To get a proper size mug-full of coffee out of a Dolce Gusto, I've had to use two caps until now, and it's still weak. I know these machines are meant for espressos and short coffee cups rather than British-style mugs, but considering these machines make bad tea and Nesquik too, a Venti shouldn't be out of the question. Clearly having the dial only go up to 7 was a design mistake, forcing them to have this new XL kludge. As I like a proper mug-full, I opted for the larger tank for fewer refills - the Melody 3 - and made the mistake of getting the Manual model, so making a three cap drink is a chore compared to just using instant coffee in a rush. I've failed to adapt to coffee cups over mugs,

I've given these 4 out of 5, because so far they are one of the better Dolce Gusto pods in the range, the 300ml cup size means a decent cup of coffee but it does have a certain twang to it still. Reasonable crema but overall still lacks bite. The best is the Dolce Gusto Dallmaye Crema d'Oro pods but to get those you need to go on to Amazon.de and get them from Germany, why Nescafe don't do them in the UK or even Amazon make them available on the UK website goodness knows!

I usually drink a 4-shot Grande Americano at Starbucks, so to get the same bold taste I used to use a couple Grande Intenso pods to make up a mug. But these new Preludio Intenso pods do pack a punch and am now able to use just one pod to get a nice bold cup.The packaging states intensity level of 7 and can make a cup of up to 300ml, my cups are about 300ml and the strength is good, but people who like an oversized mug may need to adjust accordingly.

Competitively priced on subscribe and save (15%) discount and increasingly I feel more Italian as far as my coffee consumption is concerned - strong and full bodied coffee, such as this product first thing, with Grande Mild for mid-morning and an espresso after lunch.Full bodied, strong and full of flavour, ideal for first thing in the morning, or for those with a desire for more bite in their coffee through the day.

I really enjoy this coffee and with the appropriate machine its quick and easy to make a cup first thing in the morning. Shame is that when it was delivered the guy just rang the bell and dumped the parcel on the step. Good job I was in otherwise I would not be able to make and taste the great coffee. To top it off the order on Amazon said "Parcel handed to resident" it certainly wasn't!!

Excellent coffee. The strongest I’ve discovered in this range. My most recent order was six boxes (96 capsules) and the amount of packaging was ridiculous. I’d like to be able to purchase a similar quantity without all the unnecessary packaging. One plastic bag in the outer box would be fine. Maybe even more capsules would fit, so maximising the available box space and fewer deliveries.

The best Dolce Gusto coffee in our opinion. Our family has tried every variety and type of the Nescafe pod coffees available in the last few years and, since its introduction, the Preludio Intenso has become the family 'go to' favourite pod.Strong enough to provide a good-sized mug of rich-flavoured coffee and smooth enough to be enjoyed black or white.

I always drink my coffee black, and want a robust flavour, with a smooth taste ... so far, this Preludio Intenso is one of the best coffee pods that Dolce Gusto make. Impossible to find in the shops, so was pleased to see them on Amazon.Each pod makes a big 300ml mug of deliciously rich and smooth coffee. I love it.

This isn't the first review I've left for Bold Morning Pods. They have been a bit difficult to find so jumped at the chance of ordering 3 x 3 boxes at £9 for 3. They will last me now for the next few months. I've tried most of the flavours but this really is my favourite - full of flavour and not bitter. Recommended.

I am very impressed by this coffee, it gives a combination of strength and flavour which suits me well, although friends do find it on the strong side (which was my main reeason for buying it). Definitely a daytime coffee, I would not nindulge too near bedtime.One last word: Do not over dilute

A larger drink with a good caffeine hit but without excessive bitterness. This coffee is smooth with hints of dark high cocoa chocolate and dried red berries. This makes the XL size drink but don't let that stop you by going again to top up to the brim of a mug. It's strong enough to take it.

This is an XL product so fills a very large mug. Almost too large - quite a jump in volume from the normal full setting. taste is quite strong and it's a good caffeine hit but not perfect. Slight difference between this and the Americano Intenso. Not sure which I prefer so get both!

Have been buying these pods for years from local supermarket, really happy to come across this supplier offering a better price and with further subscription discounts available. The flavour of the Americano Bold is brilliant and starts my day. Highly recommend. Buy with confidence.

I only had large mugs and resented (a little) having to use two capsules. I am not an OTT coffee connoisseur but this is a little bitter for me to be drunk without milk and a sweetener, for many it will probably be perfect. With my additions makes a nice large cup of coffee.
