I've been buying and wearing Dr Martens for about seven years now and I own several pairs, all of which I have bought after trying them on beforehand in a store. Knowing the product well, I know that in general I wear a size 7, despite wearing a size 8 in all other brands of footware. I am a woman and so I would suggest if you can't try on a pair beforehand, perhaps go for a size smaller than you would in a trainer or shoe. A walking boot is a good comparison but these boots are generally on the larger side as they are intended to be unisex.I had been looking for a dark brown pair for a few weeks and was lucky enough to stumble upon this pair on Amazon for less than £80 and although this might seemed like a lot of money to pay for a pair of boots, knowing the product well, I knew it was a good deal. I couldn't find another similar pair for less than £110 brand new on the internet or my more local stores. This pair is a lot softer in the leather than my previous pairs, which leads me to believe they may also be a little less weather resistant, so it's important to use some kind of protector on the leather. Although Docs are somewhat water resistant (fear no puddle) they are not repellent or all weather resistant, so be careful! These boots generally take some time to break in and shape to your foot. Because the leather stretches it's important not to go rambling in them straight away. I recommend wearing them a few times for short periods just to get used to them. It's very common to get blisters between your heel and the top of your foot if you don't break them in properly, and even then, you might still get some rubbing. If you're concerned I recommend sticking large plasters to the inside heel of the shoe for the first week or so. Please don't let this put you off, as once they are comfortable, these are the best brand I have ever owned.Pros for Docs in General*The soles are thick and resistant, after years of walking around in them, there is still much wear left.*The leather stretches*Feet are kept very dry in rain and walking through big puddles*Last for years*Loads of varieties available*Unisex*Shoelaces last (I've not needed to replace a pair yet!)*Can pull on easily with the tagCons for Docs in General*Can be uncomfortable when new*Patterned pairs can erode quickly (even though the shoe itself is hard wearing)*On the large size for most women*More expensive than other brands

Price:Was concerned that this product had a small defect that bypassed the quality checks, or were leftovers/from wholesale to be on Amazon at an unbeatable price. Even at the Dr.Marten's OUTLET, these boots were more expensive and not many sizes were available in this popular color. At the time when I purchased these, they were 15euros cheaper than anywhere else (small promotion on few last sizes on Amazon).Delivery:The delivery (during Christmas weeks!!!!) was prompt. With prime, arrived to NL within 2 days. Packaged well by seller, so there were no problems wrapping this up as a gift in the perfect condition it came. This means that boxes, tags and stickers, and tissue paper all perfectly intact (important indicator on returned or defect goods).Quality:After very very thorough inspection, there was not a single flaw to be found. Docs are so classic, versatile and has never let me down so far. This was my first time purchasing Docs from a non-retailer, and I'm happy that this was not an exception to my so far very satisfying Docs experience (5 pairs).Fit:Buyers should remember that Docs make various leather (smooth, vintage, patent, vegan) of same/similar model in same colours, which could explain the sizing discrepancy. This is not necessarily an indication of defect good or different quality versus in-store products, but mainly because of the leather, the model style (1460's come in various styles for example), and most importantly the sizing used. Most are unisex (men) size unless it specifies size in womens (or youth) on the box and the tongue of the boots. These pairs were given for a gift to my mother in law whose size is EU36-37. Item description does not indicate this but to our relief, the ones delivered were WOMEN's size 37, NOT unisex 37. She is in her mid 50's and is so impressed with the comfort and 'bouncing' that is the trademark of Docs. They fit her perfectly, and they really look great with any of her outfits. She has now joined the Doc Side.Hope this review helps others in finding their perfect pair!

I originally ordered my usual size 9, but found them too big. I wore them for a few days and the outer coating started to come away on the instep crease. It bubbled up to begin with, then cracked and peeled off so I returned them. All in all I'd had them less than a week, so I'm not sure if this was a defective pair.Anyway, I was determined to have them, so armed with this knowledge I ordered a size 8 along with some wax to treat them and keep them supple. In terms of the size of the sole around my foot they were spot on, but they were very tight over the instep. I knew this was to do with the newness of the leather and that they just needed breaking in properly.I waxed them daily to successfully avoid the fate of the last pair, but the wearing-in period was long and brutal. It was around three weeks before the instep tightness was relieved, and I was nearly convinced a few times that it just wasn't going to happen. But it did, and they now fit like a glove. I'm about four months into wearing these daily now, and they're fantastic. They're good dressed up or down; I've worn these with a suit, day-to-day office wear and jeans, and they just look right every time. I go from wearing them Monday to Friday in the office then straight into the weekend. They've got a go-anywhere feel to them, the sole is - as you'd expect - thick and protective, and there's no shortage of waterproofing. They're an all-rounder. The 4-star rating rather than 5-star is just for the extensive and painful breaking in period - I've never had this with any shoes before to this extent, either in how much they hurt the feet or how long it took, and I certainly wouldn't have bothered if I hadn't loved the look of them so much.So a quick summary;- An absolute classic style.- Sizes run a bit large, I needed one size down from my regular.- The breaking in period is brutal.- Once they're broken in they're unbeatable.

These boots are both fashionable and practical. The bouncing sole design is by a doctor who had suffered a severe ankle injury. He wanted a shoe which would provide ankle support and absorb some of the shock that walking causes to your body each time you take a step. So he designed the first Dr Martin boot for himself, so that he could walk comfortably again. I am very satisfied with my pair. I like how they are made of leather so there are various balsam & polish type products available, allowing you to care for & condition your boot leather, waterproof it and make it last longer, as well as remove dirt & dust, thereby keeping your boots nice and new looking. My ankle injury actually feels better with my boots on,and they are more attractive and fun to wear. The shock absorbing soles really work! The leather does take a minute to break in. The tongue part is part of the boot, not separate like most boots. There are two folds that initially hurt a little making one at first wonder if the boot arch is not built high enough for one's foot. They also rub the heel at first enough to cause small blood stains on your sock for the first few wears. But after applying balsam to the folds on the sides of the tongue and continuing to wear the boots, (leaning into the discomfort) they broke in nicely and I have no more problems. There are no half sizes, so round up if you are a half size, because you definately don't want them to be on the tight side. I wear a 7.5 or 8, and the 8 fits me perfectly. I think Dr Martin's are overall better and more durable than other brands that are made from vegan leather and have regular rubber soles that wear out in a year. Also they seem to come with the Dr Martin's insert sole that is also sold separately, so you won't need to buy that too if you invest in a pair of boots.Enjoy and God bless you.

I have long coveted a pair of Doc Martens, and in need of new pair of boots I decided that now was the time to get some. I particularly like these tan leather boots as they have all the features that Docs are famous for (air cushion sole, good quality leather, chemical resistant etc,) but unlike the black variety they don't look like skinhead boots. A nice compromise for me.Look - The leather looks great, a slightly mottled tan with lots of grain visible and a well worn look to it. Really stylish.Fit - I am usually a size 11 with a wide fitting, and have had trouble in the past wit 11s that are not wide enough, s I require a 12. No such problems here, the 11 is exceedingly roomy with a decent wide fit.Comfort - It's not many shoes that are so comfortable I can take them out of the box and walk three miles with out carving up my heels. But these are exceptionally comfortable, and have required no breaking in at all. I walk 2-3 miles to work every morning (and the same home at night) and have had no troubles at all. The boots are not only comfortable around the heel, but they provide a huge amount of support around the ankle. They are one of the best pairs I have had in terms of comfort.Durability - I work in a chemistry lab and have troubles with shoes essentially just dissolving with the chemicals around the place. No such trouble with these babies, they seem exceedingly durable. In all honesty I cannot find a criticism for these shoes. For me they are perfect and just what I was looking for. 5 stars.

A while back i bought a very nice pair of brown boots as a daily wear to college, after about 4- 5 months i had completely worn the heels to the bone and the leather was becoming ruined. So before they were destroyed i decided i needed a pair of boots that could live up to the elements (i have to walk through a field that turns into a mud bath when it rains) so i needed something strong with a strong heel and sole (i have worn these through snow, thick mud and have submerged these boots, so most you could probably throw at them), after searching i finally decided to go for a less posh look and get something as posh but more rugged and these boots are perfect. They look incredible in both smart and casual attire and go with basically anything. They soon became my favourite pair of boots i've bought. Sadly these boots are no longer made in the UK and some reviews suggested they were never as good as the old ones, as i'm only a teenager i was never around to see the originals however my father who used to wear the same boots back in the day said "i am jealous and they look and feel like the originals"I definitely recommend these to anyone looking for a great pair of boots that will last forever just make sure you look after them. Before you start wearing them walk around the house in these for about 3 days to break them in otherwise you will have some sore feet.

- DeliveryProblematic delivery to Italy with Parcel Force Worldwide. When I track my item there's a problem with address (insufficient), but it's the same address with which I have received numerous expeditions. So I contact Parcel without results and then the seller "Masdings" who reply to me very soon to have sent infos to Parcel for me. So to prevent possible return of the item to UK caused by "insufficient" address, I start to contact some italian couriers at delivery depot near me (without know who has my item!). I'm lucky because with my second phone call I talk with the one who has my item and ... he say to me the informations on the item ... completely wrong street and phone number!I don't know who and why ... but someone change this information.- ItemThe boots are a bit 'tough at the beginning but after having kept them at home for a day have already become soft. The color is a bit 'dark but it is due to the fact that the skin is slightly greasy. When you start to bend them, you see signs that are a bit 'clearer that make the skin beautiful and experienced. Paid only 90 pounds instead of 129 on sale...in Italy it's very cheap!- In conclusionBad experience with this courier, but the product is perfect! So despite everything I'm very happy! :-)

Wore Docs back in my twenties, back then they were made in the UK and took a month to break in and lasted years. Now in my forties I needed to find shoes that fit and that are comfy and that I can wear all day long. So I bought some Docs and I'm chuffed that they still work so well. Okay they are made in China or Vietnam or Thailand depending on the style, and they don't take anytime to break in any more and perhaps they won't last years with consistent wear. That said I've had this pair for over a year and I wear them everyday on my motorbike and they are in great shape. The laces went after some time and getting replacements proved tricky black laces looked dreadful against the brown and I really struggled to get the yellow/brown striped laces that came with them,so it would be awesome if you got a spare pair of laces, but you could say that about a lot of shoes and boot s I suppose.I don't know what made me got for the brown, I'd never had a brown pair of boots before, but I'm glad I did, they go with everything, blue jeans, black jeans... Just make sure you buy yourself a brown belt to match.

Note this is the unisex model. read online reviews and ordered a size down from my usual size as it's not a ladies fit. (And then panicked it would be too small) This meant that the lower size was the correct size and matching the soles with a pair of sketchers that is one size up they match pretty perfectly. so worth bearing in mind although online forums seem to differ in terms of this sizing issue. This pair was made in China (unlike my original British pair) and did not include yellow laces which it seems some people got as a free bonus pair.Forgot what a pain they are to break in but after dancing around the house with large socks on for over a week, they seem about there in terms of comfort beyond the usual issue with docs - ie they are not the LIGHTEST shoes to wear on your feet!Have yet to see how well they wear over time. Already showing signs of creasing to adapt to my feet (even though i did give them a bit of a polish which brought up a shine and seemed to help soften them.) Last pair didn't go much past 4 years so not sure how people talk of keeping docs for a decade!

These are the first pair of Docs that I've owned. Docs are quite expensive but I wanted a pair of boots that would be sturdy and long lasting which is why I didn't mind the price. Hopefully they'll last a long time. They are incredibly stiff at the moment and I was a bit worried at first but after a bit of googling I see that, apparently, this is perfectly normal. I am gradually breaking them in by wearing them around the house for an hour a day and already I'm starting to notice an improvement in fit/comfort. I am a size 4 with a high instep. The length and width are great but they were really tight to begin with over my instep.Where the tongue is stitched into the boot is quite narrow for me and it did take a lot of tugging to get my foot inside to begin with but apparently this is quite common for a lot of people. I just wore really thin, silky socks and used a shoe horn the first time I put them on and now I no longer need to as I am breaking them in.

Wanted a pair of Dr Martens for a while now and saw these for £50 which was a steal, overall I find the shoes rather comfortable and extremely sturdy. Saying this though it will take a little while to get them 'worn in'. The one problem I have with them is not the fault of the shoes but rather the foot-well of my car and the shoes I am accustomed to, because they are much bigger than the shoes I wear more regularly I find driving in them a bit difficult as you cant 'feel' your feet and judge the pressure you are putting on as with shoes with as thinner sole the same this should improve however as time goes by and I get the shoes worn in and get used to wearing them.Overall a great set of footwear and well worth the money,my Dad has been wearing his pair for around ten years and they are as sturdy and as comfortable as ever just after such a long time the tred has worn down to almost nothing however this gives you an idea of how long they will last.

I love these - they actually look better in real life than they do in the picture, hence I gave them 5/5. The item was delivered in 4 days. Certain sellers on rival sites could learn from them as this really does make a difference as to whether or not a customer is completely satisfied. I've been looking for a pair of DMs for a while now and I couldn't be happier with these. They look so cool! They rub a little at first, but that is just the nature of the material (patent leather). Once you've worn them a few times they're absolutely fine. I certainly didn't get blisters when I first wore them. Also, the tongue squeaks as it rubs against the inside of the shoe but this can be solved with a little Vaseline (aka Petroleum Jelly)on the tongue.I'd recommend these to anyone who wants DMs that stand out from the crowd. Being a brilliant white, they certainly draw stares when I'm out and about! In short, highly recommended from a first-class seller.

I love these boots, and I had to edit this review as I had to return them as the one that looked different started leaking rain water in and my foot was soaked! Think these boots have been glued and not heat welded and sewn like the authentic Dr. Martens off their official site. I ordered authentic docs from their site and they're like wearing slippers compared to these! They're a little snug especially with a thicker sock. The colour is amazing, not in your face. The one boot looked slightly different in shape from the other and is rubbing and digging into the back of my heel and leg, I am leaving them open past my ankle so they don't cause further damage as my foot now has a sore on it where it's rubbed.I am having to wear a bandage to stop it digging in me any further. I would think this will settle down when they are worn in a bit. Docs are notorious for being hard to wear in. Seller recommended. Fast delivery. Well packaged. Good price.

Item arrived on time, first of all. As soon as I opened the parcel, and the shoe box, I realized I was in front of the best boots I ever bought in my life. Tried them before buying in a couple of shops, and unfortunately looked like I was in the middle between sizes 7 and 8. Size 7 very short and painful for my feet, size 8 way toooo large. I decided to risk and go for a 7 then... and I was totally right. Leather is of a really good quality, and took not more than 4 days to break in the boots. It expands up to a few mm, and gives you just some standable pain at first. One blister only, on my right heel, and that's all: now they're the most comfortable shoes I ever got. I use them to go to work, have walks around, sometimes I dance also... they're just perfect and comfy, keeping feet warm and dry. I got the boots in brown colour, and I might buy black as well soon. Would totally recommend them to anybody: they fit and look GREAT.
