I've only had this for four days, but I couldn't be happier. It arrived swiftly and in perfect condition. After running the required two tanks of water through it, it made perfect espressos and hot frothed/textured milk. I had a Kenwood Cafe Retro before this that had put in a decade of great service, but this machine takes coffee-making to a whole new level. I'm not using particularly special coffee or even anything new to us - it was a surprise to receive this so quickly so we've been using our every day (but still great!) local ground coffee, Bean 14's Joyful Cliff Path if you're in Guernsey/fancy ordering some. Without a doubt, it's the best homemade coffee I've ever produced.I'd done extensive research before purchasing - including Which?magazine's extended reviews and Best Buys. This was very much one of them and I can see why. It's incredibly easy to use and easy to clean. I defy anyone to made a bad coffee with it. The drip tray removes very easily to reveal a molded plastic section that accommodates a normal mug and is contained enough to catch any drips/moderate overflows. It's also easy to clean. The main drip tray has a great feature (as yet untested IRL) that shows you the drip tray is getting full, rather than when it's too late to safely empty the contents without a spillage. The milk wand is easy to use and clean too, making excellent hot/frothed/textured milk even when I was using it for the first couple of times. We've drunk a lot of coffee over the bank holiday weekend, so we've put it through its paces. My partner refused to touch my old machine but has been happy to give this one a try. Even he's made good drinks with it!After reading other reviews here I've ordered an extra filter handle, but so far I've not needed it. I've found that if I leave the coffee in place until the drips have stopped (into a warm espresso cup), when I remove to make the next cup/finish using it the grounds have easily dried out enough to be tapped out without the filter popping out into the bin.Of course, anything could go wrong from here on in - and if it does I'll add a follow-up review - but for now I'm delighted with it and am happy to recommend this machine. It arrived with a standard British plug and was in perfect condition (despite being left out in the rain by our postman). Thanks for double boxing with care, Amazon!

This is a short term review as it has been used for a week however so far I am very impressed. I chose this expresso machine based upon the which.co.uk reviews and I would agree with everything they have said regarding the quality of the coffee, crema and frothed milk.Minor niggles (bearing in mind I still rate this as a 4* product)-Cup heater; instruction say that you should leave your cup on the heater for 20 minutes before pouring the coffee. This is pointless in my opinion as how many people will wait around for 20 minutes after wanting a coffee just for their mug to warm, much quicker just to boil the kettle and pour some boiling water into the cup.-'Spout' height; a standard mug will not fit under the 'spout'and as such you need to get a shallow/expresso cup/shot glass. I am guessing it is too sophisticated for me but being bred in Yorkshire, I use mugs for coffee.-Coffee measure spoon/tamper; is a plastic affair made from fairly thin plastic and double ended meaning when you flip it over to tamp down the coffee the odd stray ground flies off.The only affect on the score is the 'Spout' height as I did not buy the item to heat my cups and the spoon/tamper is perfectly serviceable however having to use a second cup does increase the amount of washing I need to do. All in all, if you want good coffee/expresso/cappuccino etc I would highly recommend this product.

The coffee this machine makes, assuming you choose the right beans, grind them right and get the tamping right, is first class, and the milk wand is good too. As with all espresso machines you will need to experiment a bit to get the final product you want, but that's fun to doThere are quirks and irritations. If you leave the steam wand button depressed, the machine will switch off quickly when you try to switch it on and make coffee. I strongly suspect that several people giving one star reviews who say their machines won't stay switched in have inadvertently left the milk button depressed. The clearance between the drip tray and where the coffee comes out is only about 7cm. If you want to use a mug, you'll have to remove the drip tray. This is a pain. After 2.5 years of daily use, and regular cleaning and rescaling, this machine has developed a leak underneath. I now have to decide whether to buy some replacement seals and DIY a repai, send it off for a GBP70 service, or replace it with another or better machine. But the bottom line is that it makes great coffee.

Good day ....I received as a gift today .As my old machine passed away 3 weeks ago u can imagine how fast i wanted to plug in and try it .So here it is :Yes it comes with europeane plug as it is shipped from germany .It looks and feels solid .So it's not a platic cheap thing for sure .The coffe is amazing and yes you get foam too at the top of your coffe .Uou can use either ground coffee ,either pods .I used Illy coffee pods and was very good result .The pluging cable is long enough.I am a fan of esspreso so i can't tell how the cappuciono was or using the milk on itI gave 4 stars and not 5 because of one thing that i would improve .Whenever you press to start making a coffe you must press itagain the same button to stop it .On my other espresso machine i just press to start and i would be able to leave the room as it was stoping by itself .On this one i must stay there so i stop it manualy .As i said today i receive it .. i tried and i wrote ...In case things change i will come with new information.Thank you and best regards

A great coffee machine for the price. It is very simple to set up and use. I also like the fact it is easy to clean and maintain too. IT makes a good espresso and and coffee which is what I have used it for mainly. I have not used that the pressurised milk frother but I am sure this will deliver as good or certainly similar results as the coffee part. The only slight downside to be warned of, is the height between the drip tray and the nozzle where the coffee comes out. You may need to either do what I do and use a low rise mug or you might have to use an expresso cup to pour the coffee into then decant this in to a tall mug.Failing this you can remove the drip try and fit a full sized cup in underneath. However apart from this minor issue the machine is great and works very well indeed

After a few attempts, I've got the hang of it. It's easy to put the filter holder in wrong and get leaking, so be careful you've checked that. Produces great tasting coffee with a good creamy head once you've learned how it works.BUT one big problem, it's NOT got its own coffee grinder built in, so I had to buy one, and you can't always be sure it's ground the coffee beans fine enough for expresso. I wrongly assumed a bean to coffee machine would include the grinder, but sadly not. That's a big disappointment, but otherwise it works well, quick to heat up, but no cut off on the size of your cup like other machines I've had before, so you have to watch it all the time to make sure you don't overfill your cup. So,I like it but the above points stop me giving it 5 stars.

Good machine for the price, makes a decent coffee and the steamer will create a good foam provided you keep it clean (I.e. dismantle the wand and clean it inside). We use it daily and it lasted about 3 years before it started to drip from the steamer and eventually the steamer knob wouldn’t turn off properly. It’s not the most durable but it’s the best we found for making latte / cappuccino. Overall I’d recommend it, just don’t expect it to last like a £1,000 machine.Note - a lot of people complain about it switching itself off as soon as it’s switched on. I think a lot of these people haven’t read the instructions - if the steamer button is left on when you switch it on it will switch itself off again. All you have to do is make sure the steamer button is off!

I have been using this for over a month and have enjoyed the beautiful coffee it makes. The machine is ready in about one and a half minutes. The downsides are: small size of the cup tray (however it can be removed to accommodate bigger mugs), and the steam wand leaking whenever the machine is on. Nothing huge but worth leaving a container under the wand to prevent your counter from 'flooding' over time. For some reason the water steamed through the wand for an americano tastes strange even after flushing it thoroughly.Overall, a product that makes great tasting coffee and I give it 4 stars because it gives a lot of freedom for the entry-level quality and price.I was hard pressed to find a better machine at the time for the price.

I took ages comparing reviews, prices and what I actually wanted from a machine.I felt it could be a gamble but chose this one.I followed the prime up instructions and got ready to prepare my first espresso.Mugs dont fit under it only cups so I found some hidden at the back of a cupboard as we only use mugs in this Yorkshire house. Then found a jug for the milk to be frothed in.Filled and clicked the coffee dodah bit in and pressed go!It worked wonderfully no noises to worry me and the frother worked well.It produced hot, very hot coffee, I have americano and hubby likes cappuccino. We were both really pleased at the results and happy with the investment.

To quote our daughter “How much did you pay for the coffee machine. It has spoilt me for boring coffee”. We all like the coffee maker and it has performed flawlessly for the three months. We particularly like the facility for ese pods which we can easily here on Amazon or in the Netherlands where paper pods are a lot more popular. The only glitch we’ve had is the lack of an instruction manual but a couple of tries sorted things out and now perfect coffee time after time. The only problem we have now is where to hide the one we are going to buy for a Christmas present for later this year.

Very happy with this De'Longhi coffee machine. Took a few minutes to check out the appliance, but started brewing good coffee straight away. One has to heat through the appliance with hot water and only then insert the coffee holder and so start brewing, but this procedure only takes a minute. Finished cup of coffee is hot and if using the 'frother', attachment this also is easy and works perfectly. The actual machine is built strongly and is simplicity itself to clean. So nothing but praise for this little machine. Thank you.

As someone addicted to flat whites I wanted a machine capable of making one. Having read all the reviews here and elsewhere I went for this one. A year later I am still pleased with it. In use twice a day, consistent results. My only recommendation to other users is to make them one at a time, there is not enough power in the steamer to froth enough milk for two coffees but perfectly adequate for one. I tell my guests each coffee is handcrafted, it takes a few minutes to make each one but it's worth it.

The coffee machine looks great, and makes a great espresso. I didn’t think it through before purchasing; I hadn’t realised the small gap available for pouring into- it is only big enough for an espresso cup. Which makes sense, but I hadn’t realised it wasn’t able to make a longer drink. It’s not a problem, as you can tip the espresso into a longer cup/mug, but it is something to consider. The steamer on the side of the machine does work well but is quite aggressive - you’ll need a cloth nearby!

2.6.2020

The machine is attractive . Made from metal and plastic. The handle that you turn with coffee in it is very stiff. Feels like you’re forcing it to turn into position. May not be suitable for someone who is frail. The steamer works beautifully and is very easy to use. You can use ground coffee, either one or two cups at a time or use the third holder that’s for the plastic pre filled coffee pods but I don’t agree with using plastic if I can avoid it. Good value for money. Glad I bought it.

It makes a great cup of coffee although I will say the coffee beans/ground coffee you pick will make a Hugh difference, the main stream Coffee isn’t great for this machine but there are a few that are amazing just keep trying and you’ll get one, the only down fall I’d say is that when making the espresso you have to watch the water and turn it off your self and the milk frother takes a lot longer than I wanted to make the milk hot! But once you’ve got the hang of it no more coffee shops :)!
