Let me say first of all, to the other reviewer, please don’t give this game one star when your issue is the game blue ray not being there, that has nothing to do with the game itself. This game is amazing. A love letter to dbz fans, especially the ones having grown up with it like myself. The graphics are amazing and so is everything else. The voices (in English) are the original cast and so is the music (with some slight variations)The RPG elements are amazing for what this game is, don’t expect a Witcher or Skyrim though as this is Dragon ball!!!Pros:-amazing graphics and fully rendered videos-awesome fighting with just enough difficulty for it not to be “easy”-game is about 40 hours “rushingthrough” and about 100 hours for a completionist (or fan...)-original voices from the original show over 20 years ago-you are a frickin Sayan!!!-fun side missions, fishing with your tail, priceless!-destructible environments!!! (Yes, smash your opponents in to the ground or through a mountain range!!!)Cons:-game is locked on console at 30fps-collecting orbs (you’ll see what I mean...) is annoyingConclusion:Any fan of dbz should get this game and revel in nostalgia. All the bad reviews written about this game were written by some millennials who were about 3 years old while we grown ups enjoyed the show and they don’t see this game for the amazing love letter to fans that it is but compare it with other games and mark it down. They say the side missions are just fetch quests and complain about the fighting mechanics not being complex enough...laughable. This game is made by a fairly small company under Bandai and did not have the same budget like for example every silly millennials favourite Fortnite has. This game is simply awesome and anyone who has fond memories of dbz and two fighters starring at each other before the fight for 127 episodes will live it, guaranteed!Ps: this is a genuine review of this game on PS4 pro.PPS: no millennials where hurt during this review and anyone worrying about the former is encouraged to call the “I need my safe space” hotline on 033356....

First of all. I’ve been waiting for a game like this since I was around 8/9. Now I’m 23.Waiting for it to arrive filled me with joy and brought back wonderful childhood memories. However I was a little bit let down when playing, it started defaulted in Japanese (not too much of an issue). The play through is part story from the episodes and part cinematics, I kind of like this, if you’re new to DBZ or just want a refresher, this is great for you, if not you’ll find yourself pressing option, skip movie, and holding Square to fast forward before you can move.I know the graphics are designed to be cartoony like the series and movies but it just doesn’t feel up to 2020 standards compared to therest of the market for its current price £49.99 on pre release. It feels like this should be a ps3 game from 2008.You do not start with all the skills, you learn and progress more as your character grows up with you, which I like.I’ve played around 6-7 hours content so far and overall I am impressed. Fishing seems tedious however, the same animation each time.Fighting at first is hard to grasp, once you have a method and get to grips with it, it becomes very easy.Overall 4/5. Maybe the rest of the game will change my opinion for that extra star

Been playing this since I received it on day release, it's a much better improvement to past Dragonball z games and I am really enjoying it and the story is very long I have only completed the Sayine Saga and Freeza Saga and that's after playing for 12 hours on day released. Theres so much more to do and the storylines are nice and long and very detailedControls are a bit hard but you do get use to them. You see things like King Kai planet and snake way when Goku dies after defeating Radizt and you see Bulma, Gohan, Krillian journey in the Namakian ship to planet Namek. To be honest it's like watching the whole sagas on dvd. I would highly recommend for any Dragonball Z fan. I am just starting the Android saga.Collecting Dragonballs is quite easy to. I am loving itHope this review helps you all.

Bought this for my girlfriend for her birthday and only seen the first couple of hours but as a dragon ball fan, it seems to tick all the boxes. Colourful graphics and great voice acting. It must be said that for gamers who have played the previous DBZ games like xenoverse then there will be a slight feeling of copy and paste as once again it flows through the key events of the series. That being said they have opted to try and make it more of an RPG experience this time so expect a selection of side quests and activities to break things up. The main gripe I have from what I saw was the camera seems to be a bit crazy during battles against multiple enemies,I would have thought by now they would of developed a smoother hard lock system.

This game is the perfect game for fans, and is what they have waited for. Being able to roam and do side missions, not being forced into solely battles or lineal path. However, it should be renamed to Gohan, since you play the majority of the game as him... don’t get me wrong I’m a fan of Gohan, but if it were true to it’s name it would focus on Goku’s story, which it unfortunately doesn’t. I was hoping to be able to be Goku in ‘other world’, travel snakeway and later fight/train with Pikon. This is skipped entirely, I’m sorry to say. That being said, the story is great as you’d imagine. Also, the DLC’s have you play as Goku more and go into Dragon Ball Super story!

This game is very fun. You play as the different heroes of earth from dragon ball z and play through the story of DBZ. There's lots of side quests, missions and training fights to help you get stronger. As you complete side quests progress through the story, you will make friends with more characters and earn their soul emblems. You can put these soul emblems in community boards. There is multiple community boards to slot your emblems on, like the cooking and z warrior boards. You can also fish, mine and cook. Cooking and eating food will power up your characters so you can win against stronger opponents. My favourite part is progressing through the story.

It's enjoyable and I like it loads..i can't really fault it to be honest. However after a couple of hours the side quests can become more of a chour than fun.But overall this is like watching dragonball kai but and even highly edited version of kai so you could say kakarot kai kai.I love the voice overs both English and Japanese. And the sound effects are perfect. The graphic feel like that cartoon and the overall feel is perfect to the feel of dragonball. If you loved the series then this game is for you. It's nice to finally play a game that plays like it's finished and has no online influence to it. So far I have had hours of fun.

Out of all the Dragon Ball game experiences I've had this has to be the best! Charting Goku's adult life from the beginning of the Saiyan saga through to the end of the Buu saga, this game is a great nostalgia trip for longtime fans of the manga and anime. The side missions can be a drag at times, but the main quests, exploration and battle mechanics are satisfying and addictive. Especially as you boost the stats and power of your favourite Z warriors. This game isn't without its flaws, but all in all this has to be the best Dragon Ball gaming experience to date!

One of the best dragon ball games I have played. It is refreshing to play a RPG action dragon ball game. If you love dragon ball z or never watched the anime it is great. You play through the whole saga. The combat has some depth to it however once you get aoe attacks it can become pointless. The thing I didn’t like about it was there is lots of content for the first two sagas then once you get to the cell saga it is very light on content and pushes through to the end.I would still get it for a depth of content and good gameplay with a fun story.

The game is the best telling of the DBZ so far with all the bits in between fights. The gameplay is solid and controls are good. The camera can get annoying when fighting sometimes can't see the character. The loading is extremely slow and some dialogue has no voices just text which they could easily of done. Some of the content is cut from the anime like garlic Jr, tien helping Gohan fight buu, vegeta not seeing Goku as a super saiyan fighting freiza. It's just those little details you notice but if don't compare it too much exactly quite good.

I've played all previous Dragon ball games, and each had their own goods/bads about them. This game is the one if you want to relive the Dragon Ball Z story all over again whilst actually playing it. I'll keep this short, as I don't want to spoil anything for those who haven't played it. The game starts from the Saiyan saga all the way to the end of the Majin Buu saga. And the best part is that you can turn on the original English dub as well. A great game overall.

If you enjoyed any saga or version of DBZ you will love this game. Side quests answer series questions you might not've known or noticed, combat is simple but effective (similar to Xenoverse) and the abilities let you actually feel powerful.Sometimes movement feels a bit tricky but is greatly over shadowed by the fun this game providesI bought the season because of how awesome the game was and I dont even know what's coming but I'm looking forward to it

As massive fan of the whole saga I am absolutely loving it! It's like playing Dragon Ball Z series on the xbox. One thing bothers me insanely which is very complicated skill and character development system. It takes some time to get used to it and to start using its whole potential (purpose). Also once installation is completed an upgrade is necessary (12 Gb). Besides all those tiny flows it's a great treat for the fans or advanced fighting games players.

Bought it elsewhere .The game is fantastic , best dragon Ball game ever made.It tells the story of Goku and it narrates perfectly every event that took place in the dragon Ball z series .Its perfectly executed where scene is perfectly matching the animated series , it's like watching dragon ball z again but you can also play as the main character with open world. It's a must buy for every dragon ball fan.

Bought this for my partner who is DBZ crazy, it arrived very quickly but.. it could have come in more secure packaging, it came in a box where the game gase was just rattling around hense why I have only given four stars. Luckily it didn't damage the case or game but it would be a good idea to make it a bit more secure next time. My partner loves the game and hasn't stopped playing it since he got it.
