Firstly, you should know I am writing this review from good experience. I have had various headphones from various manufacturers. I had some Corsair H1500i's, and I loved their sound to weight balance. After those, I have had Roccat Kaves, Roccat Kave mk2's, Logitech G430's, and Hyper X Clouds. None of them matched up to the H1500i's. I have now found a replacement for them in these HS50 Pro's. The HS50's are a little heavier, but the bass reproduction is excellent. They are never uncomfortable or unwieldy. The ear cups are exactly as described on the box; plush. No other word for them. Lots of give and not sweaty. The cups themselves are deep and quite large which is great for one who was blessed with large ears that stick out.My ears don't get sore or squashed. The headband cushion is very nice too, and the band feels strong with plenty of adjustment. All of the headphones I have had so far have had an in line control of some sort for the volume or mic muting etc. The HS50's are on the left ear cup, and I am still getting used to them but it feels like a better place to put them already. The included mic is definitely an acceptable quality. I spoke to friends in Discord and they all said it was very clear but like all headphone mics it lacked bass. I have a deep voice, but I also have a Blue Yeti so I just use that. However, if you will be using the mic I can tell you that with the HS50 Pro's I got a mic sponge to cover the mic, and a splitter cable was included to split the cable in to separate mic and headphone cables to connect to your pc. This will save you an extra few currencies on a 3rd party spliiter cable like I had to buy when I bought Hyper X Clouds. As for the sound on these HS50's, they're really good. Very strong across a multitude of frequencies. If you're gaming, like I do in games like Warzone, GTA Online, Detroit: Become Human, DOOM, Wreckfest and Forza 7, then you can expect these headphones to keep up with no loss of detail in the sound. This is without any software to download, plug n play. Warzone gets very hectic at times, yet they never let me down with footsteps or doors opening. I recommend the 'Boost' setting in the audio mix options in Warzone. This will boost all frequencies and you will never miss a footstep again. Someone should tell Dr. Disrespect to swap his Turtle Beach's for some HS50's because he would never complain about audio ever again. If you will be listening to music with these headphones I am happy to report largely the same outcome. I am an eclectic, so my library consists of various different types of music to test them out with. The headphones are stunning. It does vary depending on the quality of the source you're listening to, of course, but they blew me away. I have yet to connect them to my Denon amplifier, but if the results of everything I tested so far are anything to go by, then they can only sound even better when connected to a "cleaner" source with music on disk at a higher bitrate. I am extremely happy with the HS50 Pro's. They are lovely to look at, lovely to wear, and they sound lovely too. Well worth the price and I recommend them.

This set of Corsair HS50 headphones are an interesting exercise in cost-saving construction - not by being made from cheap plastic, but by using inelegant feeling but strong and therefore hopefully durable flat metal sheet for the side pieces that hold the speakers in place. The speaker enclosures appear from a distance to be of an open-back design because they have a metal grill covered in small holes, but when you inspect them more closely you see a flat sheet of plastic behind them and I'm fairly certain this is actually a closed-back design. Closed-back means that people sitting next to you aren't so troubled by annoying sound leakage, but you get a bit more heat build-up which isn't great in warm conditions.Having said this I didn't experience extreme heat build-up while wearing them. The band that goes over the top of your head is covered in a black material that looks a bit like leather but probably isn't, with blue cross-stitching in an attractive pattern. It is sufficiently softly padded that you don't suffer a great deal of discomfort and with the headphones weighing 303 grams excluding the cable you can wear them for long sessions before eventually ripping them off your head to give it a rest. Interestingly I didn't have to pull the adjustable sides down particularly far to fit my head and I wear a large size hat, so I suspect that if you have a small head or your ears are positioned high up your skull then you might find these headphones to be too large. The removeable microphone is fairly short so when you speak it sits off to the left of your mouth. I guess this is partly to make it convenient to handle and partly to reduce popping while talking. As with the rest of the construction of these headphones, the microphone is sturdy and feels like it will last a while. The cable is a helpful length - not so long that it gets in the way, and would be usable if you travel on a train and need to plug them into your phone. If you're plugging them into a distant PC or gaming device you might require an extension cable. On the end of the cable is a single unified headphone and microphone jack, and included in the box is a short splitter cable so you can plug the headphones and microphone into separate sockets.Sound-quality wise I got a pleasant emotional enjoyment from listening to my favourite music with these headphones, but was aware that the treble is a bit laid-back which is good from the point of view of protecting your hearing and listening for long sessions, but isn't particularly analytical - not that I felt I was actually missing any detail in my music. In summary, well built and a reasonable price from Corsair - a quality brand, albeit not one that is normally known for headphones, more for their PC components.

This was to replace an old Plantronics headset which I had been using for almost 20 years, I had already tried a headset costing about £20 from amazon (with 4.5 stars), but returned it as it was awful, so decided to spend a little more on this HS50 Pro model from Corsair.First of all, I was impressed with the build quality, the main band over your head is metal, and the ear cups are plastic with a metal grill, but very nicely put together with a no nonsense but great functionality approach. The inside of the top of the head band is also nicely padded with a nice diamond stitching effect. The headband is adjustable with numbered markings and there is a noticable notch/click about every 5mm,so you can adjust it and it will then stay in place. Also whilst the head band is metal and the attachments to the ear cups are also metal, they are separate pieces, therefore the ear cups are able to rotate by maybe 5 degrees in each direction to allow for a more comfortable fit.The ear pads are about 2cm think but not hard or firm, they are nice and soft and were very comfortable even at the end of my first 4 hour gaming session. The micro phone is a detachable plugin type and is also nice and flexible. It is very sensitive and if too close to your mouth it can pickup breath, but to remedy you can simply position it further away. HOWEVER also included with the headset was a foam microphone cover, and by fitting this over the end of the mic you can then position it much closer to your mouth without any distortion caused by breath when you speak, I was extremely happy to be provided with this option from Corsair as standard right out the box.Testing the mic in voice recorder and in discord, all worked great. Finally in terms of the sound output from the headphones, voices of all the other players were extremely clear and in terms of the in game music and effects all sounded perfectly find to me. The sound output can be very subjective from person to person, but having just came from a 20 year old in-expensive headset the sound from the HS50 sounded much deep with a bit less trebble, however I expect that this was due to extreme 'tinnyness' of my old headset which I was used to.....I have since listened to a few songs through the HS50 Pro now and they sounded great and perfectly fine, so I will say the sound output is perfectly fine also. For the price I think this is a great product and very happy with it, i would definitely buy it again.

Let me begin by saying that I bought the headset at £31.99 during a Black Friday sale. A massive saving from the RRP of £50. I will review this product as if I paid the full £50 price.Pros:- Excellent sound quality. Whether you want a headset to hear every detail in a game, play at competitive levels or even just use casually for music and movies these will not disappoint. The headset has great bass as well as treble and for £50 (and definitely less on a sale) you will seriously enjoy the sound.- Superb build quality. A few reviews state that these headphones break easily.....ignore them. Those reviews are most likely made by individuals that don’t take care of their products and toss all their accessories around without care. These headphones have a very sturdy and strong build quality, they have some slight weight and thickness to them (not so much that they become uncomfortable) which definitely yells “premium” when in hand or on head- Features: Detachable mic, on headset volume slider and microphone mute button. Very useful and handy to have while in game.Cons:- Mediocre microphone. This microphone is nothing to write home about. It’s not abysmal (especially considering it’s perhaps the best you may get at this price point) but at the same time it does make you question whether it may have been worth saving up a little more money to buy a dedicated quality microphone or even a higher end headset with a very clear microphone. When using this microphone, your voice lacks a lot of tone and bass and sounds incredibly flat. As a casual and semi-serious gamer this is fine for me as I only talk to friends over discord. However if you require crystal clear voice quality when you speak then these are most definitely not for you.- Uncomfortable at times. My ears are slightly large and stick out and so, they push against the inner of the headset when worn. This causes a great deal of discomfort when they are worn for upto and longer than 3 hours. I’ve managed to tolerate it thus far and have no intention of returning them when I’ve got the product at such a bargain price. However if comfort is key to you, I would not spend £50 on these. Conclusion:Four stars. Excellent purchase if you can buy these at a discount. However if you’re paying the full £50 RRP then you may want to consider other products if Microphone quality and Comfort is a deal breaker for you.

This Corsair HS50 Gaming Headset is a very straight forward does-what-it-says-on-the-tin sort of product. The design is really nice with a comfy padded headband. The large over-the-ear cups are also really comfy and naturally isolate sound well. They don’t don’t fold down, but the headband is obviously adjustable, and there’s some nice metal touches like the mesh on the outer ear pieces that delivers a quality feel. I’m using them with a Switch, Vita and a PS4. That’s one of the nice things about having a standard 3.5mm audio jack - it works with pretty much anything. There’s also a split mic/audio wire supplied for PC users. In use they feel really light and they’ve comfortable even after a couple of hours gaming. On the left earpiece there’s a volume dial control with a mute button for the mic. The mic is fully removable and when not in use there’s a small rubber cover for the mic socket. The mic is decent quality and better than I was expecting for the price. The sound quality is also really nice. There’s a decent directional quality to it. I was playing Doom on Switch handheld and there were screams and cries coming from all around me - it really added to the tension. Explosions and gunfire also have that tasty boom quality that takes your enjoyment up a little and makes everything feel that little more immersive. I thought the sound quality for music playback was also quite respectable. The nice warm bass does tend to flatten everything out a little, but I was very happy sat listening to some John Mayer whilst catching up on my work. There’s a lot of gaming headsets at around the fifty pound mark. Where this Corsair HS50 set is brand new (December 2017) it hasn't been discounted yet which might make it look a little pricey compared to some good quality older headsets. I think they’re still very worthy of your consideration though. They look nice, they feel well made and the audio and mic performance is very solid.

Good sized over ear gaming headphones that look fantastic and feel really well made, the headband is very comfy, well padded and the stitching is bang on. They fit well and have a fair amount of adjustment but it might be an idea to pop along somewhere to try them for fit first as they do seem to have a leaning to a larger size even when at the smallest band setting. While trying these out I found the cushioning around the ear fine and could wear them with no discomfort for quite some time. I use them on a PC and sound wise they come across as pretty detailed, explosions and guns sound pretty good and everything sounds as it should. I passed them to my son...the real gamer and he's into them,he uses them on his Xbox and was using a pair of Afterglow LV3 headphones, a budget option half the price of these (but he seems to go through headphones for fun) apparently his online friends say that he sounds much better on the microphone now, he thinks the sound is great too. One thing I didn't think about - the microphone is removeable and he also uses them on his iPhone, when you remove the mic there is a rubber plug that fits into the port, you might want to put that somewhere safe as it isn't permanently attached. Anyway he said the headphones look cool if you have them around your neck when out and about not cheap …I never thought of that but yeah they look good slung around your neck I guess. I listened to some music on his iPhone and they sounded a little thin until he adjusted the EQ on the music settings and they sounded really well. I forgot to mention the mute microphone button and volume controls next to each other on the headset ear piece. For £50 I'd say worth a punt they look good and seem really well built for the price, they don't feel cheap and my son prefers them to his Afterglow and his previous Turtle Beach which fell apart after 14 months.

The headset is Jet black with the only colour change being on the Corsair logo on each earcup and the metal sliver headband adjustment. There are no lights on this headset so it won't stand out. These are a full earcup design with decent isolation. The earcups have very little rotation through which means you can’t fold them flat when wearing them around your neck or for travelling to LAN parties. This rotation limitation also restricts the amount you can adjust these to fit your ears. It would have been nice to have more adjustment here. The headband is covered in a black mesh has plenty of size increase/decrease adjustment, and it has a decent amount of padded, allowing long periods of wear where I didn’t experience any discomfort. Each earpad also has ample of foam and is covered in the black mesh which I prefer of leather or faux leather as this can make my ear sweat. No such issues with these as that mesh works perfectly.Connectivity is provided by a 3.5mm single jack which is a shame as a USB connector would have been nice here. There is a splitter provided in the box to allow PC gamers to use the separate Mic and Audio jacks. They also work on Consoles so if you game on multiple devices you can use the same headset, which is nice. The microphone is average, but at this level the ability to remove it is awesome, and it has some nice flex/adjustment, but it is pretty quiet and tinny. It no worse than other headsets at this level but from Corsair I had hoped for some higher quality here. The cable is a decent length ensuing you are struggling to get the right distance, and it’s all rubber.Sound is good from these 50mm drivers, providing decent mids and treble with nice bass. I was able to easily identify footsteps at a decent range, which is a must for all FPS players and in music/videos, I had no issues.

Corsair CA-9011171-EU Stereo Gaming Headset (PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Mobile Device Compatible, Memory Foam Earcups, 50 mm Neodymium Speaker Drivers, Optimised Unidirectional Microphone) – GreenThe headphones. These are gaming optimised headphones from Corsair. They will work on the PC, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo and just about any device with a USB.They have a build in boom microphone and on ear controls for on the fly instant adjustments.Build.They seem well made and look very nice. They are solid without being too heavy. The have 50 mm drive units which should produce good bass.Fit.The ear cups are nice and soft and the headband is fully adjustable so getting a comfortable fit on anyhead should be achievable with some trial and error adjustments.Sound.From the Xbox the sound is very bass heavy but the midrange and high frequencies are not too bad. Explosions and bass lines hit hard and are enjoyable to listen to. Listening to music on the PC they sound good enough but are not that brilliant with the bass emphasis being over bearing most of the time. This can be adjusted out using the sound cards equalizer. These are definitely gaming headphones rather than music ones. Games are great on these with plenty of power and directionality to the sound. They are stereo rather than multi-channel but the stereo sound stage and sound separation is pretty good giving an excellent impression of depth and direction.Overall.Nicely made headphones with the sound optimised for games rather than music. For the price they do very well but this is a very crowded market. If you want a well made and good gamming headset then these should be on your shortlist in the under £70 category.

Sound quality: so far I have mostly used these for listening to music where the sound quality has been fine. Not as good as audiophile headphones costing four times as much, obviously, but good for the price. Old Count Basie tunes on Spotify sounded especially good.Comfort: I spent a solid hour playing random music and hardly noticed I was wearing headphones. I have much more expensive cans which start to make the tops of my ears sore after that much time, but these felt like I could wear them all day, because of the style of the cups. These may be the most comfortable headphones I have worn. I have a large head (crash helmet size XL or 2xL) but my wife (crash helmet size M)also found them comfortable.Features: the cable ends in a dual-use plug for both mic and headphones so it can plug directly into a mobile phone, tablet or those laptops and desktops that have a TRRS-type of socket. If, like me, you have separate mic and audio sockets on your PC you need an adaptor to split the cable. The good news is that such an adaptor comes with these headphones. The microphone is detachable, so you can just use these as adequate headphones, but with the microphone in place you can use Skype, Discord or whatever. We tried these out on Discord and everything was perfectly clear at the other end. The only thing to watch out for is that there is a mute button on the left cup. I accidentally pressed it in and thought there was something wrong with the PC settings. Had I realised I had muted them they would have worked straight out of the box.Overall I found these to be very good headphones for the price, and very comfortable to wear. Easy on the ear in both senses of the phrase.

Comfortable headset with a well padded headband. Not hugely adjustable, my wife finds them too large but they fit me reasonably well on the smallest setting. They will extend by 5cm - 2½cm each side, to fit larger sizes. The ear cups are large and well padded, enough to actually provide storage for the detachable mic when its not being used. It tucks nicely behind the upper side of the ear padding, I know mine would get itself lost if it were stored anywhere else! The grommet for the mic connection will also store neatly here when the mic is in use. The mic itself has an 89cm totally flexible boom which sits wherever it is comfortable and it stays there. The left side earpiece has a well placed volume control and a very handy mic mute button just below it. The 70cm long wired connection sits just below this and feeds the right earpiece via the head band, there is a 20cm adaptor for the single jack plug to fit older, two socket fittings (Head phones / mic) included in the package.Sound and Mic performance. The response in the headset is very good for gaming, and reasonable for listening to music. The base response is alright and the high notes okay. There is no vocal sibilance that I could hear and the tone is generally good. The mic (I am told) produced a clear not muffled voice whilst gaming and it is perfectly adequate on Skype. All round good headset, Corsair always seem to produce quality goods, but at a price, and the price is sometimes on the high side, which is my feeling for this headset, hence the four stars.

I let my husband have these, as his headphones had just broken, so he had to write the review! This is his opinion...I've never been so conflicted with a review...these headphones sound really good, they have a good bass and a good audio range overall. My hearing is getting poor, but these headphones more than make up for my bad hearing. But, unfortunately the build quality is very poor and predominantly plastic and they feel and look cheaper than the actual price would suggest they should be. The plastic build quality makes them lightweight, which is good and they don't feel too heavy on your head. They do have a metal interior on the head section, which has a covered of plastic on the outside and a comfortable padded head rest on the inside. The fitting is comfortable even on my head, which is larger than most and I always need the largest hat size! So sizing is generous for most. The volume control is on the left headphone, next to the mute button, which in lies another problem with it. I'm used to a volume control inline with the wire, (which is rubber coated btw) and when I reach up to mute my mic, I end up reducing the sound instead, or when I adjust the sound I catch the mute button. So the placement of both buttons on the same headset is not the best idea. Overall it's a good headset for sound quality, but there are much better headsets with both good quality sound and build for this price and I feel I expected more from a Corsair product than what I got. They feels and look cheap, but sound good.

My first thought on using this headset is that it's quite a big fit - I don't have a small head, but these were definitely on the larger size for me. It's not really a problem, but if you have a smaller head then you may want to look elsewhere. They have a decent fit, though probably a little tighter than I would like. The microphone is actually pretty good, and if that's an important factor for you then you will be pleasantly surprised by how well this one performs. The mic also has a very sturdy but flexible cord/stick, which is very easy to position and works very well.Sound quality is fine - clearly not the highest quality out there, but given the relatively budget nature of these headphones it certainly seems sufficient.Unlike how they're shown in one of the product images, the headphones don't come with any kind of stand, but that's to be expected for this price range. There is also no need for a charging facility, as these are wired headphones.Included in the box is a splitter, so if you have a gaming PC with separate mic and audio output 3.5mm sockets then you can use the splitter for this.I tested the headphones on Xbox One, PS4 and PC - it worked fine on all three, but if you want to use these on Xbox you'll need to ensure you have the newer models of controllers that include a 3.5mm headphone jack.Overall, the headphones have a decent build quality and the sound is fine for their budget, and would work well as an entry-level product for someone getting into online gaming.

This headset is a brilliant value-option that is perfect for PS4 gaming. The build quality looks amazing, especially at this price. It provides a very comfortable, padded stitched headband with a very useful volume slider and mute button, nicely placed below the left earcup for easy access. The mic is excellent, I didn't face any issue with its clarity or background noise, and is detachable. It didn't sound great listening to music with this, especially with the volume being surprisingly low even when increased. On the other hand for its main purpose of gaming, this headset really delivers fantastic overall surround sound which provided me superb immersion when playing. It does generally do a good job in keeping noise out with it's over ear-style, it helps you block yourself out to your surrounding environment but not too much so you can still have awareness of things in your house which was perfect for me.However, a key drawback with this headset has to be the cushions which are very unusual compared to all the other headsets I have used. It's oddly hollow, with little actual cushion, and stiff when placed on your head making it uncomfortable. Gladly over time I became used to it and don't feel too bothered by it now. Nonetheless, it should be better. Overall, I would still highly recommend this as you definitely get more compared to other headsets at this price point, in terms of excellent build quality, all-around great sound and essential features.

For £55 this is a steal of a headset! If you are on a budget and can't reach the high end price points then this is the headset for you.The headset is quite bare bones in terms of accessories, coming with just an audio splitter to split the single analog signal into input and output, the removable microphone, as well as a small rubber plug in case you don't need the mic.I expected a plastic construction, some possibly discomfort and sub-standard sound. What I got was excellent, sturdy build quality (vastly superior to that of my Razer Kraken 7.1's), comfortable ear faux leather ear cups that sit well over the ears and sound quality that allows me to pick off targets in CS:GO with ease. The mic is better than expected as it has a flexible metal construction rotating plastic tip capable of offering easily legible communication on discord, as well as in game. There are some reviewers that have complained about noise leaking from the headset into the headset's mic. After testing this, as I am using the headset on maximum volume, I can say that it doesn't happen to me and that I also use a blue yeti as a main microphone. That thing picks up EVERYTHING and can't detect any residual sound leaking out.Overall I think this is a solid buy for the price, good for anyone starting out or looking for a budget option. If its in a sale I wouldn't hesitate to pick up a second one for a friend or even as a seperate pair of media headphones for other devices.
