Bust-a-Move is up there with the greats of puzzle gaming - unfortunately, as with most others in the genre, the franchise has stagnated recently. Many regard Bust-a-Move 2 (which gained a VS mode over its predecessor) to be the definitive version of the game, with later sequels only offering updated presentation and some largely unsuccessful attempts at new gameplay mechanics.Bust-a-Move DS, though, breathes new life into the series, mainly thanks to the DS hardware. The slingshot-esque control system, using the stylus to aim the bubbles and then releasing to fire, is completely natural and just a hell of a lot of fun - it feels like it should have been on the DS all along. This version offers three main game modes - Puzzle,VS and Endless. Puzzle features 500 puzzles in groups of 10 (without the traditional Bust-a-Move puzzle map that was really just a throwback to the arcade versions - you can complete the puzzles at your leisure). The computer isn't very good at VS, so I'd recommend playing it with other people if at all possible - the game supports Download Play, you only need one copy. And Endless is self-explanatory - randomly generated bubbles, only stops when you cock it up.The music is pretty much perfectly suited to the game, although it's that sort of upbeat happy Japanese game music that seems to irritate everyone except the person actually playing, and the sound effects are the same as they've been since 1994. As for the graphics, the coloured bubbles are about as well-drawn as you could expect coloured bubbles to be, there's the usual cute character jumping around in the bottom right (including a few newcomers alongside the classic Bub and Bob), and a few static backgrounds featuring Bub in random situations.Anyway, in summary, this is the best thing to happen to Bust-a-Move in ten years, it's more addictive than it's ever been, it's brilliantly suited to the DS, and at just over a tenner you really should buy it.

Love this game!! It is a simple concept - you catapult the ball up the screen to clear the coloured bubbles but oh dear is it addictive!! Can waste many an afternoon on this!!! Easy to play at first but gets harder - a great game if you want something mindless to pass the time ( waiting at the doctors, for your husband to put up the shelves etc)to stop you stressing. I particularly like the fact it is a game you can pick up and put down as and when you like - no having to reach a certain level before you can come out and save. Recommend for ages from about 3 to (my age!!) 61 or over ( great way to keep Althzeimers at bay!!)

I was delighted to find this game had been released on the DS lite, mainly because I used to have it on another game format which has since died and gone to computer heaven. The game transaltes superbly, the touch-screen actually works properly, giving hours of addictive play with a game we have come to love very much. One of the upsides of this game is that the computer is a bit dim when it comes to the Vs mode, giving you a real chance of beating it, which is a great morale booster for those of us who are not computer whizzkids.Highly addictive, very playable, and very much reccomended for the DS!

I am a huge fan of games like Tetris, but this is up amongst the greats. The simplicity is brilliant and with the delightful Bubble Bobble characters, there is a huge familiarity to this game. I am hooked for hours on end completing all the different levels available. My only complaint is there should be more puzzle levels, however there is more then enough to completely run down the DS battery! Anyone who wants something simple, addictive and completable will love this test of speed and accuracy. For children and adults alike, this affordable game is for any serious gamer.

Brought this game for my wife to play as she loves Tetris and the like. Was a bit hesitant as i only brought it from reviews i read here, And not disappointed in the slightest, It's so adictive we haven't put it down and we like the fact you can use the scribe in fact it's far easier than the on board controls..If you want a simple no frills game that's a peach to play this is the one, When i say simple i mean the game play is easy but it can get fast and furious when it wants.

I have always loved this classic game, from spending hours & pounds in arcades when I was younger.Good for puzzle-lovers and extremely addictive. The use of the stylus is OK, you need to tap on the "bobble" and drag it down to catapult it. This does make aiming a little tricky and I kinda miss the old D-pag or even joystick controls. However, this doesn't take much out of the enjoyment of the game, so I would completely recommend it.

For you parents out there with an 8yrs old with a DS this game is a must, no frustration on unable to complete levels, they just direct bubbles with their syles to attatch to other bubbles, then when you get three or more of the same colour they pop - aim is to clear the screen. Fun!!!! and best of all not £29.99 as most DS games are. TOTALLY ADDICTIVE and that's just for us parents when we get a go!

I have a game like this on my mobile phone so decided to get it for my ds.its simple and easy to play and you can choose a different character to play with each time but it does not seem to save were you have got to as you do not have a profile.it arrived in time scale and was as described.

This really is an addictive game, there isn't really a story you just play it, very easy to learn. The first time I played it for hours and hours, but had to stop because the battery was running low. Be warned it is very addictive.Still a great game for the DS :)

I played this game on a pc and when my daughter bought me a ds I looked for bust a move. I recently had a stay in hospital after surgery and this game relieved the boredom, as I recuperate at home I find I am still playing and enjoying. My best purchase this year.

Really addictive and very enjoyable, even my daughter loves to play. You can choose which character you want to be easily. Its just a shame there are no added hidden games or more to play. But on the whole very enjoyable. Not too hard.
