Don't get me wrong, I love the Kong and so does my dog. But it doesn't keep my girl busy enough (15-20 minutes). Paste fillings are the best ones in Kongs for my dog, frozen ones are way too boring.I have a 5 month old GSD, and someone in a forum recommended this product to me. I looked for videos about it in YouTube and decided to give it a try. It came today and ran a quick test with some kibble (2 tablespoons). It kept my girl busy for 20 minutes. The last three pieces she couldn't get out of the Squirrel, but I think they were just a bit bigger than normal, I'm not sure, I need to run more tests like this. This evening I filled it completely and kept her busy for 30 minutes (somehow the pieces get out faster with more kibble inside). It could have lasted more because there was still food inside, but my girl got tired and decided to go lie down, which is in fact something I wanted to achieve. At the moment I'm feeding my dog with Josera Sensi Junior, which has around 1 cm diameter per piece. With larger kibble, one can always trim the prongs if the treats are released with difficulty. I would suggest to cut small pieces at a time and test it since one can't get the prongs back.Other interesting info about the Squirrel Dude is that it has a nice texture (kind of "peachy"), it smells good and doesn't taste awful like the Kongs at the beginning (yes, I do taste new things before giving them to my dog). Approximate measures are: 13 cm x 9 cm x 8 cm, and you can fill it with around 1/2 Cup of kibble. Since my dog already had experience with the Kong, she had no problem at all figuring out how to use this. Unexperienced dogs may have some trouble, so you should maybe help a bit at the beginning for a week or so.I recommend this if:-You need to keep busy or tire your dog.-You feed your dog at least with some kibble or if you use small solid treats.-Your dog is too fast with Kongs or gets bored with frozen ones.-You don't want loud and dangerous (for your house) food-dispensing toys.

Since my dog has taken issue with my sofa cushions recently I’ve been looking for something to keep his teeth out of the furniture. Medium sized Squirrel Dude has taken the brunt of my pup’s chewing and I’ve only had to pull him off the cushions once since he arrived. I have a non-stop 7 month old lurcher and he loves Dude so much he doesn’t even bother to eat the treats he drops. It’s made of good, tough bouncy stuff and the shape makes it shoot off in different directions which gets some of the beans my dog is full of out of him. The round shape makes it tricky for him to carry so when he drops it he gets to chase it around again. There are fine, rubber teeth inside to hold small treats but they’re far enough into Dude’s posterior that they can’t be chewed off. I’ve been using Coachies treats which fit nicely whilst falling out with a good bounce or squeeze but you could break up larger treats to go in there. In the top there’s a small hole to help the scent escape and would probably come in handy if anything gets stuck in there - pop a skewer through poor old Squirrel Dude for emergency surgeries.I’m sure now I should be able to get some housework done without my needy land-shark clinging to my cushions as soon as I try to wash a pot. Thank you, Mr Dude.

I bought these 6 months ago as wondered if the strips just inside would help slow down how fast they can eat the treats as most small dispensers have just an open hole so as soon as dogs move them, out, falls the treat. These make them work for them and is so much better and they enjoy it more. They happily play with this much longer than they do with usual dispensers.Last time I gave them the squirrels, one each filled with treats one of my dogs has put hers somewhere and we cannot find it so have just ordered another 3 to ensure they have them to play with and means can have some in the dishwasher and still some to use. They tend to just play with treat dispensers while there are treats in them but as it takes a while for them to get them all,so keeps them occupied without interaction from me as my two prefer to include me in their games so not often I can keep them occupied while I do something else. They are not great chewers so I cannot give an opinion on how long they would stand up to constant chewing but as treat dispensers I think they are brilliant and so do my two.

I have a kong and this and my pup loves both. This little guy is not only cute but my pup much prefers to play with this over the kong. The kong is just great because I can put peanut butter in it. This is great because it's a bit softer than the kong but still strong and it has a strong rubbery smell which for some reason is pleasing. Perhaps also for my pup. This comes with having 4 fingers of rubber sticking across the whole to prevent food coming out. As it is, it's pretty much impossible to get food out unless you either bounce it really hard or have very small treats so you'll need to trim it. Getting a scissors in there to trim isn't too difficult so long as they are small and sharp enough.Adjust for the food that you'll usually put in it as there's no going back after you cut it up. Either way, it will probably still not be too easy for the food to come out or if your dog is like mine, he'll play with it even without the food.

I've lived with a pack of Border Terriers for many years, and feel like we've tried out every dog toy which has ever been made!So often the 'tough' toys last a matter of minutes. The interesting toys soon become boring and ignored. But not so the squirrel dudes, they are an outstanding success!Every day they get played with. I fill them with Coachies treats, and the dogs take about 15 minutes of hard work to get the treats back out by turning, twisting and shaking them. After several months they are still in pristine condition.Fantastic dog toy. Highly recommend to exercise body and mind.UPDATE - we've had these nearly a year now. Still get played with every day, stuffed with low calorie treats.Still in great condition. Must be one of the best dog toys on the market.

I bought this for my sons presa canaro big dog, he loves it, its withstanding him chewing the hell out of it, he usually breaks toys, but these hes played with alot, he does however find it difficult abit to get the treats out as it has rubber bits help hold the treats in, he just chews the lot an that makes the treats break up in bits an seem to drop bits out.I was looking for a big enough kong but they seemed to be hard to find on Amazon, especially at a reasonable price, i came across this instead, i rate this better and very strong, unfortunately the presa got hold of my pups small kong an chewed it then it split,so it looks like i will have to buy 1 of these for my smaller dog.Theyre great and i would highly recommend

Purchased this along with the green elephant ball version for my boyfriends boxer and his sisters cockapoo. Once disagreements over who has which toy is settled, the boys absolutely love their Busy Buddy’s!Both dogs enjoy chewing and playing catch when toys aren’t being filled with biscuits and peanut butter, which is perfect for occupying them when foods around.Cockapoo often got frustrated with other toys as he didn’t enjoy picking them up in his mouth, and didn’t understand to bring toys back to be thrown again. However!! With the Busy Buddy he seems to have things all figured out and now very much enjoys a fun game of catch.Would recommend this product 100%!

I bought this to add to my Kong collection, to stuff and freeze to give my puppy in her crate. This is not work as a replacement for a classic Kong toy. The rubber is softer, and there are rubber prongs around the hole so any treats/food inside can't simply be licked out. This means I can't just stuff it and freeze it, but it turns out that's okay! Even though it didn't meet the requirements that I bought it for, it is still a fabulous toy, and my puppy will spend hours playing with it (picking it up, dropping it, throwing it, batting at it) in hopes that more treats will fall out, even when it's empty, so it's been a great investment that keeps her occupied!

Bought this for my Black Labrador who is a persistent chewer of his toys, tend not to last vey long at all, seconds usually. Have tried various other treat dispensers including the Kong wobbler which whilst I really like does not tend to last more than a few weeks as he eventually bites through the lid. This however due to the material has withstood his teeth very well so far. You can cut the prongs to suit, I have so far only cut them slightly smaller didn't want to make it too easy. He stays interested for a good long while, being a Labrador his life is all about food so he doesn't like to give up. Usually only end up with one last piece that he can't get!

We have two large Labradors who have their Bonio treats in their Kongs, to be fair the Kongs have lasted over 2 years and are used every day. I thought I would look for an alternative and found these, have to say I was a bit sceptical as our two can demolish most things pretty quickly! The are solid rubber, very robust, they do take a Bonio which is the devils own for the doges to get out, in addition the entrance to the 'squirrel' has flanges that you can cut back depending on what treats you will be putting inside. over a month on and they are standing up with no marks or splits to daily use and at over half the price of a Kong that has to be a result.

Is add a photo, but my dog is on a sleepover with my parents and wouldn't leave without it lol! I think that says it all! She is a 7kg cross terror/Daschund, so a small dog. She brings it to me at tea time and I then fill it with her chopped up complete dinner biscuits. She then toddles off with it, throwing it down the stairs usually, lol! We do this several times - she gets to work for her food, gets some exercise, but most of all, she loves it!It's not 'circular' like the puppy Kong, but shaped like a gerbil haha! But this is good because it moves in different ways and challenges her more.In my opinion, a great toy/trainer' all round.

I bought one of these each for my dogs as part of their Christmas presents last year and I can categorically say that even for strong chewers they are a hit, sometimes they just play with them anyway and it is fun the way that the toy randomly bounces which is probably due to its unusual shape. I have also played fetch with them in the garden with the squirrel. It is easy to add dry kibble or wet food treats to the aperture and suitably challenging for the dog to get out again. Our youngest dog bolts her food and using this a few days at a time slows her down. Almost a year on they still look good. 5/5 from me and my dogs!

My little monster destroys most toys within minutes, even those deemed "indestructible." That's why I don't like spending a lot of money on toys. I wasn't hopeful with this purchase, but it was cute and for the price I figured it was worth a shot.Wow! Even my dog can't destroy this thing. He absolutely loves it and it keeps him so entertained. It's great for keeping him busy this time of year when we can't spend as much time outside. My only gripe is the teeth makes it really hard for treats to come out. Like some of the other reviewers, I cut a couple out- which was no easy task given how strong the toy is!

My dog loves this toy. She owns both the Squirrel Dude and the Extreme Kong. She pretty much susses out how to get to the treats inside the Kong, within a matter of minutes. The Squirrel Dude is a little more complex and so more of a challenge - keeps her busy for much longer!Well made and durable. A must buy for bored or anxious dogs! Fortunately, my dog doesn't suffer from separation anxiety, but I would imagine this toy would prove to be an invaluable tool in such cases. The toy provides a welcome distraction for dogs, especially those who are food motivated. Really pleased. Thanks!

Bought this as an alternative to a Kong because, frankly, it's a lot nicer looking than Kong, but I'm so impressed with it that I don't think I'll buy a Kong ever again! My Staffy can destroy solid rubber toys within minutes, we've had this for a month now and it's still going strong. No signs of wear other than very small marks where she's chewed. She loves it so much she carries it around with her and even sleeps with it under her chin or in her paws. Would 100% recommend this toy for any other Staffy owners who are going crazy trying to find toys they won't destroy immediately!
