I know it doesn't say it does in the description, but I chanced it because I needed a hood and this is the original manufacturer's brand; so this is just to warn others, it doesn't fit the EF 70-300mm lens. The hood is a 3 lug fitting and the EF 70-300mm lens only has 2 lugs.It does however fit the EFS 18-55mm and works well. I knocked it down a star because it's expensive for what it is and a bulky bit of plastic; I wish I'd got something collapsible. It twists on and copes with other filters being attached already, such as UV and Polarizing. Even with my sausage fingers I can get the lens cap on and off with this fitted (just). I just wish it fitted a broader range of canon lenses.

Some people here make reference to the cost of these hoods by Canon?I would like to point out that Amazon have heavily discounted this hood (and others) so it's very good value for money, the fact that the Canon RRP is higher is of little relevance as you are buying it cheaper! It does not matter if you think it only costs 50p to manufacture, it's the retail price that counts.Canon lens hoods are of a high quality and tailored specially for each lens, personally I would only use genuine hoods on my lenses. And thanks again to Amazon for a cracking price, and yet again, superb service!

Works perfectly, fits my 70-300 and my 90-300 perfectly, also can be used on my kit 17-55 in an emergency, but it shows in the edges of the shot if your under 25mm, just zoom in a little and it will work fine. Strong plastic, good design, just works. Still a crazy price for what it is and i think they should come free with every lens considering how much they cost to make (its pennies), but still works good.5/5 no complaints.

Bought this lens hood for my Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom AF Lens, and it fits perfectly well. It also sits okay on the stock lens I got with my Canon EOS 400D.Although it does the job, it does look a bit clumsy when on your lens and makes it look like a torpedo...but hey, it does the job it's meant to and it is specific for the lens I bought it for.

For a bit of plastic 8.77 or what ever may seem a bit much, but this is the camera world.I do like it, i do alot of out door photography and filming and glare is always an issue when you don't want it. So i purchased this it works brilliantly, and it looks really mean on the front of your camera :DMust buy :D

So good I need to buy another one.......!does what is says on the box but don't try one handed turnaround on lense otherwise its goodbye and another trip to Amazon! If you are in Managgio, Lake Como there is one at the bottom of the small harbour just waiting rescue - if you can get it then its yours!

Essentially, a plastic cone. Pricey for what it is, but then it is a genuine canon part, it's quite sturdy, well built, but it is just a plastic cone! Does the job though on a canon 55-250 IS lens, so worth having the hood.If you need a hood for a canon lens, can't fault this one really.

Very happy with the lens hood, fits well and gives clearer image when closer to pointing near the sun. however canon ought to include these with all their lenses rather than just the L series, also £8 for an injection molded piece of plastic seems abit high, Very good piece of kit tho

I purchased this product for use on my 55-250mm and it also fits on my 18-55mm lens. Excellent quality and materials. I am a very brand loyal person and would recommend this over a non Canon product anyday. Delivery from Avides Media was rapid and with excellent progress updates.

Simple to fit, light weight leaving almost no impact on the balance of the camera, easy to remove and may even have a second use, just screw it on that lens filter you never use and its a drinks cup - just remember to wash it up well and dry it before using it again!

I bought this partly to see how it improves my photography and partly to keep the rain off and protect the lens. It fits both my lenses, 18-55 & 55-250 easily. Bought it as its branded so I knew its gonna be right but its a lot of cash for what it is so 4 stars not 5

So I could have bought a cheaper version of this, but for an extra few quid, why compromise on quality and something which will protect your expensive lens. Also a lot cheaper than would normally pay for a Canon product. Great product, well made... Win win

if to be honest you really don't need this hood... quality is great and fit is great but a cheaper one would do the same job... I bought it in a rush and didn't shop around so its my own fault.. cant fault it though but really should come on the lens

This is a good extra to have. Not only will it keep unwanted light out of the lens but will also provide additional protection to it. It also fits the opposite way for storage if required. Easy to fit and quite sturdy. Not a bad price either.

This Canon ET-60 lens hood does just what I expected. It is lightweight, compact, easy to attach and detach, and stores neatly reversed on the lens. The item was well priced, well packed, and delivered promptly.
