Okay, well for a start this replaces it's older sibling a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FT20, I purchased the camera in 2012 and to be honest it provided great service for four years of some really crappy conditions, Its actually still working, but their appears to be issues with lens flare and the colours appear flat, so onward to the FMT-30. I would like to point out that the FMT-20 even after four years of service and a full cycle on 40 degrees in the washing machine still works, just not as well,( the issues started prior to the full cycle wash).So far it's worked well, colours look good, switches on fast, same control systems as the FMT-20, the catches on the side don't seem to solid compared to the FMT-20,

For a cheap underwater camera this was perfect! Originally I was looking for cheaper than this but decided to up my price to ensure I got a better camera! Was perfect for the pool and sea on holiday, films and takes pictures well.I didn't take it diving or snorkelling so I can't say how the images would be for that but I used it at water parks and pool.Generally amazed me how it didn't need a case as the buttons don't look waterproof at all but everything worked GREAT!

Brought this for a recent holiday, used it on the beach, and in the pool. Didn't leak at all. Very pleased with the picture quality and it takes the picture instantly when you press the button. Very very impressed.Ignore any negative reviews, just keep the orange seal free from dust or sand and it won't leak. The kids loved using it too.

fantastic camera. great pictures and fully waterproof. Tough as been dropped a few times. For people who have asked. It does not float. If using in deep water, buy a float strap. good watertight locking system with a reminder to check when you turn on.

Bought this to take on holiday along with a big camera, wanted something small and waterproof to use around the pool and as it happened we also went on a boat trip so it went in the sea, took some good under water photos of the fish under the boat

Brought this for my gadget mad 12 year old! Easy to use and good quality photosEasy to download to laptop. Battery life good as wellIf your looking for a value for money waterproof camera without loads of tech stuff this is perfect

Purchased for our daughter who is 8 years old. Brilliant little camera which produces great results both in and out of the water. The battery life seems good so far - not needed charging yet after a full weekend away.

Bought this camera for my new baby arriving. Very easy and quick to use to capture the best moments! Also waterproof which I'm sure will be very handy. Not the best quality camera but decent for what you pay.

Great little camera nice and compact and easy to use, haven't tried it underwater yet so can't comment, wanted a small, easy camera to take down the beach and pool without worrying and this fits the bill.

Takes a great photo, was brilliant in the seawater. I teamed it up with a fujifilm float strap (which can also be worn as an armband) for a guaranteed no loss solution.

Its robust and takes pretty pictures as advertised. Amazing price. Always have loved lumix cameras. Perfect to take on summer holidays with watersports and beaches etc.

Minus one star for the inability to charge directly from the USB port rather than removing the battery to charge from the separate battery charging device.

It really does work underwater if you look after the camera well in between charging the battery and making sure no sand or water enters.

Great Photos, very compact, tough and waterproof. I used to be a Nikon Man, though Lumix is a great alternative.
