Over the years, I had had the original coloured ball and the black/clear ball, and loved them. When my last one fell out of the cupboard and broke, I was very uncertain about buying this. The reviews weren't great, and it didn't look the same - the photos made it look very different, not even spherical. However, I needn't have worried - it is spherical, and a very nice bit of kit. It is like they took the original, learned some things and made it even better. I really love the ease of filling it - just turn the top and remove to give a hole to pour the peppercorns in, rather than the old slidey side thing that meant peppercorns skidding over the kitchen floor when they missed as you were pouringthem in.

I originally had the previous design , which was bought as a gift, however the salt ball ears snapped off through normal use and still having the pepper ball I replaced with the new design. This appears a better construction than the old design, and the although many people complain about the ability to grind the salt that come with the product I have experienced no difficulties. Additional the fine to course grinding also appears to work well fro me . The only negative that I have noticed is the filling is a little tricky but thats really looking for a fault. All in all a good replacement for it's previous iteration.

Love this salt grinder. I had a similar one, but it was accidentally dropped and it shattered. I think I prefer this one, much easier to refill and being able to opt for grain thickness is a great addition. It's very comfortable to use, perfect size, and I keep this as my personal salt grinder when cooking. Only downside I think is that it is slightly expensive as Waitrose sell one for £12. However, my local store didn't stock it. So I bought this instead, bearing in mind it was delivered free of charge with Amazon, can't complain too much. Would be happy to recommend.

I used to have the larger version of the pepper mill which was great and easy to use as you just squeeze the handles together in the palm of your hands. However, these smaller balls are a little more difficult to use as you can't hold the handles in the palm of your hands. They both have a magnet set into the back of them which is ideal for sticking them onto your metal cooker/microwave/fridge.

Very pleased with this product, great for seasoning raw meats &c. as you can add the pepper weith one hand and handle the food with the other. One caveat, it is a bit tricky to close the pepper corn holder, untill you notice a pair of embossed arrows in the clear container and black lid, align theses arrows before you twist together, and "Roberts your Mother's Brother", job done.

Easy to fill and use.Hardly drop any salt and pepper after use (usually you get a few remnants )Love that they're magnetic as have never lost one - ever! This is my second set.I dropped my first set and weakened the sliding pepper slot for refill so I have to use sellotape to secure to stop peppercorns rolling all over my table, floor and guests!

Bought to replace my husband's previous set of these salt and pepper pots, these are cute, a good enough size to hold in your hand, the only issue is that the pepper mill doesn't grind the pepper much so expect a few whole grains escaping. In our case though, these were mainly bought as a novelty but it could get a little frustrating.

These are very handy, just attach them to the cooker hood or extractor and you'll always know where they are (as opposed to searching for where you last left them). We're on our second set as we dropped one of the first, well worth a tenner. Fine for home cooking provided you don't take yourself too seriously!!

These were bought for my mum. We've had a set for 10 months and she had admired them. They are fun and practical. They may not last for ever, and I haven't risked keeping them stuck to the fridge with the magnets (though this seems to work well) just in case they fall off. We really like them.

I have been looking for a long time for a grinder that is one handed and operates without batteries. this fits the bill perfectly, is well made and easy to fill and use. I have not had this product for long so do not know how long it will last, but so far, so good! Would recommend

Had a similar looking pepperball and snapped a handle clean off in normal usage. This one is very well made with mall differences in the handle design making it much stronger and easier to use. This is a genuine product which costs more than cheap copies but it is worth it.

These are good, very convenient and whilst not tough enough for heavy duty kitchen use, they work fine when cooking for up to 4 people. More than that and you will need something that grinds faster and in higher volume, but when cooking just for family they are very handy.

Love this, I had a different one that lasted years and years but the plastic handle snapped. I was lost without it so bought this. Well worth it. Definitely recommend this product, easy to use, light weight perfect for cooking or a quick dash if pepper.

Easy to use one handed. Fills with plenty of pepper corns so last a long time before refilling. Only dropped a star as I can't see a way to adjust hoarseness of grind like with traditional mills. Quite a coarse grind.

I LOVE this grinder! Very happy to grind with one hand whilst stirring with the other and really chuffed that I can alter the coarseness of the ground salt! Also entertained by the 'rabbit ears' look of the grinder!
