Almost gave four stars instead of five because in less than a year, the sole is separating on one of them. It can easily be glued back together so not a real problem. Otherwise I love them. I can put them on in the morning and not take them off till bedtime. It takes 3 min to lace them up, and almost 2 min to get them off, but that's 5 min a day well spent. I don't ever use shoes, I always wear boots. I had wanted a tall boot that would look good when wearing shorts without having any socks showing above the boots. Had tried some that were about 8 to 10 inches tall, but they looked kind of "dinky" on my tall frame with long legs, and, therefore, didn't really create a masculine look.Tried some super tall "lineman's boots, but they were way too tall (almost to knees) and looked rather odd if worn with a short pant, so they were only used with long pants. I saw these 14 eye extra tall Dr. Martins and correctly thought they would be the perfect look that I wanted and they were. They had the side benefit of being very comfortable, and beyond that feeling very good, like you really don't even want to take them off. As for size, depending on the brand, I use either 11 or 12 (USA sizing), and initially ordered 11. it fit and felt ok at first but started hurting the toes after a couple hours. I gave them to my son and ordered a size 12. It fit perfectly. Mine are the "made in China" version, can't even find this style in a UK made, but the quality is very good and after a year of wear, they still look close to new, the soles are barely worn and the leather isn't scuffed up in spite of working on my car in them, crawling around inside aircraft at work, doing yard work with them, and generally giving them a workout through my normal activities.

Have you worn Docs before? If the answer is yes, then you don't need to read this review. Just hit put in cart and have them in two days because your are smart enough to to know good foot wear and the deal that is Prime.If the answer is no I have never worn Doc, then rhe answer is only slightly different. Put in cart, but make them one size bigger then you would normally want. Then go to pick out a good set of in soles for them... Spend a few dollars, don't be super cheep. Then use your Prime to get your awesome books in two days.It works like this Docs were designed in post WWII England to make the most comfortable shoe you could get in a world where absolutly nothing was comfortable.Now I will gladly grant you that Docs look amazing. Let's face it that's why we buy them. But they aren't that comfortable by today's standards. Keep in mind this is a boot that was designed when you sharpened pencels using a knife, and the Germans has just stopped being a problem... Do your feet the joy of putting in soles in what is one of the most iconic pieces of iconic foot wear in world history. The Doc is for England what the Chuck is to America. So go buy yourself a piece of history.

So I've been throwing myself into a older style with my attire but had been lacking decent footwear for some time. I spotted these boots and even though they had a big price on it, I knew it was either overpriced, or really good quality. Thankfully I got the latter and wasn't let down at all.Top quality leather used in these things that is durable yet flexible. It even comes with a note describing what you can do to the smooth leather used in construction of these boots. As you'll already know they do take some time to put on and take off but if you leave them on most of the day that isn't really an issue. For new boots they are certainly very comfortable right out of the box but I did buy some Dr.Scholls insoles before I got these.The boots are very form fitting and don't have a lot of extra bulk where your foot doesn't need it but the flexibility in the leather provides extended comfort.So they look great, fit well, are comfortable and are made with great quality materials. So what's not to like about that?

I had wanted a pair of Dr. Martens for a long time, and I wasn't let down after ordering these. The delivery was quick and efficient, so no faults there. The boots /do/ hurt considerably during the first few weeks of wearing them as the stitching at the heel is quite stiff, but after breaking them in, these boots are some of the comfiest I have ever owned. I have worn them on long walks, to concerts, festivals, school and even formal occasions, and they have never let me down. They are my go to boots and my safety net. The quality is very high, which is expected from such a respected brand. After 2 years, I have noticed a bit of scuffing around the toe area,but I'm not gentlest with them so I wouldn't consider this to be a fault in their quality. The fabric of these boots also makes them very easy to clean, which is desirable for someone who tends to end up with some very muddy boots at the end of the day like myself. I would definitely recommend these boots to anyone.

perhaps because my feet are narrow, these boots are the best fitting boots i have ever tried. have always been told dr martens will at first be the most uncomfortable shoe one can buy, however it is the total opposite for me. size it so perfect, and the the airsoles work so well and do make a difference to every step. i always skip a lace hole at the bottom of the shin to allow ease of movement and for the boot to bend with the foot. also only lace up half-way up the boot, again for greater ease of movement. the only negative about this boot is the lack of sole material. this is the same with the majority of dr martens boots. due to the lack of sole material by the heel they simply just wear down quicker,and for an expensive boot this is not ideal. however i wouldn't choose differently because of this as the comfort and style is worth it for me.

I had not realized Docs needed so much maintenance just to be worn for the first time. I have waned original Docs for years and couldn't pass up this price! I was so excited! But then they came, and I out my foot in them. Holy cow, the top of these boots are **TIGHT** but the toe area felt nice so I couldn't imagine they were too small. I took to the internet & found out that's just how Docs are, they need to be majorly worked in. I learned my feet will bruise and blister but supposedly it's worth it. Currently pregnant so I haven't worn these in much yet, but I read wearing around the house an hour at a time should help. I very much look forward to the day I can wear these comfortably!Great price!

So, when I bought these, they got a neutral review and I didn't feel that impessed by them. Thigh length, not to be done up to the top, so I was disconsolate.Now, I'm totally hooked on these, and so very glad I kept them. I'm 5ft3, so for any festival I tend to lean towards big stompy boots so I can see stages over tall people.. but now actually these are my favourite. They go with my combat trousers, my kilt, everything. And I now realise how nice people are to short people at a festival as well! They did cut into the achilles the first time I wore them, but that can easily be avoided with a plaster.In short? If you're undecided, buy them. If you're in any doubt, still buy them. They rock.

In 2005 I bought a pair of Dr. Marten shoes, 6 years later they show hardly any wear and I have worn them a lot! Having failed to find a hardwearing pair of leather boots in the local high street shops I thought I would try Dr. Marten boots. The first time I wore them I developed blisters on my left heel. Having found some excellent anti-blister socks I have had no further trouble! (The lacing up does take a bit of getting used to, but I've got it down to 5 minutes now.) I'm lucky to work in an office where staff are encouraged to dress down, as I don't think these gorgeous leather boots would be acceptable in every work place, except maybe under trousers, but why hide these beauties?

I am a size Uk 6.5 to 7, but these felt too big to start off with, and needed to purchase heel grips + insoles + thick socks to get the boots to fit. Eventually did not need the insoles and now fit perfectly.I would not recommend this product to people with thinner feet (ladies included), who would better off buying the 1b99 boot (women's boot) as it is slightly narrower, and wear thin socks. That said, I found the UK7 of the 1b99 boot too narrow for my foot.I like to wear the biggest and chunkiest boots I can possibly wear (not New Rocks) and these nearly hit the spot for my size 6.5 feet.

I love my new boots. They were delivered on time and they are the right size. I was a bit worried about ordering shoes online but now I'm glad I did.When I first tried my new boots I froze for a minute because they felt very rough and I felt pain on the top part of my foot, right where the laces begin.I took them off and the next day I tried them on again and I walked around the house. I didn't feel pain at all and I found them very comfortable.As the other buyers were saying in their reviews, it takes a little while to break them in, but it's all worth it.

I nearly cut my ankles the first couple of times I wore these. They need to be worn as loosly as possible to begin with and then very gently tighten them up over time. wearing them took a while but now they are as comfortable as the ones I bought ten years ago and was still wearing till very recently. I was worried these were fake as the insides are not the same as the ones in the shop but perhaps I am not comparing like for like. Impressed by the price and now how comfortable and warm they are (with decent socks). Hope they will last the next ten years.

I bought these boots knowing I was in for a few weeks of pain breaking then in, but after wearing them for a fortnight, nothing! No blisters, rubbing or sore feet, So Dr. Marten what ever you have done thank you. They have a new insole which adds to the comfort, I have always found the red leather easier to break in than the black and the sole csn now be repaired. Other than that I can't see much different to my old boots. Add thst to the Amazon price and quick delivery all in all a great boot at a great price. Very happy.

I'd read a few horror stories about the soles on these boots splitting within weeks and the quality not being too good as they're made in china - but I've had absolutely none of these problems!These boots are amazingly comfortable and the sole is very sturdy - I say this as by this point the back heel on my boots usually wears away very fast, but these have held up amazingly and the breaking in hasn't taken long at all. I couldn't reccomend these boots enough!

My boots came this morning! And i am so pleased with them!..They came well before estimated delivery time, laced in black but came with yellow laces too! =DThe shoe size fits perfect the only thing i wish to express, though it isnt a fault of the manufacturer or seller, is that the boot only just about fits around my leg as i have quite a wide calf.Just something to be aware of :)Cant wait to get wear them outdoors! Enjoy your DM's.I will.

These boots are really good quality and very tough. You need to wear these boots 'in', say around the house for about a week, before going any distance in them. The leather is not very supple and needs a lot of use before becoming comfortable. Wearing socks is also essential, otherwise the heal, which does not 'give' much, could rub your heals. Personally. I would recommend you apply a gel type plaster to the area before first use.
