Got this smart step in suit for our Cavachon to keep his undercarriage clean on his muddy wets walks. He measured just under 14" from base of neck along his back to his tail so went for the 14" size and it fits fine. Easy to put on whith his front legs simply dropped through the leg holes at the front and then zipped up along the back with the smart red zip. So much easier than his old coat with a wrap under Velcro fastening strap. Suitably long underneath as well so that his bits can still do their business. Thought about nylon version of this type of coat but very pleased went for this quilted version with the added warmth and a nicer fit. It is washable as per the attached label so hopefully will last well. However first one arrived with faulty stitching between part of the zip and quilted material with part of the inner lining showing so give it a good check over before using. This one was returned and quickly replaced by Amazon with thier usual excellent fast service. Replacement perfect and being used regularly in the current wet weather.

This was bought for a very active, small long-coated border collie. I took the advice of previous reviews and ordered a size smaller than required and it fits perfectly. The colour, lining, style are a good quality and looks very smart. I wanted a zip-up style as there is generally more coverage of the under-belly. The coat is described as 'showerproof'. Day 1 of wearing, it wasn't raining but the ground was very wet from the previous nights' weather. At the end of the walk the dog was still very wet in the under-belly area and the coat was also very wet through to the lining, but she was at least clean from dirt. All in all, this coat is still the best fit and performance we've tried.I'm dubious with anything that claims to keep a dog dry but am happy that it kept her free from dirt meaning less cleaning to do at the end of each walk. The coat didn't take long to dry off by the way so the fact that it was wet wasn't a big deal..

This jacket is exactly what I needed as house coats for my two Jack Russells in the colder months. The build quality and material is equal to any quilted jacket you might buy for yourself. My dogs both measure 31cm from shoulder blades to base of tail and I went with a 41cm jacket. It fits without being tight when they are laid down; their default setting when inside and not eating. The jacket goes past the tail and so keeps them warm when horizontal. If this jacket was for outside use, I would probably have chosen one size smaller to ensure a snug fit. When fitted, the neck allows three fingers to fit easily between jacket and dog.Im very happy with these good quality, well stitched jackets.

I have tried a couple of coats for my Jack Russell and this one is by far the best in terms of fit and ease of wearing. We bought the 16"/41cm size and it's a perfect fit. There's great coverage around the chest and belly area and it's very easy to zip up the back.UPDATE: Two years later and the coat is still going strong even though I wash it regularly throughout winter, so I ordered another. The new product actually seems far superior to the first. There's a little extra padding and it's definitely more waterproof than the first one. We will be ordering another as a spare. People are always commenting how good it looks. The photos are the updated ones

It's not so much 'step-in' as 'wriggle-in' (kind of like a reverse body-warmer) but now my 16 year old Jack Russell has got the hang of having this put on she loves it and races around like a puppy in it! Nice fit - she's a skinny long-legged dog almost exactly like the one in the picture - and it keeps her tummy nice and warm and dry in the muddy weather. Because it zips down to the tail, it doesn't flap up in the wind the way her old coat did, so she has less of the 'caped crusader' look on wild days. Keeps her dry in reasonably heavy rain too, although we don't stay out too long on very wet days now she's old.

This coat is ideal for our short-legged Jack Russell. It keeps him relatively clean underneath, is very easy to put on and he looks so handsome wearing it!. Probably one of the easiest coats to put on as he just steps into it and the zip runs along his back. It did take 3 attempts to order the right size (he refused to be measured) but I had no problem getting refunds until I got the right one. My only suggestion would be to include the dog breed in the size description as included on the actual packaging. It would help as a guide. Very happy, excellent purchase

Really great little coat, excellent buy at add on price. (Worth full price) provides excellent belly protection if you have a little dog who’s underbelly is near to the ground...stops him getting drenched during a shower, without too much warmth. Will use lots during Autumn and Spring’s wet weather.Much prefer the zip fastening; to Velcro or stud fasteners, as it doesn’t stick to his fur, or pop undone when he’s moving round.Material is good quality, and the colour is as expected.

This looks lovely on my Lhasa Apso Sandy... Will keep him dry when it rains as he's short legged should keep the mud of his belly. Although as it zips down the back there's no opening for a harness, but that's not a problem as the harness fits easily enough over the top of the coat. I bought the 16 inch which is a perfect fit for Sandy. Lhasa tend to be very long. My only concern is as Sandys male it my be a wee bit awkward for toileting. But I have to say he looks gorgeous in it..

My dog's old coat was the tradition strap round his middle kind. He would run off after a ball and return with his coat undone and cape like, covered in mud and soaking wet. This coat is so much better. It took him a couple of times to get used to being put into it. but now it's quite straight forward as he stands still. It keeps his tummy clean and the mud can be wiped off easily. The coat has room for improvement in it's shape. Perhaps it could cover more of my dogs neck...

This jacket is much nicer in reality than in the photo. It is a dark navy with a contrasting red zip. I absolutely love it and it with great regret that I had to send both sizes that I had ordered back. I have a 7-year old Mini Schnauzer who is very fit and slim, so his chest is deep and his waist slim. Although I was still able to close the zip, the size of his chest caused the openings of the legs to be too tight. Best jacket I've seen, and so cheap!

Wrong size in packet which was a happy accident really as it was the size needed. I have a fat sausage dog (slow and old not over fed) and it fits him keeping his belly warm. Needs a little adjustment but then every coat I buy does! great zip, works well. It could only be improved by having a little piece of padding at the end of the zip as it finishes at the collar. This looks a bit uncomfortable but my dogs not complaining.

My Parsons JRT is not a fan of wearing anything but sometimes need protection against the weather. This does the trick. Easy to put on as it only requires front legs to be put into the jacket then zips down the back. It covers the tummy area really well. Measure your dog from the neck to the tail, round down in length for a dog with an upwards tail or up in length for a downwards tail.

Over the years I have had these coats for my many different variety of dogs. They zip up along the back and have the added advantage of protecting the underside of the dog from the wet as there is more material across the chest. I would highly recommend this type of coat over those that have just a strap to hold in place under the chest as it gives more protection from the elements.

I have a 4 month old cavapoo (quite small) and if she got even just a little wet she would really shiver. This keeps her back and chest really warm and dry. It is very easy to put on because of the back fastening, and she seemed to love it straight away. It is still a little loose on her at the moment, but still secure, and hopefully it will fit her for at least this winter.

Brilliant item. Arrived quickly. Fits perfect and easy to put on Maggie with the back zip. Surprised to find that it also had a tartan lining to it, I thought it was just the quilted outside. Only thing I had a laugh about was that when we come back from our walks she comes normaly through her dog flap and she got stuck the first time so have to open door for her now.
