Iv'e had four De'longhi coffee machines. My last one was five years old,it didn't break but a saucepan falling on it smashed the top in.This machine is fairly quiet for a small non professional machine once the pump is primed. My daughter works as a Barista for a well known brand and rates this machine highly.I have never had any problems with the machines iv'e had.Someone said the cups moved because of vibration but any small machine will vibrate.I make four lattes a day so mine is worked hard.

I considered a number of coffee machine types before deciding to buy this one - I'm very glad I did. In my opinion better than pod machines because you're not limited to a brand or the varieties offered and you can make a nice frothy hot chocolate too. The machine warms up quickly. The 15bar pressure is definitely sufficient to froth and warm a small jug of milk and does it quite quickly. The measurement under spout is small but you can fit a normal sized mug if you remove the drip tray.

I like this machine a lot. It offers excellent value for money and provides great coffee within minutes. I'm a serious coffee drinker and people often think I'm a qualified barista. I buy my beans, grind them with a De'Longhi electronic grinder and then use my EC145 for an espresso (or add a little hot water to up it to become 'American') The machine is sturdy, easy to use and I have faith in the brand; thus I believe it will last long. I have no difficulty recommending this product.

This is not the quietest nor the highest quality coffee machine, but it does the job well.- only small mug fits under the spout, unless you remove dripping tray, I pour the coffee to a bigger mug if needed;- heats quickly, 1-2 min to heat the water, another 1 min afterwards to heat the steam;- steamer works well but is little inconvenient to use at the beginning;- noise is on par with other machines I used, 19 bar ones are louder, this one is very acceptable.Good deal :)

My old flatmate had one & I wanted one ever since. Got one as a gift for my boyfriend for our flat for x-mas.I remember it's easy to use, but would prefer better access to the inside to clean - or perhaps it should come with a model-specific cleaning kit :( It can only make as many different fancy coffees as you can - it won't make different kinds at the touch of a button, but if you know what you're doing you can make great coffee & foamed milk. Ideal for a coffee purist.

For the very low price, this device is actually very good. Obviously don't expect the quality of machines many times the price, but it makes a half decent cup of coffee. The design means you can only get a small cup under it. Meaning, if you want a mug full, be prepared to make two cups. This means the first cup has cooled down before the second one is ready, leading to warm (not hot) coffee. Oh, and the water holder is quite small, so be prepared to refill it quite often.

This is quite a sturdy little machine. It makes a decent espresso if you use freshly ground beans. It doesn't produce a brilliant crema but certainly adequate, especially for the price. The steam arm is very efficient and froths the milk for a good Cappucino a/great Latte. It is fairly easy to clean - this is my second one of this machine and it was certainly worth the money. **You do need to use fresh ground coffee and a firm tamp to get a good flavour from your coffee..

This machine makes excellent coffee. My love is cappuccino and I have no complaints about my home made cappuccino with this machine. The only complaint I have is that the space between where the coffee comes out and the base of the machine is too small allowing only the tiniest of cup to be used. Expresso is probably the only size cup that fits. I have utilised a low level gravy boat to catch my coffee and then decant into my cup or mug adding the creamed milk after.

You'll have to know what you're doing as there's no pressurized filter holder/handler. With the right skills and the best coffee grinding, you'll make better lattes and espressos than the ones you'll find in most places. The 1100w definitely make a difference in the heating speed/capacity of the milk steamer. The machine is mainly made out of plastic, so expect it to be noisy, really really noisy. But you just ignore it when you see that crema on top of your espresso.

A fairly basic, inexpensive espresso machine but well worth the money. I am a coffee snob with a Ninja Coffee Maker - but it doesn't do espresso's which is a major pain. I therefore bought a low-cost espresso machine like this one to fill the gap.Well it is perfect for now. Doesn't quite create the levels of crema which I like with my espresso so that would be a 3.5/5 .... but in terms of being quick to clean and load, easy to use, compact etc - it is very good.

I bought this machine whilst on offer, the specifications seemed the same as far more expensive De'Longhi models. Judging from the pictures I was unsure of the quality of the machine, but on unpacking and using the machine, I found it to all be very sturdy and solid, although I think the milk frothing wand could be stronger. The machine heats up relatively quickly, and is simple to use. Cleaning is also simple. As others say, only short cups fit underneath.

This machine delivers a really super cup of coffee. It has all the functions you need to produce an espresso or latte and I am really impressed. For the money it is a really impressive kitchen addition and my sister has an older model that is still going 4 years on. It is easy enough to use and clean and I can't really find fault other than it would be more convenient to be able to put more water in the container. Otherwise I'm chuffed!

Purchased due to the price (on offer) plus most reviews were good. It produces very hot coffee but not a massive amount of crema. The milk frother works well and I bought a small jug and milk thermometer which has helped massively. Other reviews are right - you can't get big cups underneath but its primary purpose is to produce espresso so no big deal to pour into a bigger mug should you need to. Good first time machine.

Has been working very well. Yes,as per some reviews you can't stick any size of cup in....but hey, if you want this kind of machine you should only want small/medium cups!Cleaning...disregard rating.Haven't used enough for major clean. Basic clean is easy.Main point:for good/excellent results make sure you have an espresso ground coffee...it's more sensitive to this than a 'bialetti' type jug.

After a bit of research online and practising my technique, I'm now getting pretty decent cups of coffee. My only criticism would be that you can only get tiny cups under either the coffee output or the steam nozzle. It could do with being a bit taller, with more length on the steam nozzle, to allow me to get larger cups under the coffee output, and a small milk jug under the steamer.
