I'm a corporate film maker who has embraced the DSLR / CSC revolution. I was prepared to lose useful functionality for that lovely large sensor look and implied production value. I've swapped my EOS cameras for Lumix G series (G7 & G80) and have been loving the features that Panasonic have included like dual IS, 4K modes etc. I didn't miss karting my Sony DSR around with huge vinten tripod, but did miss things like Servo zooming, parfocal lenses and the like, and I think the FZ2000 combines the benefits of both, 1" is still a pretty huge sensor capable of shallow depth of field, but also allows a fast-ish flexible zoom with very decent IQ across the range. Chuck in a 50i mode and 10bit recording (with external recorder)and you have a broadcast capable unit, ideal for budget productions, or ENG, eventing and the like. It's not perfect, but it ticks a lot of boxes, and although not cheap in absolute terms, Panasonic have been very thoughtful about many of the additions. For absolute quality and style, I would probably still reach for my G camera and interchangable lenses, for B-Roll, GVs or something that requires camera and lens movements I would reach for the FZ2000. A stroke of genius is that my old Manfrotto 521P lanc style controller will work giving me pan-bar zooming and rec/start stop, leaving my other hand free for focus.. but its a shame there is no 'on the fly' iris ring or adjust on the left hand side of the camera, this would make a great camera nearly perfect.. Finally, wouldn't have minded a shorter zoom with a constant aperture, and a wider angle in 4K mode, but on balance I'm very happy.

I bought this bridge camera to reduce the weight of photography equipment I carry when travelling. I have taken it to the Galapagos and Africa and taken some very good photographs with it, and a new area for me, video and HD. The controls are simple, the dedicated function buttons are a good idea but in reality I only use one or two of them, and in general the menu system is good, although it is quite easy to alter some settings "by accident" when searching through the various lists. The various warnings about dust and moisture entering the camera are quite intrusive and I found that my concerns could be eased by keeping the camera in a small dry bag when not in hand, so far (18 months)I have had no issues and i have used the camera on fast boats in Ecuador and very dusty Africa, but the lack of dust and waterproofing is always a nagging concern. The camera is quite large and heavy, although the weight is comfortable in the hands and allows you to keep the camera steady. However, it is almost as large as a DSLR so cannot easily be used discreetly. Overall, I like it, and I have sold off all my AFSC and full frame kit and bought a Panasonic G9. I took both the G9 and FZ2000 to Africa and used both. The G9 does everything that the FZ2000 does except have that very convenient zoom lens that makes a single unit suitable for almost every occasion.

I traded up from the Fz 1000 to the FZ 2000 (UK), and can make the following observations Basically the same 1" Sensor as the FZ 1000, The image quality for still photography is equal and more than satisfactory. The extra 80 mm does have some impact, although 600 mm would've been nice. The extra optical zoom extends the range to a very usable 960 mm and still returns a clean and usable JPEG. The fz2000 expands upon the already excellent control interface and user experience of its predecessor. Function buttons, dials, touchscreen adjustments all enhance Panasonic's useability. The 4K photo functions are a huge advance on the FZ 1000: pre-burst,full function bracketing and stacking open up a whole new possibilities for every kind and style of photography. ND filters are obviously a `major` new feature. On the photography front, I also use the camera mainly for `bird photography` and have had excellent hit rates, also the expanded features like post focus, focus stacking, and 4k photo have come in very handy along with the ND-filters, and extra 80mm zoom, the addition of a touch screen was very helpful, i had always missed one on my previous fz1000, all in all, a very highly capable camera for both photo and video, and a superb upgrade from the fz1000!!

I am an amateur photographer having owned Nikon DSLR's for years. My main hobby is taking photo's and video clips and publishing them through a very good slide show package. Family, friends and neighbours over the years have appreciated the DVD's given to them. I have been thinking of bridge camera's for some time for the obvious reason of not having to spend time changing lens in all weathers. I found the FZ2000 reviews and felt satisfied it was worth having a go. So far I am delighted with this camera's performance. It is a bit bulky when the lens is opened, but I am used to this with the telephoto lens on my Nikon, so not a problem for me.Someone has to pay for the R&D so I suppose that's why manufacturers have to try and claw the costs back in the early days. No doubt the price will come down in the near future, but I didn't want to wait so have bought it happily with my eyes wide open. I'm looking forward to taming this camera to my needs. Anyone want to buy a great DLSR kit?

I bought this primarily to use as a video camera, attracted by the long lens, the 4k quality, the sensor size, mic and headphone connectors, file format and output settings and the unlimited recording feature. All have been superb. The bonus has been the excellent image stabilisation system which makes some challenging hand held shots that would not have been possible with older cameras entirely usable in finished films. The combination of automatic, mode option and full manual control in video as well as in stills is a very powerful setup and it has already replaced an earlier lumix with a larger sensor as my preferred option in most filming situations. It struggles a little in very low light, and the f-stop soon moves off the 2.8 setting once you begin to zoom in. All round, an excellent choice, and if I were in the wedding video business I would be looking at this as the preferred B camera, if not the main ...

It is the most expensive camera I have ever purchased but wow, what a camera. It is that good it even makes me look like David Bailey. The pictures in very low light are every bit as good as images taken in daylight and with the flash. I suffer terrible with my hands and wrist's particulary with the shakes but this camera even deals with that for me leaving me with fantastic images. The multi burst option lets you capture everything and even sounds like a professional camera. The 4K video results are stunning and the features are outstanding. You can view your pictures from the camera as a slid show to music, from the camera and even stream straight to you television without wires,it more or less does it all for you. then if all this was not enough the Panasonic five years warranty gives you piece of mind for years to come.

Bought the FZ2000 as replacement for my Canon SX40 and with the convenience of not having to carry the extra lenses when using my DSLR. The 1 inch sensor was the first thing that attracted me but I have yet to decide if the still image quality is any better than the SX40 . The features available are however very impressive , such as the focus stacking and the option to merge in camera . I have also been experimenting with the "time lapse options" and am surprised how easy it it to use, and only just found out that you can also merge your time lapse video in camera rather than having to use software to produce the video. The camera body is quite large which I don't mind and as a camera you can just carry around or take on holiday without having to carry extra lenses is almost perfect.

I Requested his camera for my birthday to replace an aging Canon dslr After a lot of research and the like i decided on this Panasonic camera and i am not disappointed so far I am by no means a pro user but do love taking pictures and travet and just messing around . The canon was getting a bit heavy to take abroad and so i decided to go for the lumix over the sony RX10 mk4 purley on price i couldn't justify the price on the sony even though a lot of reviews say its a better camera My only moan is that the camera has no moisture or dust protection and the battery life is a bit short but other than that i love the camera and no doubt when time goes on and i get more used to the camera may findsomething else to moan about but at the moment think its a great camers

as I am in a wheelchair the fixed lens is convenient less bits to drop! i am interested in focus stacking so the focus ring and built in focus stacking and large image sensor seemed to solve the problems with the fz200 but the focus stacking and builtin prosesing is poor and the camera focus hunts on low detail frames produceing to many duplicate frames even using helicon a lot of work is needed to produce good image. Using the focus ring, full frame mode and helicon good results are obtainable with ease making the built in 4K mode obselete. I dont use video (yet) so a camera with stills only and a lower price would be great.Otherwise the camera works well and thanks for supplying me with goodcameras for the last 11 plus years

The intelligent auto setting lets you get good shots straight out of the box, and like Panasonic`s compact cameras, you can ease yourself into using the more advanced features quite easily.Yeah, it`s a chunky beast, and the lens cap has a mind of it`s own, but it starts up quickly, and once it`s fired up, the lens doesn`t move when you zoom so it stays balanced in your hands.Whilst the 4k video footage is beautiful to behold, you have to bear in mind that the image stabilisation doesn`t operate at this resolution, so tripod, steadycam, or steady hands are your choices.Unless you fancy paying a grand more on a Sony RX10IV, it`s a great all-rounder,and my refurbished example is indistinguishable from new.

My FZ2000 almost does the job of my old ENG cameras. Almost. I love: The IQ. I can use up to iso 640 with absolute confidence, higher at a pinch. The ND filters. Open up the full range of apertures in all lighting conditions. The flexible wide range lens. Quality doesn't seem compromised in the usual zoom areas. Both HD & 4K images withstand intercutting with CSC & DSLRs. Shallow DOF is possible unlike many bridge cameras. Don't love: Not compatable with XLR-1 hotshoe breakout. The position of the headphone jack screws with the LCD. The lens is not parfocal throughout the entite range. The lens loses a stop and a half of light across range. The 4k cropping.

We own 2 of these bad boys as our B roll cams on wedding shoots,so far they have been amazing, in fact a few times the footage they have caught has been better than our GH5s,theres very little i can say is wrong with these, the only buggy aspect is the sleep function this can be really annoying when we have set them up in a church leave them for 10mins and they have switched off and lost the settings this is a slight overlook by panasonic to have the camera switch off and not remember the gain info or the F stop is poor, but thats all and that can be forgiven once you see the shots as for the stabilzer on 4k normally ours are on tripod or a gimble.

I love the picture quality in 4k, and I find the built in nd filters really useful. Also the pro grade video tools are excellent at this price range. The range of the lens is a real bonus, although it does struggle a little in low light. I initially thought it was too heavy, but it's great that I don't need to carry extra lenses. If I could improve it, I'd add 4k ibis and an extra card slot, to enable a back up recording to be made. This is the one big thing that stops it being a pro level camera. However I still think it offers great value for money. I'm happy using it as a "B" camera to my gh5.

After much huffing and puffing, I went over to the shop, The Camera Box, in Kettering and bought this along with a spare battery, and an ND variable filter as well. The step up from the FZ1000 to this is, well, astounding. I was amazed at all the things this unit had on offer.I am 100% satisfied and pleased with the FZ2000Adrian and his staff are also very pleasant and helpful indeed.Would I recommend this camera and shop to anyone?TOO TRUE I WILL AND WOULD.Their web site is very good too LOL.Thanks to Adrian, The Camera Box (Kettering), and Panasonic Lumix for this great FZ2000 camera :-)

Used for landscape, wildlife/nature photography, architectural photography, heritage railway photography, night/floodlight scenes at Christmas. heavy battery usage, especially if flash used. Stabilisation is very good. Can be tricky to decide which of the presets to use, there are so many. Touch screen means you can accidentally change the position of the auto-focus sensor in single point mode, leaving you wondering why it won't focus on the subject. Restricted exposure setting on some scene presets unhelpful. Overall a big improvement over it predecessor, the FZ50
