some thing comparable to my Seinheiser IE8's and my Shure SE535's both of which I own. You never can tell with peoples opinions of headphones since the reviews are very subjective to what you have listened to before. Obviously something will sound great compared to Apple headphones or similarly cheapies.I have to say though that if it is bass you want these are pretty special even straight from the box. They fit very nice and snugly with the standard plugs and I was immediately impressed by them within 30 seconds of listening to Anjunabeats Volume 6.I can easily listen to these in the gym and not worry too much about ruining them as I would with the Shures or IE8's.Seems Like a perfect price point for quality phones with great bass and sound.Obviously the Shures are better but the gap is not huge.No idea on their longevity as just opened the box.

These are decent enough headphones if a little on the expensive side. They produce a good sound but do tend towards the treble end of the sound spectrum. This is not easy to rectify with a good equiliser. They do tend to be stubborn about producing slightly tinny music. However, if you are not into drum and bass, house, techno, electronica, jazz, classical (basically if you are into pop) you probably won't notice the difference. If looked after I can imagine them lasting for a long time but, as always with in-ear headphones, the wires are easy to break. Also, they can become uncomfortable if used for periods of longer than an hour. They're packaged well and, if you have a pair of scissors,a chainsaw, some small explosives and a person with tiny yet powerful fingers, you should have no trouble getting inside.

I gave these headphones a road test on my tablet through my music collection - Rock to Classics, via Easy Listening and Audiobooks - and was very happy with their performance. They coped with heavy bass and quiet soprano. Very comfortable to wear. Whether they are worth the price compared to a lot of others - I can't say; that needs a professional test of direct comparisons - but I am using these main time now. I also like that the jack pin has the cable attached at right angles - that makes it less vulnerable to "pull out", a problem fairly common with in-line cabling, where the wires fragment eventually and the phones fail.

I have a pair of £300 Westone 3's which I loved. I think i like these better. For the price is amazing and the sound quality is amazing. I love electronic dance music which means bass is important to me. These have amazing bass! The westones are really good when you have lossless music, but I listen to podcasts mostly. This generally means low quality (by comparison) audio which the westones do not like as they pick up all the bad bits. These FADs are exactly what the doctor (of bass?) ordered. Why people are paying for Beats earphones when you can buy these bad-boys, I have no idea.

The sound on these is very good indeed - bags of base and really gives a big soundThere is obviously some sound leakage from them but in the quiet carriage on the train I did not get any comments from the people near me (I did ask) and I could could still hear the announcementsNegative points - not very good for running - kept dropping out which was a bindAlso the ear buds kept falling off in the bag and having to hunt around to find themBut the sounds was very good for the size and I use them when not doing sport

I really like this neat set of headphones which have provided me with hours of comfortable, continuous musical pleasure as I was able to customise them to meet my personal needs. They not only look good, but play really well. I love the deep, rich bass which does not adversely affect the higher ranges and find they perform well across a wide range of musical genres.Headphone selection is a very personal thing, but I think that they are nicely finished, very well priced and offer great value for money.

The title says it all really. There are in-ear headphones, work perfectly well, but compared to my Sennheiser's they put out a noticeably higher amount of bass.If that's your thing, then go for it.If not, you might find that they lose a bit in the higher registers - although they may just drown it out a bit.On the whole clarity is very good, they're comfortable, you get 3 earbud sizes to chose from, and they seem well made.Just be aware of what music you'll be listening to.

I'm normally an over ear headphone man, but they take up a lot of space, so thought I'd give these a bash. It took a wee while to get used to in ear phones again, but I certainly can't fault the sound. It may be a bit too bass heavy for some folks, and struggled with more acoustic sounds, but when blasting out some metal they worked a treat. I'm not sure they'll replace my regular phones, but they're certainly a good buy.

30.12.2013

I have owned and reviewed many pairs of headphones but not so many in-ear designs. I tend to like detailed, neutral reproduction of sound even when listening to bass-heavy recordings (my musical tastes are pretty wide from early medieval music through jazz, psychedelic trance and dirty dubstep!). With that in mind, I tend to compare my feelings on headphones to those I've used the most -

At last! I've been through a number of high end earphones over the years - Shure, Sennheiser,Bowers & Wilkins, but these are just the best I've ever experienced, and amazing value for the sound they deliver. Warm, punchy bass! Every time I listen, the way my music sounds puts a smile on my face.I just some bought Comply T200 tips to go with them too and now they sound even better.
