It's always been a problem for outdoor photographers travelling light : you take the lens off your SLR, and try to hold it, the camera body and the lens you are intending to put on the body while removing the cap from the back of the new lens, putting it on the old one. Fine if you have somewhere clean to put things down, nice big fluff and junk free pockets or have three hands,Not having a spare hand, stood in a muddy field, you just have to be dexterous and very careful. I've never dropped a lens yet, just the odd cap, but it is a worry. So, needing a padded case to take a new lens I saw this and thought ..that's novel, wonder if it actually works ? I'm pleased to report that it does .You flip the top open (it sits with the hinge side away from your body) and an inner sleeve of thin material and elasticated mesh pops up to safely hold the lens you removed, while you take the new lens from the main pouch and get it on the camera.Even without the lens changing facility, this is a nice case and a bargain at the price, well padded all round, with a hefty double velcro locking belt loop, tough shoulder strap clips, and a little elasticated mesh pocket on one side which would hold a lens cap (with no closure I'd be wary of using it for an expensive filter in caseit fell out ) and a smaller velcro closed slip pocket on the other side which is intended to hold the detachable rain cover. The rain cover is a nice touch, but as my lens (a Nikkor afs 55-200) is quite short I prefer to store the cover in the bottom of the lens compartment to afford a little extra padding. The lens still has plenty of room with a metal lens hood screwed in place, and I can even leave the retractable barrel out and still close the pouch lid, which makes it quick to get the lens into action. The pop up lid compartment is deep enough to safely hold that lens whilst changing over.So why have I not given this 5* ? One detail lets it down for me , the main compartment closes with velcro, rather than a zip. If this had a zip it would be perfect, more secure, quieter in use and probably more expensive ! For the price, a fraction of the cost of a similar Lowepro case, this is a really good buy.

Clever concept and well made but a bit tight. Many DSLRs lenses are quite fat so having the case ( mine is small one) would make it quicker to get them out. ( have a Nikon 18-300 + sigma 10-20) both fit but a bit tight for my own liking. Otherwise really good and Velcro fastening is double so really secure if you want to wear it on the belt.

I brought two to attach to the sides of a Hama Defender Colt 170 case and they are perfect for the job. They comfortably fit my Olympus 7-14mm f2.8 and 12-40mm f2.8 lenses. They’re well made and waterproof covers are a good fit. For the price they are an absolute bargain

Great value and well built with handy rain cover.Fits most standard zooms etc well, but is a tight fit for a 10-20mm or similar. Could do with being a cm or two wider.

High quality case which eliminates the necessity to juggle lenses whilst changing them as the lid folds over to take one lens whist removing the other from the case.

Great bag to put my new 24-105 f4 lens in. Fits like a glove. Good padding all round.
