This is my second De'Longhi bean to cup coffee machine.Dad who is 80 managed to break the coffee grinder on the old one by fiddling with the adjustment dial in the hopper. It still works with ground coffee, but be advised only to adjust the grinder one notch at a time, and only when the grinder is in operation. The Autentica comes with the same health warning. That said my new Autentica arrived just before christmas and I am super delighted with it and fast on my way to becoming a coffee geek; I can now converse in coffee and can tell you what the difference between a cappuccino a lattè and a flat white, a ristretto, doppio and an espresso, even if I'm still not sure how to spell them properly.Bottom line is they all taste superb, because you can set the strength of coffee, the froth of the milk, and the size of the cup, to suit yourself. There are four temperature settings too, as well as a cup warming tray on top to take the chill off your cups, but the tray does take 5-10minutes to warm up fully. If you want your own particular style in your favourite cup, you can set it to dispense that at the touch of a button. You can even adjust how long the machine will remain on standby before switching itself off, and another feature to set it to come on, so that eg it is warmed up ready for breakfast in the morning. The milk jug can be swopped out, it fits neatly in the fridge door tray, for a hot water/steam nozzle for making tea or cuppasoup, but I'm drinking so much coffee right now I haven't gotten round to trying that option. One unexpected pleasure was also buying the insulated glasses; they come in 3 sizes ie espresso, cappuccino and latte or very short standard and very long. You can see the alternate layers of milk , coffee and foam in the glass, and no matter how hot the coffee the glass is pleasantly warm in your hands.Well it impressed me!*postscript: had it now for a month and I am getting the jitters from the amount of coffee I'm now drinking. Loving my coffee. The water jug could do with being bigger but quick and easy to refill almost filled to the brim. The steam/hot water nozzle could be longer, for making up a jug of hot milk, if you want to get creative/artistic pouring your cappuccinos.Yup, that's how bad I've got the habbit now. ?

This is a very impressive machine - quite a small footprint which I was relieved about as the box is huge. It takes a little while to set up as you need to install the water filter and set the water hardness and things but the instructions are pretty good.Once it's all set up with beans in and the water tank full, you turn it on and it takes a minute to warm up and it rinses through a little water into the drip tray which sounds a bit alarming at first but you get used to it. It also does this when its turning off. I think it keeps the pipes clean. If you want a milk based coffee, latte or cappuccino etc then you need to attach the milk container that you can keep filled and in the fridge. It's very easy to click this onto the front and a dial on it dictates how much froth.Once set up you just choose your coffee - you can adjust coffee strength and amounts to personalise it exactly how you like it if you can be bothere. There's a "my coffee" button to put your favourite on. It does cappuccino, latte, macchiato, espresso, long. It does just hot water which is handy for tea or warming the cup.The temperature of the coffee is good and hot. There is a setting to increase this in the menus, it comes set at 2 and can go up to 4. The milky coffees do have to be drunk pretty promptly as they will go cold but this is the same in Costa etc. Once you've used the milk container you need to se the dial to clean and it runs water through the pipes before you put it back in the fridge. This is pretty clever as you can leave the leftover milk in it. You do need to clean out the milk container every 2/3 to be safe but all the bits go in the dishwasher or it's easy to wash in soapy water. The machine tells you exactly what it needs once it's set up properly so pretty user friendly. You get a "fill tank" or "fill beans" message when neccessary. I find the tank very easy to fill but I can see it might be a problem if you have it under a cabinet. I have an open space above the machine and you simply lift it off by the lid, fill it and drop it back into place. All in all, we are thrilled with this machine. The coffee it makes is delicious, lovely crema and not a trace of bitterness. Just as nice as a Costa or Starbucks.

One of the selling points I took from this item was that it doesn't take up much space in your kitchen. That's a lie; this machine is definitely on the large size, and takes up a fair portion of my already small worktop. That said, it does look pretty swish, so I think we can live with it.I've got in my kitchen already a Bosch Tassimo pod machine, and also a Krups Dolce Gusto pod machine.Of those two, the Krups machine got my vote for nicest coffee, despite costing twice as much as the Bosch. This one costs around four times more than that one again, so the coffee would need to be pretty impressive. As it is, the coffee does come across as very akin to the coffee you would be served in your local coffee shop,I take mine neat, which is very simple to make; the water dispenser can be moved up or down to make for a creamier head on your drink, and you can make it using beans or ground coffee, depending on what you have in at the time. I have to say, if I'm spending £400+ on a coffee maker, I'm wanting it to crush the beans for me, so thanks for the ground coffee option, but I'm using beans as much as I can here. The machine also comes with a nice little milk frother / steamer nozzle, which is good for those of you who like a nice cappuccino or the like. I'm going to be using this to make babyccinos for the kids.Initial setup of this took a while, there's a lot to get through with regards to water temperature, setting the softness/hardness of the water, adding a filter etc - once you're done though, it should be just as simple as adding water, beans and pressing a button or two.One point to note though is that every time you switch this fella on, it does a rinse cycle to clean out the various bits and bobs; this involves some water coming out, which is supposedly to be caught in the drip tray. I'd be inclined to stick a cup in before switching on, to make it easier to empty than forever taking the drip tray out.Overall, this is a good machine. It's expensive, but you get what you pay for: if you bought one coffee every day from your favourite coffee shop, you'd soon be making your money back. And the coffee is good.

This is a very impressive machine, as it should be for the price. It's a full bean-to-cup machine (though you can use ready-ground if you prefer) so it'll do everything for you automatically. It takes a fair while to set it up, but once it's up and running it's pretty easy to use and it makes lovely drinks. People seem to disagree about the size of this machine - I would say it's actually very compact for a machine of this type - bean-to-cup machines always take up the most room but this is about as compact as you'll get. It's certainly smaller in width and about the same in depth as a small microwave, if a bit taller, so it should squeeze into all but the smallest of kitchens. It does a standard espresso,a double espresso and a "long" one which recreates filter coffee, which I far prefer to the ridiculous "Americano" concept of watered-down espresso. The included pipe for making frothed milk means you can do lattes and cappuccinos so this machine will do any coffee-based drink you'd need. It's not excessively noisy when grinding beans but it's pretty loud when actually dispensing the coffee itself, and it's fairly slow. Cleaning isn't the best as the drip tray and grounds holder aren't dishwasher-safe, and it can be awkward getting all of the drip-tray cleaned - I used a baby's bottle brush to make sure I got into the corners to ensure it was clean.Overall it could be a little quieter and easier to clean but these are pretty minor quibbles. It's a good-looking machine which makes excellent coffee and the size and price are both reasonable for a bean-to-cup machine, especially considering you won't need to find room (or cash) for a separate grinder.

This machine replaced my Gaggia Titanium, so, I didn't expect it to be as comparable, and it isn't. but that aside it does do a good espresso and cappuccino which is passable. Long milk drinks, the milk doesn't get hot enough. I used a Gaggia milk thermometer, frothed milk only reaches 42 degrees, a shot of coffee in it takes it to 48 degrees. the Delonghi tutorial site recommends the frothed milk should be 60 degrees by using the jug and steam method, but, this machine does not have that facility, I had read that the milk was not very hot in other reviews but others did not mention this problem, so I thought it might be a personal taste issue. It be good if Delonghi did a steam nozzle that coud be fitted in place of the milk caraf.Dropped it a star because of the milk not hot enoughI've had this machine for 6 months now, and being trying to find ways to get the milk hotter. initially I used the hot water from the machine as per instructions which wasn't enough, so I've been using boiled water from a kettle which improved the heat of cafelatte and capuccino but I like it COSTA hot, my latest idea is to heat some milk in the microwave to just below boiling point and just use the cremalatta to top of my coffee of choice.Hope this helps those who want a hotter coffee.

I have had my coffee machine a week now and have enjoyed possibly to many coffees already. As much as i like the machine i do have a few niggles not so much with the machine but De'Longhi. I feel for the money you are paying for the machine they should include a jug as one is needed. I also feel that the instruction book could include clear instructions on how to make all the wonderful coffees their write up tells us it makes. i being a novice thought that i would select the type of coffee i wanted from the display and press the button and it would pour it for me. i knew i would have to manually steam the milk myself but it doesn't and there is no indication in the book as to how to make all of the coffees yes it says a little about cappuccino and steaming milk and espresso, but unless you have a great knowledge about all the coffee types you will have to do what i have done googled and watched many you tube videos which have been most helpful. now i know the difference i feel confident the machine is up to it. I hope this helps and i hope De'Longhi read this and step up

Good quality for the price. I've red a lot of comments that milk could have been a bit hotter but this doesn't mean that there is anything wrong with the produced coffee.Simply if you like milk piping hot just preheat it a tiny bit in the microwave... There is nothing wrong with the coffee machine as long as you don't expect it to heat up 3 Celsius milk to 80 degrees while pouring it into the cup. Use some common sense...I find this coffee machine fit for purpose with all milk included coffees. There is a bit of getting used to how to set up each coffee to fill the entire cup but again coffee tastes GOOD and the temperature of milk is exactly what it should be in my opinion.Would highly recommend. And personally I don't get why people buy expensive pod coffee machines if for a bit more you can get THIS.Read full review...

I’ve had coffee from bean to cup machines before and been (or bean) generally unimpressed so I was nervous about buying this one. What made me push the button was mainly the temperature adjustment, yes it makes a proper hot cup of coffee. There are enough settings to adjust coffee strength and quantity to make most happy. You can also use pre-ground coffee, it’s a bit of a fuss adding one scoop then another for a long coffee, i.e. a full cup of coffee. The milk foam is fiddly, tall latte cups don’t fit and if you don’t pay attention you’ll end up with a mess. But otherwise super easy, cappuccinos are one button push. It’s not quiet when grinding and rinsing but that’s par for the course. And the coffee tastes great.

We got this as alternative to always buying coffee from shops. It is great and the coffee tastes good (Depending on the beans you select). What I would say is it took some time to work out the correct quantities of Milk/Coffee for each different coffee type. Its a bit of a faff. However once thats done it seems to work good. Only other complaints would be the amount it rinses means the drip tray fills quite fast if you have nothing to catch the water and the grounds container fills quite fast. Oh and the milk foamer nozzle is quite "messy" when it first fires up and you cant extend to reach the cup/mug.

Stunning machine purchased on special offer! Great deal thanks Amazon. Am so happy to have taken the plunge. Despite owning 2 pod machines nespresso and Lavazza I always felt I wanted the freedom of buying my own beans. This machine effortlessly delivers barista quality coffee with a decent crema. The choice of strength settings and cup sizes all which can be reprogrammed is amazing. An amazing machine you will not be disappointed! The coffee flavour is sublime and the machine does everything for you!

We've been toying with the idea of getting a bean-to-cup coffee machine for several months but found it hard to decide which one to get. We eventually opted for this one and are so glad we did. It's a cinch to use, it cleans itself all the time, and most importantly it makes delicious coffees! Whenever spending a decent chunk of money there's always that worry of "what if it's crap", but I'm very happy to say that this has exceeded expectations and is a fantastic addition to our kitchen.

After the first coffee maker was lost by the courier, Amazon refunded my money and I repurchased from a different seller for a better price! Makes great bean to cup coffee. I haven't used the ground coffee facility yet but Lattes,Cappuccinos and flat whites are easily made and delicious. Still experimenting with various strengths and long and short drinks. Easy to use and clean. I recommend this machine.

I've had a couple of Bean to Cup machines and this one is excellent. I'm the only coffee drinker in the house, but this doesn't take too much space and makes excellent frothy hot chocolate, so it's a hit with the kids. The only down side is it takes a while to master the controls (no winging it without reading the instructions!) but that's no great hardship. Overall it's excellent.

Make nice coffee it has anumber of pre set programmes for differant coffee drinks and you can adjust them to suit your taste and size of cup / mug that you have. The main draw back is that if you drink a lot of coffee you will be refilling the water tank often as it only holds about 1.2 lt. But for One person that is ok but on the hand you will be using fresh water

28.8.2019

At first I was a little disappointed as the coffee didn't taste great but after playing with the settings (grinder to finer, temperature) it is perfect - I'm really fussy but the coffee is great and am very happy with this machine. Rated b+ but other than the box being a bit battered the machine is perfect and over £300 cheaper than new, bargain!
