Was trying to decide on whether I spend an extra £10 to buy this grinder/ linisher or be tight and stick with a cheaper, less powerful alternative - so glad I spent that tiny bit more for this!It is a beasty.I use it loads for various projects, with various materials and it works absolutely brilliantly - much better than my old bench grinder and separate belt sander.Some people have complained that it isn't very well made because of the sanding belt alignment being off - you have to turn a single screw to adjust it and it will work perfectly, so ignore these sorts of people.It has some great features too; the extraction point allows you to keep the workshop relatively dust free,

I have to say i bought this unit as a used item from Amazon. Very good price all was excellent but it was not packed well and the light shade got crushed in transit. However Amazon sorted the problem out promptly to my satisfaction.I had previously ordered the Silverline set of 150mm wheels but they were just not up to it (see my review on these).These Draper wheels are the business. There is plenty of power for grinding and polishing. Not too noisy but importantly the motor does not get too hot after sustained use. The tool rests are much stronger and adjustable though a little crude. The guards are also much more substantial then the Silverline .I found the Silverline pigs tail fitted perfectly and makes polishing a pleasure with a suitable wheel.

Good value, and pretty well made for a budget item. I am a prop maker and do not do much metalwork, however I needed something to round of the corners on some pieces of 4mm aluminium plate. This it managed ok although if I pressed a little too hard it would slow the motor down. If I were a serious metalworker I would want a bigger and more powerful model, however for occasional or hobby use this is excellent value. The motor runs quiet and smooth, the bulb is fairly bright but the light throw is uneven, a different bulb may sort that. The machine may benefit from better quality grinding discs when it comes time to replace them. Please note that this type of grinder is not suitable for sharpening woodworking tools,

I'm pretty impressed with this, for the price. The grinding wheel is OK but once fitted with better belts, the sander has been really useful shaping mild steel. I'm actually finding the belt sander significantly quicker at removing material than my Makita mini angle grinder.It's a little bit fiddly to change the belts, and it is clearly not designed for heavy use: I melted a hole through the plastic spark deflector on the sander within a couple of hours of continuous use. Then again, I've just taken the guard off and it still works fine (if a little messy). Like all cheap power tools, there are tradeoffs but this thing is *massively* better than the basic £20 bench grinders you see.

This is a really good grinder/sander combo for the price. I've been doing a lot of work with titanium and it chews through it no problem so would be perfect for steel (knifemaking, linishing etc.) The grinding wheel is a little lack luster compared to the belt so I think a buffing wheel or wire wheel would be more suited to it. The work light is pretty good, the grill makes the light a little patchy but it alluminates well.My only complaint is that the motor housing gets rather hot so I wouldn't run it for more than 15-20 minutes as there's no venting I can see. All in all very good product, defo worth the money.

Works very well. Sanding belt had to adjusted using the wheel adjuster provided on the until but that was very easy to do. Seems to be surprising good quality and I sped that' my sanding job. I bought some extra belts at the same time but have not need to use them yet. It is worth reading the instructions because there are several pieces to be bolted-on.

So far I am impressed with this bench grinder, especially for the Money. I have not used it that much, but the motor is a nice soft start and its not that noisy. Great entry level unit. My only complaint is that you can not change the angle of the tool rest which is 90 degrees to the wheel but for the price and quality you cant expect everything..

Does a good job of grinding a bevel onto knife edges. Only drawback is the angle of the sander is fixed so makes it tricky for this sort of job. Fiddly to change belts but after a couple of goes I can change and line up in about 3 minutes. Not trashed any belts yet. Grinding wheel grinds. Overall pleased with it so far.

Very impressed with this. Good powerful machine that doesn’t stall. Great for grinding knives/tools and sanding. As has been mentioned the sanding belt should be aligned before turning on otherwise it will rip itself to bits. However this is easy to do by turning the belt by hand and checking it tracks straight

does what it says on the tin. no real complaints from a beginner. if you want to really sharpen your tools for precision cutting you will probably need other grinding stones, perhaps aluminium oxide stones. but otherwise it's great. the lamp is useful when working in my dark shed.

I brought this product to fit a new but pad to my shotgun and grind it back, it this absolutely no problems, since then I've had everything on there from axe heads, furniture legs, mower blades, and as yet dealt with all of it fine.For the money you can't go wrong really.....

Amazing value for money but extremely heavy so I can only see this being used in a professional workshop not in a hobbyists such as mine. Weighs nearly 15kg so needs a sturdy workbench so make sure yours is up to it as I had to return mine due to space issues.

This Draper bench grinder turns in to the best polisher I've ever owned! it's constant and sturdy and does not slow down when under stressGreat piece of kit!So if you're looking for a grinder for polishing this is the one from a name you can trust.

Love it but the tracking on the belt is a nightmare.The tiny rest isn't the best for knife making, so I will have to get around to building something around it.The stone is a beast though.

Excellent workhorse. Good torque and I can easily grind 10mm HSS lathe tools. Very pleased with it. Only looses a star because it gets quite warm after a while for longer operations.
