Purchase Price £410.57Update 23rd February 2020 - in use for more than 7 1/2 years. Continues to function without any issues. I am still using the the original bottle of oil oil it was supplied with!*******************************************Update 8th March 2017 - in use for 57 months (nearly 5 years! It continues to perform without fuss. I have continued to add a little oil to the cutters on every bag change**************************************Update 31st July 2015 - in use for 37 MonthsThis continues to perform without fuss. I fill a bag in about 3-4 weeks on average. I drip oil along the top surface of the cutters each time I change the bag.I was overenthusiastic and bought 3x large 355ml oil bottles but at this point I would probably have a little of the 120ml bottle that is supplied with the shredder. So far a reliable and sound investment.Update 21st March 2013 - in use for 9 monthsThis has continued to perform well I probably need to change the bag every two weeks. The overall performance is a step up on previous versions. One thing that could be improved other than a separate receiver for non paper materials would be to have an elastic cord around the top of the bin to keep the bags in place. The bags currently don't have even have any hooks to keep them in place. This has not been a major issue just a small niggle.****************************In use for 4 months. This was a replacement for my previous Fellowes SB-97C similar capacity and capability but slightly smaller which lasted for 5 years. I think it would have lasted longer if I had been bothered to oil it regularly as it instructs in the manual! This time round I'm going to oil it everytime I change the bag and see how that extends its life. These are not cheap but even if you are a moderately small business user the cost over 5 years including waste bags and oil will probably work out to be about £75.00 (inc. vat) per year for a top quality high capacity shredder. The one downside is that although it can shred credit cards and CDs it doesn't have a separate waste container for these - therefore recycling is an issue because any loads will be contaminated with non paper material. A workaround for this is to have a spar bag to put inside the paper waste bag each time you want to shred non paper items but it's a bit of a faff. The plastic guide that you are supposed to flip into place when shredding CDs is actually incredibly stiff on my model and I don't clip it back into place after using because I would need something to lever it back up to use it if I did.On the plus side is a new anti jam sensor which has a scale which lights up and prevents the shredder from starting if you try and jam too much in. This scale also allows you to work out the optimum number of pages to scan in one go. If a jam occursthe shredder stops shredding pauses for a couple of seconds and then trie sagain automatically. I foind this very impressive and it has always worked to clear the initial jam which is possibly down to the sensor being a little too cautious. I'm not complaining about that as it will obviously help to extend the life of the motor. The scanner also senses the heat of hands near the shredder opening and immediately cuts of the shredding motor.Another big improvement is the sleep mode which cuts in after two minutes of inactivity and helps keep the running costs as low as possible. I was always forgetting to turn off the previous model which remained warm to the touch.I find it relatevely quiet but IIt even looks pretty stylish - if a shredder can look stylish. If it was able to divert non-paper shredding to a separate waste container I would definitely give it 5*.?If my review has helped you, I would appreciate your giving me a useful vote. Thank you

The first machine delivered was damaged in transit, which was a disappointment and inconvenience. The second machine has been great. Although a significant investment, this product has proved robust, reliable, quieter and much easier to empty than previous shredders owned. The SafeSense Technology has avoided any problem with jamming, despite getting through large volumes almost daily.

Its quite a lot bigger than the other home shredders i have used but they all fill the bin quickly, don't take the number of sheets and break after not too much usage. if you are serious about security and home shredding then this is the machine for you..

After using a smaller version thought we would splash out and buy this bigger better version. And it absolutely is bigger and better and quieter. Love it !!!!

Delighted with it so far. Very solidly built, has a decent size drawer for collection of shredded paper and powers through multiple sheets of paper with ease.

as this was on sale, it was an excellent purchase, but if it was full price, it would be WAAAY too expensive

Excellent quality product - just right for a small office with plenty of paper work and a need for privacy

After nearly two years' use it has been completely reliable and - as advertised - jam proof.
