There isn't much you can say about this item really. It screws smoothly onto the front of any lens with a 55mm filter thread, and allows a P-series Cokin filter holder to be slotted onto it.Unlike other adaptor rings in the range, such as the 77mm and 72mm, this one doesn't come out of my bag very often as I rarely use a 55mm-threaded lens. So I somewhat resent paying almost a tenner for this one, whereas it seemed more fair with the other adaptors which I use much more frequently. But maybe that's just me!From the feel of it I would say it is made of aluminium or steel - although practically weightless there is no give or flex in it at all.The adaptor ring comes in a small plastic bag with a simple card insert; that's all there is to it.This item does its job, it's not really that over-priced compared to a lot of camera accessories, and it is well machined. Can't be faulted!

Bought not as a Cokin filter adapter but as an adapter instead for my Canon 24-105 f4L lens to use with my Yongnuo YN-14EX macro ring lite which came with various lens adapters up to a maximum of 72mm - no good for the 77mm diameter required. Could not for the life of me find an 'official' adapter anywhere other than via a company called 'Eachshot' based in China. I ordered one and waited the requisite 5 weeks for delivery and when it did finally arrive it was the wrong size however I did get a refund without problem. This Cokin adapter is the next best thing but it does require just a little sanding to reduce the outer diameter to fit the Yongnuo without catching - not a problem as it's made of metal, probably aluminium, and is robust enough to cope with it. I can now use my Macro ring lite with my 24-105 so I'm a happy bunny.

I bought the 77 mm adapter to use with a Cokin P-series filter system. It doesn't cost a lot, was delivered promptly, is well made, fits snugly onto the lens and works as it should with the Cokin filter holder. It's all good.Well, almost. What isn't good really isn't the fault of this adapter and that's that using a Cokin P-series filter system, where the filters are 84 mm wide, on a lens which needs a 77 mm adapter means that there will be times when the filters intrude on the edges of your shot. That's something to bear in mind but it isn't the fault of this adapter ring which does what you want it to do.

Theres not much to say about this adapter ring but I will say this, don't risk potentially damaging the thread on an expensive lens by buying a cheap copy of this ring. The cheap ones can have a badly cut thread which will ruin the filter thread on your lens, could get stuck on your lens as poorly cut threads are easier to cross thread and also, it might not fit the Cokin filter holder properly. Yes, this is expensive for what it is essentially a large aluminium washer with a small thread but it fits properly, the thread is cleanly cut and you have peace of mind. That's why it's worth the price.

It's a metal screw mount flange given a very smooth (and quite hard) black coating. It may not be Vantablack (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vantablack for what that is), but it's pretty good. It fits my camera and even when only slightly tightened it has enough grip that the Cokin filter holder can be turned anti-clockwise repeatedly without it loosening, whilst retaining enough grip on the holder that it can be stopped at any angle, and hold it there. There are comments about it being expensive, but you are paying for a small piece of precision engineering and an optical quality coating.

There is not much that can be said about this item. I bought this as an adapter ring for my yn14ex ring flash and it works great with no adjustments being necessary. I decided to risk buying it when I read somebody else had done the same thing after failing to find a dedicated ring for my ring flash without buying it again to get one that now comes with it or paying up to £40 for another complete set. Well done kokin, your product is truly versatile, it's also metal and I'm confident I'll not need another for years. Bargain

Really not a lot to say about this. I bought this for a Canon 10-18mm lens and it works great, just watch it on the wide end as you start to see the filter holder although that isn't Cokins fault and is the reason they sell their Z series of filters. This ring is great, it is metal, it fits perfectly and it is really low profile reducing distance between the front element and the filter. Arrived really quickly as well.

Compared to products made in China this does not seem such good value but it is well made. The adapter is Aluminium with a black anodised finish so it should last quite well.I was tempted to go for a cheaper alternative but as it will be shared between 3 lenses I did not want to risk it cross threading or seizing on a lens. The Cokin adapter screws on the lens nicely and fits the filter holder perfectly.

I use this with the set of cokin filteres. A very good set of filters for a low price. I was told by a reputable camera dealer that I couldn't get an 82mm suitable nd grad filter set for less than 400 quid. I asked if cokin did any, he said no, I went online and bought this, with the filters for less than 50 quid. Now all I need is the ability to use them properly. All done in photoshop these days.

I had ordered this item from my local branch of Jessops; after waiting over three weeks and visiting the shop on two occasions to enquire of its whereabouts I finally gave up and placed an order with Amazon, I received the above item the following morning. As with all items that I have bought through Amazon the service has prove, yet again, to be second to none, welldone & thank you.

I always use a UV filter to protect my lenses so an adapter ring is essential. I leave it attached to the lens so it is easy to slide the filter holder on. As I always used graduated filters for outdoor work, I find this the easiest and quickest method. The ring screws on smoothly and the filter holder slides on without trouble. It does what it says 'on the tin'.

The ring has a nice feel to it, no rough edges but I have trouble threading it on the one 77mm lens that I own. However I have the same trouble loading the 67mm ring onto the two lenses I own.I do not have problems loading filters so i must presume there is a problem with the thread on each of these ringsAll three lenses are L class Canon lenses.
