Being able to squeeze the sides of this tool means it can be used easily in all sizes of avocado. I get good results from this and indeed this is the second one I have bought. Yes the avocado needs to be ripe (but unripe ones are a bit nasty!) I recomend this item and found it at a good price here.

I used this with small avocados and it didn't work all that great. I think it would work better if I did not have to squeeze so hard to make it small for the shape of the avocado. The last half of the avocado didn't really cut it kind of just got stuck.

By mistake I managed to order two of these from different suppliers. The Amazon one was dearer as was the postage ending up twice as much as the first one. Not good!

Pretty good tool, but not sharp enough to slice right through to the end, so you have to push the last little bit through.

We eat a lot of avacados and I like this so much better than the metal one we had before. Works great!
