I was a huge fan of the first two Broken Sword games on the PS1 years ago and haven't really played anything since that matched them. The blend of beautiful graphics, fantastic puzzles, adventure story line and humour really worked for me. Sadly this kind of game seems fairly rare and most games on the market favour action over thinking. The third in the series was disappointing and the change of visual style and the lack of decent interaction spoiled it, so much so that i didn't bother with the fourth! So it's a pleasure to say that Broken Sword 5 is a real breath of fresh air and a return to the qualities that made the first two games in the series so enjoyable. It's very much like the originals but with more refined graphics in HD.For those who have never played any in the series it is essentially a point and click adventure game where you solve puzzles often by using objects that you have picked up along the way. Sometimes objects will be used in an obvious way but other times you have to think outside the box. One or two of the puzzles are quite tricky and might require a pad and pen.You control George and Nico as they attempt to solve the mystery behind a shooting in an art gallery. You interact with other characters and sometimes you need to find ways to extract information or actions to progress the story. As before you get to travel to various locations across the world often meeting characters that featured in the original games! If i had to find fault i would probably say that the story in the original games was perhaps a bit stronger and the ending seemed a little rushed but overall it was an enjoyable experience and for the price it's an absolute bargain. Old fans and puzzle solvers should not hesitate to get this!

They've done an an excellent job of bringing Broken Sword to the Switch, crisp and clear graphics just as it should be, the game is an essential adventure game, of all the Broken Swords' this is my 2nd favourite to the original, although this has the best graphics by far.The game has multi language options for audio and text, and as you play the game you unlock "Behind the Scenes" videos about the production, history and development of the game. Also if you are ever not sure what to do when playing the game, there is a Hint button which gives you clues on what to do next, which you can keep using in case you're ever stuck on a puzzle which is handy. This is my fave Switch game released to date, hopefully they release more Broken sword soon on Switch.

If you are a Broken Sword fan this shouldn't disappoint. Beautiful animation, vibrant colours, excellent storyline and funny dialogue. George & Nico return for another adventure in this latest game. The puzzles are great if sometimes a little tough, but there's nothing worse than having easy peasy puzzles in games. Only niggle I have is that some of the dialogue between characters can be a little longwinded & I found myself X-ing like mad to cut it short. Other than that... perfect! For me these are the best point & click adventure puzzles and none can beat it. Hurry up and make a 6th please!

Great adventure game, I am a huge Broken Sword fan and was nice to see it finally come to PS4, I played Broken Sword 5 on my ipad also, great graphics, good story, good quality puzzles, and priced very well this is much more of a game than 90% of the crap out there.I'd really like to see an updated Broken Sword 1 on PS4, all redrawn into 1080p.Also would have like to have been able to control the character by using the right thumb stick. The box art and back of the box doesn't sell the game well enough either I thought. don't overlook this game - if you like adventure it's a must.

The first thing you'll notice about this superb collection is its oversized 'big box' that's reminiscent of the 90s era of gaming, housing an impressive collection of Broken Sword goodies. The artwork on the box itself is great and the comics and artbook are a nice addition. Broken Sword 5 is not DRM free and does require steam activation, however all the other games in this set (on their own DVD) are completely DRM free (I already own the games and purchased this purely as a fan). The extensive soundtrack CD for Broken Sword 5 is a nice addition too. I would highly recommend this set.

I love point and click adventure games, and this latest instalment of the Broken Sword series was a good addition. Lovely visuals which had a semi-3D, almost rotoscoped feel to them. Good puzzles that required thought, but didn't have you tearing your hair out. I'd have given it 5 stars, but I felt it was a little short, and the game as a whole felt more like a series of set-pieces rather than a whole adventure...

A pleasure to revisit the retro style point and click mystery, with the fantastic watercolour look graphics. So used to manically running around in the modern era of games that it is lovely to just chill and appreciate the detail in each scene, with the new Broken Sword game. Challenging puzzles just draw you in to the story. Would recommend if you want a change and want to...slow down.

Got this as a birthday present, and I was not disappointed. As a fan of the series, I was glad to see this come to the PS4 as I don't have a PS vita. The graphics are great, the puzzles challenging and fun. The classic Broken Sword humour is ever present throughout, and all in all a great addition to the franchise. The only minor criticism is the reasonably short length of the game.

Old but good. I have done AND enjoyed the first 4 prequels, I don't like shoot-em-ups (and I am no good at them). I like take "all the time in the world", think about it and get it right if I can, games. I also like the graphics, the story line and the humor. Please REVOLUTION SOFTWARE Ltd, can there be a 6th one even if the subject story line is different?

Nice slower paced gaming game experience. A fan of the series, the locations, puzzles, quirky humour, characters and this one lived up to the rest for me. Quite addictive as well. A good game to break it up from all your typical fast paced games cod, bf1, Fifa etc..good for chilling out wish mor games like this for PS4

Big fan of point and click adventure games. Loved the Broken Sword games and have played them all. This is one of the better Broken Seord games and one of the best point and click games you can buy. Voice work and writing is fantastic as always and the artwork is great. Hope for more games of this quailty.

It's one of the best adventure game series of all time and it's great that it's finally getting out to a wider audience on the PS4. The story is very interesting and the characters are well fleshed out, the puzzles are good and the voice acting is top notch, overall it's an excellent game.

Having played the first 2 broken sword titles whilst growing up I felt that this was a good game although not up to the incredibly high standard of 1 & 2. The game was enjoyable & managed to keep my mind ticking over whilst trying to pass lockdown in a productive manner.

Having played all the other games in the broken sword collection i was quite excited to see that the 5tth one had come out on ps4 . Just this minute recieve the game cant wait to get started. I just really really wished they'd bring em all back on ps4. Iam such a fan

If you've played and enjoyed all the other broken swords in the series, this will be exactly as you expect.I don't suppose there's much else they can do with a point and click game but if you didn't know this could easily be on the ps2. Still enjoyed it though.
