These are shaped like flying saucer sweets and are roughly the same size, so they won't fit in a domestic Nespresso machine. At work we have the Gemini model machine, and this fits it perfectly. Out of 10 cups made this week, only one pod was duff, but I was able to remove it from the bin drawer and reinsert it (it was perforated but the water came through it clear) and it made the same cup of coffee as with the others, so technically 10 out of 10 were good. We're charged forty pence for an original Nespresso capsule and have to buy a card at a minimum of twenty quid a time, scan it and a capsule gets released (in theory, doesn't always work), so this is a great buy at the price.I am happy to have this at any time other than first thing in the morning, as it's not quite strong enough for me. I need that real hit to wake me up, and this isn't punchy enough, though the flavour is smooth and there's a decent crema with this. I've tried it on Lungo setting and on Espresso setting and with the latter, it's still not strong enough for a morning cup. This is the third variety for the Gemini that I've tried from this brand, and I've been happy with taste and value for money. Recommended.

These pods are compatible with the Nespresso Business machines - these are different (and not compatible with the home ones) with the business one having pods shaped a bit like flying saucers. There tends to be less choice of flavours as well.In terms of compatibility, I compared it with the Nespresso Business Lungo Forte pod which is the obvious equivalent - apart from colour (pink rather than brown) they look the same and they fit into the machine with no problem at all.The result is pleasant... the coffee is smooth, not that strong but ideal for a coffee later in the day. Personally I prefer a stronger coffee in the morning and then this is quite pleasant mid-afternoon.There is a nice crema on top which does not suddenly disappear. Comparing it to the Nespresso I would say it is perhaps slightly milder, a little smoother but less creamy.I would definitely recommend trying this - flavour is of personal preference but it is definitely compatible and potentially a lot cheaper.

I suffer with a few mental health conditions and caffeine makes them worse so i have been drinking decaf for years now.The pods worked well in my office machine, but i just never find they come up hot enough. Quite strangely, it tastes better if you decant the coffee and use it in a cafitiere or a filter coffee machine. I have no idea why, i just dont think the nespresso machines brew the coffee long enough or hot enough. Through my filter machine it came up delicious. I also think that it tastes better if you do half and half with brewed coffee and hot milk. You can also do this with your coffee machine, just heat the milk and add your brewed coffee on top.Cost wise they are very good, they work out at 23p each. Pretty good value compared to coffee shops. Everyone that tried them in the office couldnt tell the difference between these and normal coffee which i think says a lot.I would buy these ones again.

Café Royal Espresso Decaffeinato Coffee Pads - Compatible with Nespresso Business Solutions - 300 g, 50 podsPlease note: these coffee pads are for use in Nespresso professional machines - the ones that cost hundreds of pounds and carry multiple cups on the top - so you won't be able to use them in your little home machine. See the online description for compatible machines. We do have a compatible machine at work, and I was very happy to try out these pods because I always can't normally drink caffeinated coffee and the company doesn't always provide decaff pads. The coffee has a really good flavour, smooth and rich and not too strong. I'm not a coffee aficionado, but I do enjoy drinking a cup of this coffee. This pad is for an espresso size but I don't like my coffee too strong anyway, so I top it up with extra hot water or milk for a larger cup.For sale at the time of writing this review at £14.99.

Well I kind of cocked up here because I automatically assumed Nespresso compatible which of course these aren't. These are for the 'Pro' machine which does not use a capsule. Instead these are more like the small disks with sherbet in them we used to love as children. Which makes me wonder why we have the capsule type instead of these because they taste the same but have much less waste. So, taste. Good. Just like a mid range cup of coffee made with reasonable grounds would taste. Nothing to get lit up about but a gazzilion miles away from the floor sweepings offered up as coffee in the instant jars. But, once again, you need a Pro machine for these and I had to wait until I got back to work to try them out having mistakenly thought they were home use.

I have spent several long-duration stays in hotels in France and got fed up of paying their rates for the coffee machines installed in the rooms - nine times out of ten they are Nespresso Business Solutions machines so I now travel with a few pods both to get my preferred flavour and save on the expense. These from Cafe Royal are - to my tastes - as good as anything from the original brand except perhaps some of their more recent single-origin options. The price is great and they are less wasteful in packaging than some of the pods on the market. This one is perhaps my second favourite of the Cafe Royale choices - Ristretto taking the top spot. But it's a close run thing and I'd happily have these if I didn't have the Ristretto available.

I tend to avoid decaff finding it tastes distinctly inferior to caffeinated coffee - however, when I discover one which I can't tell the difference I'm sold... that is the case here - fitting the nespresso business machines (they look like flying saucers rather than the more block-type pods of the home devices) these Cafe Royal decaff pods produce surprisingly nice coffee. It is graded 7/10 in terms of strength which is about right in my mind and has quite a bitter, deep flavour as you would expect for the espresso genre. The crema is good and lasts a long time, and although not quite as rich its Nespresso equivalent I think it's quite nice.Overall... good value, tastes nice and isn't going to keep you awake for hours.Recommended

The coffee pods from Cafe Royale have a strength rating of 7/10. Personally I put them a bit molder than that. I prefer reasonably strong coffer, my wife likes hers on the mild and she likes and doesn't consider them strong. They do have a decent coffee flavour, despite being decaffeinated. A drink my wife will have in the evening so she's not kept from sleeping later on. The pods themselves work fine in our Nespresso machine as do all those we've tried from Cafe Royale. The great thing about pods of course is there's no argument. I can choose a high strength pod for myself and for my wife a milder pod.Years ago when we used a filter machine we always had to have a negotiation before we we could make a pot of coffee.

My wife uses these Cafe Royal Lungo Coffee Pods at her office and she and her colleagues pretty much all approved of the taste. One lone voice apparently thought the coffee tasted too weak. But the other four and my wife all approved. My wife reports that it has a full coffee taste, not bitter but some what earthy. A point to note is that they all take their coffee with milk .....philistines!The pods themselves work perfectly well in the office Nespresso machine. No discernible difference from their usual pods. So in summary these Cafe Royal Pods are an excellent qualitative and value option for the office nespresso machine

My wife has used these in her office coffee machine, a Nespresso Zenius Pro. According to her and most of her colleagues there's no discernible difference in the flavour between these and the brand they usually use. That's to say they provide a full bodied espresso that's on the stronger side, but that's not overwhelming or bitter. Ideal for that morning boost. The pods themselves work as well as any brand she's used in their machine. OH and the one of her colleagues who did notice a difference from the usual brand though the coffee was still very nice...but just somehow different.

This is the third Nespresso-compatible tested from this producer and like the others it doesn't disappoint. It has a brightness and a somewhat beany top-note. Strength does seem to be comparable to the Nespresso 7 rating and the pods are decent quality - no problems with foil not piercing or tearing open.Just be sure to have the correct machine - the labelling on this product doesn't make it clear enough that they are smaller than the standard Nespresso pods, so don't get caught out.A good addition to the compatible range and recommended.

This is a case of first read the item description properly. I saw Nespresso compatible and got these , unfortunately they are not compatible with my Nespresso machine, and I don't know anyone who has the Business solutions machine. But I thought I would review the flavour of the coffee . So I opened up the capsule and put the coffee into a tea strains and poured water over it . I can say that while is a wholly inadequate way of doing it I did get an idea of how the coffee tastes and it isn't bad ,strong , a pick you up espresso .

This is the second variety I've tried, the other being the ristretto. TBH, I can't tell if there's much difference, as both produce a strong brew with a decent crema. Our machine has 3 settings: ristretto, espresso and lungo, and I've actually used both variety of pods on the lungo setting, and have been happy with both.I've not yet had a duff pod in the 30-odd that I've used, and I'd buy these over the 40p-a-cup branded pods. Very happy with these, as they're far, far cheaper than the branded stuff, at 24p each.
