Since E3 back in June 2017 I have been so HYPED for this game.I am a huge DB fan, and a gamer, I've played pretty much every major DB game to come out since Budokai on the PS2 and I think this is the game we've been waiting for. There's a place for Xenoverse alongside this, but this game is a superior fighting game in every single way.Made by ArcSystem Works, revered among the FGC for games such as Guilty Gear and BlazBlue, they were tasked by Bandai with applying their craft to the DB license. Well, let me tell you, it's paid off BIG TIME.I've dabbled in fighters in the past, but this one is fantastic. It has a degree of accessibility for anyone who wants to get involved from the start, with 'auto combo' options to make you feel awesome and keep you in the fight, really simple execution of Super/Ultimate attacks (none of that Zangief 360 degree motions to get a basic super off!) and generally fast and smooth gameplay. It's strictly a 3v3 fighter, aside from some training areas or Story mode, so whilst it may seem basic on the surface, the depth is in creating your own combos and using the support and tag mechanics.Story mode itself is probably the weakest area of the game, but if you're new to the FG genre, it won't hurt to go through it and get accustomed to the controls and just basics like blocking and successfully pulling off Supers etc. before getting online and getting your butt kicked over and over and trying to learn how these other players do it!Online is a little ropey at times whilst the game is finding its feet, but there is already one planned season pass (FighterZ Pass) with 8 additional characters and this means ongoing support of the game in terms of playability and balance changes. For the most part, it works great, and finding a Casual or Ranked match is done within a minute whilst you run around the lobby as your Chibi avatars! All in all - this game has everything that a hardcore FG player would want and isn't too daunting for DB fans who are unsure. Starting 2018 off with a Big Bang - you need this game.

Fighting games have a reputation for being intimidating to get even competent with let alone good to say the least, but dbz is a candidate for maybe the easiest fighting game to get into outside of smash bros, and by that I mean compared to EVERY fighting game ever made, not just recent ones! The marriage between the dragonball brand and arc system works' fighting game creation expertise means this will probably be the most played fighting game of 2018 and maybe even beyond that.It remembers what the very mechanically similar marvel vs capcom series did right, and builds on that. The only things that let the game down is the unstable online servers and the somewhat lacking training and story modes.Everything does look amazing, but the story mode especially seems to have pointless padding, no doubt to pander to the 'if single player content isn't at least this long then it's a waste of money' crowd. To answer your main question you're probably asking yes this is both one of the best dbz and fighting games ever made. But a word of warning for anyone new to the fighting game community: this is NOT like other dbz games, when you play competitively people will try to win by any means nessisary. The concept of being cheap is ignored, if you give anything less than your best your win/loss ratio will suffer and maybe the hardest lesson of all: if you lose it's normally your fault. There's very few excuses and scapegoats in fighting games, that might not sound like a big deal but I've lost count of the number of people who quit fighting games when improving gets tough.

I'm not a Dragonball fan by a long shot but I am a massive 2D beat-em-up fan ever since the good old Streetfighter days, and FighterZ adds a whole new level to the fight genre, absolutely stunning state of the art manga anime style 2D graphics throughout the fights with some amazing animations and special moves that are explosive and will blow your mind literally, For me Capcom have lost the plot lately releasing lame streetfighter sequels to the PS4, if you want the latest and BEST fighter around then make sure you buy this! The story mode is LONG and will take allot of grinding and patience but you do get cool rewards from the game for winning! The fights vary from easy to quite hard and it all depends on your skills and mastering the moves, some are very easy to learn, there is several great fighters to choose too, you can choose to play various online matches and or go solo on Arcade modes, you can also choose a lobby Avatar while waiting for matches and customise it with costumes and colours just for fun, at the moment there are a few server issues that are annoying and you will get booted on occasion from lobbies, if your looking for the next best fighter then look no further, you don't need to be a fan of the series to enjoy this game, you just might have a whole ton of fun pulling of those amazing super combos!!!By the time you have completed the story modes (X3) you will unlock Android 21 playable and she is a great new character.

I will start by saying that i have been a huge DB fan for many years but with so many games from this franchise it got tiresome and i was really sceptical about it. I really wanted a good fighting game something close to the good old MvsC, then i saw Dragon Ball FighterZ. What got my attention was the art of the game. Instead of the 3D models and gameplay that they have been using so far with Xenoverse and the good old Budokai games, they brought us an amazing 2D fighting game and the graphics its like watching an anime episode. Yeap i was sold.If you are looking for a good fighting game and you are a fan of the manga/anime this one is a no brainer. The only bad thing is that the season passesare expensive.

Absolutely brilliant fighting game. I know nothing about DBZ or its characters, however, I had to get this as I'm a fan of Arc System Works other fighting games Guilty Gear and Blazblue (both also amazing), what sets this app art from the others is the simple move sets (most characters play like Ryu from Street Fighter) and the absolutely stunning graphics, makes you feel like your watching a fight from the animated series AND actually controlling what happens in it. Just stunning and pure class. This could be the best fighting game of 2018, and its only January! If you like DBZ: then buy it!, if you like fighting games: buy it!, if you just enjoy stunning graphics and animation: BUY IT!You won't regret it.

I like the story feature because you can move across the map fighting different fighters from the Dragon Balls universe, completing the stories.I also like the local battle mode because you can choose 3 fighters Vs 3 fighters of your choice. You also fight the arcade battle mode where by achieving a high rank you can unlock SSGSS Goku or Vegeta. There is also 3 on 3 tournament mode where your team must win 4 in a row to win the tournament. You can also watch or skip the others fight in the cpu vs cpu marches. All the special moves and signature techniques are in the game, making thus a must have for any Dragon Ball fan.

Ok so I bought it few months ago for my boyfriend's birthday, because I heard he liked it. Ok after around 6 months he used it ONCE and honestly it is the most annoying game ever. I tried to play with him once and I have NO IDEA what to do as apparently it doesn't matter which buttons you press ... nothing works. Absolutely crazy game and the music.... no comments... Arrived at time, no problems with the cd, is just I have too many regrets of the present I have choose. Definitely will buy a pair of socks next time.

Dragonball FighterZ is the best Dragonball based game of all time. Of. All. Time. Just let that Spirit Bomb drop for a minute.Gameplay works for both amateur button bashers AND more serous tacticians (particularly with the 3 vs 3 format) so nobody is excluded. The graphics are incredible, like you’re IN the anime / cartoon. There’s an original story too so you’re not trudging through the same Saiyan, Namek, Android and Buu sagas you’ve played on every other game in the franchise.

The game play both story, arcade and battle is excelllent. The graphics quality is unique and very eye catching especially when you complete the special power moves. What makes this game amazing to me is the characters, every unique chacter such as majin buu, picolo, goku (black) has their own fighting styles which have advantages and disadvantages that you can capitalise on winning each fight. To get the best experience, dowloading the dlc characters (chargeable).

Great game that captures the essence of the show. The roster out of the box is lacking, but if you're willing to invest in the DLC characters in season 1 and 2 it greatly enhanced the game.I say this is quite possibly the best DBZ game due to sheer quality of the gameplay. Budokai 3 is either on par, or just below this. It had inferior combat but the game was a vastly more complete package with hours and hours of gameplay and unlockables.Delivery came on time.

You'll decide whether you enjoy it or not, you'll have already tried this game but will be wondering how it stacks up against versions on more powerful hardware. I'm not going to lie, the PS4 version looks better with clean anti-aliased lines but the Switch port is like 98% identical. It really is that close. As a system that is crying out for fighting games, Dragon Ball Fighterz should be a must own cart for your Switch.

I have played very dragon ball z video game every since the Nintendo 64 games all the way through to this one and its definitely the best dragon ball z game on next gen. It's better than xenoverse 1 and 2 by miles. It's a must have for a dbz fan but it's also a very good fighting game. It's a classic fighting game like you played at the arcades. You must buy this game or I'll send vegeta on you

Finally a good old style beat em up returns to our consoles and it's DBZ what is not to love the game reeks of true awesomeness and really feels and has the great spirit of the anime within it the game-play is fast & furious but also wonderful to see hitting a special move feel oh so satisfying I am a massive fan of DBZ so there was no doubt I was getting this and I hope you all do to.

excellent video game I gave it to my nephew on his birthday and he was very delighted with his new game. i think the game is as good as dragon ball anime series. The best of all is that it is not the digital game if it does not include the physical game cartridge. I recommend it 100%
