I have been searching for my ideal boots for the last couple of years and now, finally, my hubby can breathe a huge sigh of relief that the quest is over! I've tried on so many pairs in high street shops, ordered and returned several pairs from other online stores and none have been quite right until now. I suppose you could call me fussy, but if I'm spending the best part of £100 on something, I expect it to be perfect! The height of this boot is just right, I'd say it elongates your legs rather than shortening them as one reviewer on here said. I've tried so many knee-high boots and have come to the conclusion that they really don't suit me at all - a calf height boot is much more flattering.Every time I found a nice looking pair of knee high boots, they would gape at the back of my calf and end up looking like wellies - I don't even have really skinny legs! These boots fit snugly around my leg and yet I still have room to wear them with skinny jeans. They are such a great shape and if you need to you can adjust the fit slightly with the buckle. They are comfy to walk around in all day, the leather is soft, the small wedge sole gives much more cushioning than a flat boot would and although this camel colour does mark easily (I've worn them a couple of times now and have noticed a few scuff marks) it really just adds to the 'worn' look and doesn't detract from them at all. After reading other reviews I made sure I sprayed a good waterproofer all over them before wearing them, no issues with leaks so far. With regards to sizing, I often take a 6 or 6.5 in shoes but usually a UK 7 in boots. I ordered a 7, which is EU 40, and the fit is perfect - if anything slightly on the large size rather than being tight, which is great because it means I can wear cosy thick socks with them. They do feel snug across the top of your foot when you first put them on, but they soften up very quickly after just a short wear. My only gripe is that I noticed the black ones were only £69 the other day when I ordered the camel ones but when I went back to order them, they'd gone up to £115! I'm keeping my eye on them and will be ordering myself a black pair as soon as the price drops again. No hesitation at all in recommending these boots - if you don't like them you can return them free of charge anyway so what do you have to lose?! Easily my best purchase in ages.

I looked at Fly boots for AGES online. All I kept reading about was the lack of waterproofing. In the end I ordered them and hoped for the best. I ordered a size 7 instead of my usual 6 as they are fleece lined and another review had suggested sizing up. They do fit, and I'm not sure if a 6 might have been a bit too tight/short in terms of the lining that goes all around the inside sole too, so have stuck with a 7. For me, they look lovely. They are stylish and classy looking. The leather is very soft. As per another review, they DO mark very easily. Even in trying them on, they got marked. However, actually, it adds to the character of the boot. Cant say what they would be like in another colour,I bought the camel brown. In terms of waterproofness, I have not worn them in the rain, as I didnt want to risk it. I have worn them daily on the school run, in cold/damp weather, but not in pouring rain, as dont see the point in risking them getting soaked. I did spray them with a waterproof spray. They will need a leather wax on them soon to polish them up I think. One thing I have noticed, is that they are not particularly good at gripping the pavement where we have had a few frosty mornings..bit disappointed by that as they are a winter boot. The one other thing I found was that in a size 7 they DO look a bit unfeminine in some ways. The are not a delicate looking boot as they are wide around the toe area. Overall, I would say if youre looking for a WARM, chunky, comfortable, and nice looking pair of boots for those cold days to wear with skinny jeans or skirt/tights, then these are lush. Go for it.

Sizing: It's important to know that these Fly boots are sized according to European shoe sizing. Unfortunately, Amazon doesn't share this information and instead makes an inaccurate conversion to UK sizes. Consequently, when I ordered my size (a 'UK7'), what arrived was a boot in European sizing marked as a size 40. This is actually smaller than a UK7 and is closer to a UK6.5. I couldn't even get my foot in it, so I had to return it (which was a bit of a hassle...not to mention the cost of postage and of insuring the parcel, although I hope this will be refunded). I re-ordered the boot in what Amazon described as a 'UK8' and they arrived this morning. The 'UK8' is actually a Euro 41.This translates roughly to a UK7.5 but it fits me perfectly.I'm ultimately happy, but feel that all the hassle I experienced having to return and re-order this product (and await a refund for the original order) could have been avoided if Amazon listed the European sizes for this boot. I could have made a much more informed choice with a bit more information. It was incredibly frustrating to select and order my size, only to find upon arrival that the boots are sized according to a different region (and did not fit as expected)! Everyone will be different, I am sure, so if you know you're true to your shoe size, sometimes go up or down half a size or have wide/narrow feet etc. then take all of this into consideration when ordering. That aside, they look great and feel very comfortable. I'll be more aware of Fly sizing when making future purchcases.

Wow these are great boots ! They look fantastic and feel so slinky& ultra comfortable. They are made from a really soft leather , that has a slightly aged appearance and really does feel like a second skin. They are extremely well made with lovely little touches like " fly" wrote on the side buckle. They are a very flattering length, stopping on my calfs making them idea for jeans or skirts - look fantastic with skinny jeans. The heel is great & sturdy but enough to give a faltering lift.Wearing them is a joy and now Im constantily wearing outfits just so I can wear these boots with them ! Really Im so delighted I bought them and people are constantily commenting on them.I was slighilty hesitant about buying them because of the price but they really are worth it. These are the type of boots that will last for ever and always look stylish. They feel amazing to wear- so, so comfortable you can wear them straight away and the biggest problem is wanting to take them off !I bought the red colour and they are beautiful- a lovely rich red. However my only caution is they atre broad made so you might find you need to take a size smaller than normal.Fly usually make great boots and these are one of their best, your biggest problem is deciding which one of the lovely colours to buy.

I don’t tend to leave many reviews, but sometimes items purchased are so surprisingly good it’s worth letting others know. I ordered the petrol green Mes 2 boots yesterday and they arrived the next day, as promised. They are fabulous! The boots were well packed, a beautiful colour and extremely comfortable. I’m usually a 5.5 or 6 (UK size) depending on make, but always gets a 6 in boots to allow for thick socks in cold weather. These boots are perfect in a size 6. I’m a standard E fit for width of foot, but there’s plenty of room for someone with wider feet too as the boot is well rounded at the toes. I agree that someone with fabulously muscly or wonderfully generous calves may have a bit of an issue with the width at the top of the boot, but for me it was perfect. If of help, my calves are 35.5cm at widest point and I still have a good 2-3cm gap between my leg and the top of the boot to tuck jeans/leggings into. There’s a buckle that can be adjusted at the top of the boot to allow another 1cm width extra, if needed. Not my first pair of Fly boots, and won’t be my last either. Hint... buy some translucent or dark green boot cream polish to protect from scuffs. Works a treat! I thoroughly recommend these boots.

Already owning a pair of Fly London shoes I was aware of the potential comfort factor these boots might provide. I apprehensively ordered the boots after trailing through the many mixed reviews (I SO wanted some as I love the look). I have what I'd call larger calves and was worried about whether the boots would fit. To cut a long story short - they fit! Took a bit of effort getting heal into the boot on the first few occasions but are now fine as the leather has relaxed a little and I can zip them up without any difficulty with jeans tucked in. The boots look fantastic (patent black), they're comfy and easy to wear and drive in (no foot slip on the pedals).However...I have given 4 stars as the soles are not slip proof and feel slightly slippery underfoot when walking over autumnal terrain and some wetter services so I am a little wary about the winter months. (I have just ordered some waterproof UGGs to combat the icy paths) I have done the school run in the rain on a number of occasions and so far have had no leakage or wet feet! Another reviewer advised to just go for it and try for yourself. I would agree and this is what I did and I am happy to review that I am one happy Mummy!

Have just taken delivery of these red patent leather Mes boots. They look just as they do in the picture, true to colour. They are definitely only a fashion boot, could not be described as a heavy boot. BUT they are very nice looking. I'm a real Fly London fan & have a pair of their boots from a few years ago & they're still very wearable. They are a very small fit & I was worried I wasn't going to get them on due to the low frontage but I did, with perseverance, & am pretty sure they'll soon stretch as the leather's very soft & they feel comfortable. They measure 29cm from the floor to the top of the boot at the back & not quite as high as I thought they might be.There is elastic on both buckles which does help with the fit as they are reasonably slim fitting in the leg. Hope they stand up to wear & tear, given the patent leather, & don't crack. I will be protecting them before I wear them. NOTE - regarding waterproofing. In the label with the boots it clearly states they are "splash proof & reasonably water resistant in moderate weather, it is possible that water seepage can occur in adverse conditions". They're not pretending to be waterproof! Hope this helps.

I love these boots, wore then to work today and EVERYONE said how nice they looked. They are comfy and warm. I was a little put off when i saw the colour online. Thought it would be too light. But its not at all. It's a lovely shade of brown. I bought 2 tins of dubbin from Amazon the PUNCH brand. Brilliant easy to put on and keeps the leather looking nice. Waterproofs the boots too. It was cheap at under 4 quid for the two tins. The boots are soft leather and can scuff easy ....but Don't worry get your dubbin out and a soft cloth a polish over and good as new again . these are lovely lovely boots I would highly recommend them. And I have...... TO EVERYONE.!!I also bought another pair of knee high ones in dark brown because they were so cheap. Hey. and heres tip for putting your dubbin on. Warm your boots with a hair dryer not to hot and not for too long....warm your dubbin also wtih hair dryer goes on a dream. Thanks Amazon for my boots there smashing I have wanted some for years. And because of the really good price I got 2 pairs now. I am CHUFFED to bits. I shall keep looking for more great bargins. Have told all my friends and they are going to buy some too.

I went shopping for new boots and saw someone wearing a brown pair of these and asked where she got them from - she was so lovely and even let me try them on, so it was obvious that I should buy a pair. The price on Amazon was excellent and so I ordered two pairs (these and the matte brown ones).Main thing - they are so comfortable. I really struggle to find boots that will fit my calves and which are soft on my feet. When I got them out of the box I was really worried - the tops look very narrow and they were almost impossible to get on. To the extent that I was going to send both pairs back and buy a different size. But I didn't....1. if they seem a bit tight at first, letting out the buckles by one hole will really help2. they do give (both the patent and the matte leather)3. even with my wide feet, they are a really good fitGiven my advanced age, most friends who have seen them have described them as oxblood but I'd say they are a red-y plum-y colour... After two weeks, they are creasing and softening/stretching and I'll probably do the buckles back up, but I'm very pleased with both pairs and now I don't need to worry about boots for the winter.

I have been after a pair of Fly London boots for ages - but the price was a bit prohibitive. With Amazon offering a fantastic summer saving I pounced and am so pleased that I did!The leather is soft, the colour is great and the sole/heel is just chunky/low wedge enough to look funky yet be great to walk in. The mid-calf height is good and the calf buckle actually works allowing you to fit the boots better to size of your calves - which is brilliant. Like other reviewers I have sprayed mine with a good protector, I'm not planning to run through any puddles in them but I'm sure they'll get wet at some point! Two bits of advice: 1. Find a shop selling Fly London and try some on before ordering.I have skinny half size feet and needed to go down a size (as Fly don't do half sizes). The boots have come up a bit narrow on one foot, but the leather is so soft that I'm sure a bit of wearing in will stretch them in no time. 2. Keep clicking on Amazon and checking out the prices, they can really fluctuate between colours too so it's really worth keeping an eye on the pair you're after.

These fitted perfectly, both calf and foot. Adjustable if you have wider calves. Sizing felt generous to me (I fitted the 6 fine, but in some shoes I am a 7).I get a lot of compliments (some from total strangers) whilst wearing them. The "Petrol" (teal) colour is very subtle, and goes with everything, and the leather is both soft and hardwearing. They are very nice indeed, and thanks to the wee wedge heel are very comfrtable and will not cause fallen arches. Good grips, discrete branding. These are round about the same price as Ugg boots (probably cheaper) and are far sexier, plus will not date as quickly (Remember Croc sandles? -me neither). I have yet to see these in a magazine, but I see plenty of women wearing them, from rock chicks to posh kids... even one of my tutors (a published author, no less) has a pair of Fly shoes (The big wedge purple mary-jane ones - I forget what they're called). So they're not trendy, but they seem to be gaining in popularity through word-of-mouth (and repeat customers like me).I love them.

Ordered and just over 24 hrs later they arrived plus free delivery so a great start. Boots are fab, gorgeous soft waxed leather with a strong inner zip. I am a sz 6 but have a wide foot, I have tried a 6 in store before but just couldn't get my foot in the boots and there was no 7 to try so left it. When I saw these were reduced plus had free delivery and returns decided to go for it - they are great. It was a bit of a squeeze to get my trotter in past the high apron bit but as soon as my foot popped in they were great, can feel they are a tad too long but then they would be being a sz larger than I normally wear but width and comfort wise they are great plus the bit extra allows for socks. They come up to mid calf and fasten easily on my sz 16 legs. Overall a great boot and would definitely recommend, buy your normal sz if you have an average fit foot but wider feet may struggle unless you go for a larger sz. By the way the buckle over the apron is decorative and makes no difference to the boots fit.

Brilliant - great boots for a fantastic price. I've been keeping an eye on these for a while, waiting for the price to go down. I have these boots in purple and dark brown but needed some black ones to complete my wardrobe. I found the Fly Mol boots, though gorgeous, don't fit on my calves but these are fine. These are the old style version with the knobbly treads on the bottom - they are probably slightly less waterproof than the new style because of the way the sole is fixed to the leather, but add some dubbin/leather balsam to seal them - as with any other boots - and they are fine. I've had a similar pair for about 10 years and they are still going strong. My new style purple ones, bought last autumn and worn every day pretty much, look like new. Instantly comfy, no wearing in needed. They do scuff fairly easily but again, a bit of leather balsam every couple of weeks and they stay looking good. I like mine a bit less than shiny anyway, they have an elegant biker look.

i read all the reviews, got scared and yet craved and coveted and waited....then i finally ordered, like another poor soul who seemed to have gone through similar agonies after reading some negative reviews. they came today and I wore them and walked around for sometime. they fit beautifully in my usual size. i have bigger calves and usually need those boots that fit wider at the calf but these were fine. the buckle does become a tad loose and fits perfectly. the purple one is exactly as described by another 'sis' who bought them. more burgundy, rich wine colour and patent. for the price it was a steal. it says that they should not be worn in soaking weather but then who would wear them in soaking weather ?they are patent. i dont know what might happen later when it rains down on them in an unexpected moment but at the moment, for someone in her 40s, they look just trendy enough to make me feel good.

I bought my second pair of these boots 3 and a half years ago and now I am looking to buy another new pair. I wear these probably for about 8 months of the year, even during summer because they are just so more comfortable than shoes, so you can tell how long they last, not like some brands that are a similar price but last only a few months. I am a 7 and these fit perfectly. I do have to spend a lot of time outside for work and Yes they do leak in the rain and don't keep your feet warm in icy weather, but in those conditions I put on my Timberland Mount Holly boots ha ha. The patent leather lasts and lasts and with over 3 years of wearing and crawling around on the floor, they still only have minimal scuffs on the toes and the reason I am looking for a new pair is because I have worn the soles so thin that soon I think they will have holes. All in all I cannot rate these boots high enough.
