Wanted to get back to wearing Dr Martens, and since taking delivery I've been wearing them non-stop. This was the first time I bought any clothing from Amazon (I couldn't get the style or size from any local stores) and was a little worried because I'm not your average size (I'm very tall with size 8 feet). I didn't need to worry, the boots arrived on time (well packaged) and as soon as I put them on the fit was perfect. The black leather is soft to the touch (boots don't feel heavy on my feet), the inside zip makes it easy to get the boots on/off, no lacing up and 'down' (I have my laces swinging away but I've also tied them around my calf to shorten them). I've worn the boots with both skinny jeans (jeans tucked in)

I was so happy and excited when I received my new boots, quality was perfect, and there was no defect or some problem.Came on time and the product was exactly as shown at photo.However as soon as I tried them on, I found out that it was small on the top of the foot, and it was at the part that couldn't be fixed by adjusting the laces. First time I wore them, was painful and after a few hours I was looking forward to come home to take them off.Next time I tried them on, I tried a slightly thicker socks and surprisingly it worked much better.I've wore them so far a few times and whenever I use thin socks, its painful, doesn't seem to get any better but if I try with the cotton athletic ones its better,

It is snug but not as bad as a UK5 would have been. I'm normally a UK 6 or 7. I have room to wiggle my toes a bit. The shoe looks a bit long on my feet (to me), but if you look at the picture closely, the foot part is suppose to be so long, doesn't matter which size you choose. I also think the 1B99 style fits a lady better than the 1914, because it accentuate the ankle part more (not so bulky around the ankle). The UK6 is already comfortable, because it is not too snug, but I still have to wear it a few times before it will be a perfect comfortable fit. I think the UK 5 would have killed my feet!! Leather is nice and soft and has a matt finish, which I prefer,

Very nice, softer leather (virginia) making them more comfortable than normal DMs, and the zip making them much faster to get on and off. Identical to the 1914 unisex boot, so no reason they should be just for women, unless you count being more comfortable and easier to get on and off as just for women. I love DMs but never found a decent fit before. The zip is a weakness over the long term though; one of mine came apart where the leather creases near the ankle. Thankfully the teeth just came away in a strip from their backing and it was easy to sew them back with a sewing machine.

Received the 1b99 boots the next day from ordering and they're perfect. I'm normally a 7 or 8 depending on the shoes and opted for the 8 just in case. They fit lovely with a little bit of room for thicker socks/movement.The boots are comfy as normally you have to wear Dr Martens in a bit and I love the fact they have laces and a zip :)Overall very pleased with my purchase

Great boots, reasonable deliver time. Only thing I'd say is that the leather is thinner than it used to be
