This camera packs a lot of punch for its size, is easy to use and less than half the weight of my dslr. I wasn’t expecting fantastic images on par with the dslr but I am pleasantly supprised. The screen is not very clear and you think your getting glared or grainy / vignetted shots, but when down-loaded to comp they are brilliant, just the screen on the camera not to great. There is no view finder.The reason 4 stars, not 5... the battery life. doesn’t last a day out. Have to charge while out

I haven’t owned an actual camera in quite a while and I have previously owned both an SLR Cannon camera and a standard small digital camera. Having had the day to play with this Cannon Power Shot camera I am very pleased and impressed with the quality of the cameras zoom range and quality when zoomed in and the amount of available functions. The camera is light and fits well in the hand and has A fixed lens which might not suit everyone but this bridges the gap between the two types of camera.

I bought this for daughters birthday. She is going to NY in Nov and said she wanted to buy a camera, not have to rely on her phone. I thought this would give her time to get used to it before her trip. She needed no time to explore features it is so easy to use. Awesome is how she described it! She had the hang of it the next day. Powerful zoom will help if she can't close enough to the sights she wants to see. At the moment she is taking very professional looking photos of her 2 year old boy.

At first I found this camera incredibly basic, and the screen a bit dated. I've since tracked down more options via the 'live' mode menu though, which has improved things a lot. Auto mode is fine, but colours can look a bit odd in photos. The zoom is impressive (but a bit noisy), but the camera doesn't handle low light that well & can be slow to respond. It's very small & light though, and being being able to transfer photos easily to your phone/tablet via wifi is great - ideal for travelling.

We have being wanting a good quality camera for a long time, we have previously brought cheaper ones that have not done the job very well. As a family of 5 we thought it was time for a good quality camera and we were not disappointed! This camera is amazing! Small and lightweight, easy to carry around. Has an amazing zoom and the quality of the photos are amazing! I’ve been moving the pictures from the camera to my phone with an app it’s so simple and makes getting photos printed super easy!

This camera works well, the picture quality is great. It has a few less features than I would have liked but overall it’s not a big issue. The optical zoom works very well, picking up and focusing on the moon, insects, ducks and aeroplanes for example. The auto focus is a great addition to the zoom feature. To focus better on moving objects, a tripod would be recommended, not that you can’t capture without it however. You can’t change the shutter speed but changing the ISO upto 1600 helps.

This camera is small and compact fitting easily into hand baggage. Pictures are good. Itt worked fine for taking pictures. However, the battery ran out befoe a week was out and I hadn't taken that many. I would normally expect camera batteries too last a lot longer. The other issue is the complicated connection via app on mobile phone for uploading pictures and this feature was my main for purchase. I didn't successfully upload any photos so just reverted to using mobile phone instead.

The camera is incredibly simple to use and some things (such as uplading images to the laptop) are even easier than the instructions suggest. The quality of the images is excellent, even when taking close ups, and without the need to switch to a macro function. The flash does not automatically click open, however, you can frequently ignore the flash prompt if you can keep the camera steady (even for close-ups) as it will still produce excellently clear photos in relatively 'poor light'.

The Canon Powershot SX430 is a good camera for everyday use. We have used it on several occasions now and found the quality of images to be good. Especially during movement, the camera takes sharp images and the huge zoom is a big plus. However, we also found that changing the picture resolution doesn't seem to make a huge difference and that our smartphones appear to take better pictures in some conditions. This may also, however, be due to our lack of practice with camera settings.

This is a great compact camera with the power of any big camera, combined with the app on a smart phone makes this camera stand out. The live view function will make taking family photos much easier and you can transfer photos from the camera straight to any WiFi/Bluetooth device meaning more storage on the camera. The zoom on the camera is amazing I've zoomed in on a face at 200 metres away and it's still a clear picture at x180. I'd highly recommend this product to anyone.

I bought this camera at the last minute to take on holiday, and it's one of the best buys I've made. It's so simple to use and set up and takes fantastic pictures. The zoom is amazing. Low light is not a problem for it either, it self adjusts to cater or if you prefer, just pop up the flash on it and hold the shutter button for 2 seconds. If you're confident enough you can do everything 1 handed with it. Video capture is Brilliant too, and the sound quality is excellent.

GOOD POINTSI find this camera great to use, the "anti shake" feature is very helpful. It takes high quality photos which are great to use if selling on eBay. The camera has a "auto" mode which is the best and most reliable. BAD POINTS I find it a fiddle getting the battery & SD Card in and out, not easy to do if you have larger fingers or and tremors etc. You have to take the battery out to charge, there is no way to charge while it is in the camera.

I bought this camera for myself after previously owning a digital camera as I wanted to get into photography more and it's brill the picture quality is great and the zoom is brilliant I also love how it has a rechargeable battery which lasts so long when fully charged I'm impressed with how long the battery actually lasts also used the camera for video and picture and sound quality are brilliant I would definitely reccomend this camera to family and friends.

Good camera picture quality and the built in flash is really helpful in dimmly lite areas and gives a good amount of light, the video and sound quality are also good, it feels a good weight to handle not to light and not to heavy to hold up for long periods oftime, build quality is good and does'nt look cheap and looks like it could take day to day wear and tear. the only down side is trying to connect it to another device via WIFI it can be a pain.

After shopping around I bought camera as an entry-level ~£200 bridge camera.Firstly, it takes very good photos compared to a mobile phone, especially when zooming in. The "Auto" mode is very capable as it selects different ISO and aperture settings making getting a nice photo easy.However, it lacks the ability to change aperture independently and I've found the Wifi transfer to be flaky.Some photos I've taken are attached to this review
