A very style conscious umbrella. I had to return it though, as I live on a seafront and really need the strongest, stormproof umbrella there is! Anything else and over the years I've learnt to my cost, there is no point! I bought this umbrella as the seller had listed it as 'stormproof' but after I ordered it I went on the Blunt website and saw that this particular make isn't their stormproof version, (that's another one). This is however, sturdier than your normal everyday umbrella and definitely a cut above most. I knew however from the moment I opened it, that it would not suffice for my area, mainly from the feel but also how the spokes were attached to the fabric - I know I need sewn seams along the spokes and these were attached by quite flimsy looking pieces of cotton thread.I liked the design and the colour and especially the fact that the ends of the spokes are covered and incorporated into the 'canopy'. Nice and neat - and much safer for crowded areas - It is good for its target audience - It's in the name - Metro. Not for gale swept seafront roads. The packaging it comes in (tube) is also very stylish but I can't help feeling that all those design details have added to the rather high-price and not necessarily the practical function. A lovely 'lifestyle object' and definitely for style conscious urban dwellers who have to carry one of those clumsy objects called umbrellas!

After an immediate failure of a PLEMO umbrella, I took a chance on the extra cost and ordered this one in November, 2014. It has worked dependably in rain and wind ever since. I especially like its compactness; I can even stuff it into a rucksack. The handle is short, as some reviewers complained about; however, I adapted to carrying it by the handle braced near my collarbone and the shaft touching the side of my head. That works for me. Eliminating the "pointyness" of the supports and tip is an example of excellent design.UPDATE June 13, 2020. I am seeing many negative reviews but 5 years after my purchase it's still five stars.I agree that in a heavy downpour with any wind your legs won't be protected but if you need complete protection then you simply need a larger dome. I still use it in rainy western Oregon and it shields my head and upper body. Its compactness, durability, and blunt tips are what I value.

So far, this umbrella has survived and excelled in Boston and more rural parts of Massachusetts. I've used it through days with moderate wind, and it's held its shape, and I expect that it will continue to do so. Size-wise, it's great for one person, though I'll mention I'm on the shorter side. The handle of the umbrella is a little small and might be a little too short for taller people. The push button that releases the umbrella is also very handy, and opening the umbrella is effortless. The umbrella comes with a fabric case, and it's very easy to get the umbrella in and out of it. The only possible downside is that the umbrella when collapsed is not super compact. It's about a foot in length, which is a little larger than other collapsable umbrellas I've owned. Other than that, however, it's an excellent umbrella and one I'd recommend.

I love, just love this thing. It doesn't have the horrible pointy tips other umbrellas do I'm always cautious of because I worry I might get a cornea scratched or something. Not to mention the no-pinch slide slide system is great, and more importantly you can use it with gloves on easily. Nothing is harder than picking between warm or dry.Perfectly sized for 1 person and highly compact as well.Haven't had the winds yet to test how it would handle being forcefully turned inside out by nature but I did invert it by hand to see how it works and it snapped back good as new.My one complaint is that the price is a bit high but considering everything on the umbrella itself is perfect I consider it a good investment. My friends love it and are jealous of it as well.

What a beautiful umbrella! I never thought I would use that description on an umbrella; but the Blunt is beautiful. Both from an engineering standpoint, and as a useful object. The material construction is excellent, and the function is smooth and consistent. I had a chance to use it in a real heavy thunderstorm this weekend, with high winds and all the fun stuff, and it was only after it was over, that I realized I had never once thought about my umbrella. I didn’t think about how it was keeping me dry, or how the wind might turn it insides out, etc. That is a great device; one you don’t have to think about, because it does it’s job without your attention. If you want an umbrella that you will not have to think about, then this is a worthy investment.

This thing is awesome. Rugged, study, well thought out. Yes, it costs more than a drugstore throwaway, but it'll be the last umbrella you need.It seems the biggest complaint others have had is with the size. This is just large enough to cover your head and shoulders. Just yours. The person next to you is on their own. For walking in a city, where there are always things for the umbrella to hit or catch on, it's perfect for one person. But, if that isn't a concern, or you want enough coverage for two, go for the larger size. But, as always, you get what you pay for. If you constantly lose things, or just want an umbrella for one trip: get the $5 drugstore umbrella. If you want an umbrella that will last the winter, and winters to come: get this one.

I like the over all quality of this product. This is good quality umbrella. It operates fine. But I recommend buy bigger size. I am not big guy but hard to cover me if its rains.I found one small broken part after warranty period. I am living at the California so I didn't have a chance to use this umbrella in the rain for almost one year. I found the one broken part (defect) after I first use it in the winter rains (December 2017). I bought this Jan. 2016. I contact them but they do not even offer selling a part. They asked contact main Blunt company. Be sure to find not even small defect parts before use. I received parts from Blunt company(April 2017).Thank you for the good customer support.

It's about time I bought one of these. I recall seeing them many years ago- probably just as they were released and decided that if I needed an umbrella, I would get one of these. I am one of those people who tend to duck and weave from other peoples umbrellas as pointy bits get close to my face. I have only used it a couple of times so far, but am very happy with it. It fits in the side pocket of my car, and inside my shoulder bag when cycling to work. Apparently, so my friends tell me, it costs more than regular umbrellas, (I didn't really take that into account), but I don't particularly care. I like the design, I like the technology, and I take great care with my belongings.

I carry umbrellas in and out of the car every day, multiple times a day in my job. None of them lasted long before the ribs started poking through the fabric, making the umbrella unusable and downright dangerous. I tried sewing them back which never worked. Then I read about the Blunt umbrella, and the reviews it got. If you look at the picture, the areas where the ribs end on the outside part of the umbrella are specially designed so they don't poke through the fabric! These are pricey, but when I added up the cost of all the Totes umbrellas I had bought, it made sense to pay more for quality. I loved mine so much that I bought two!

It's funny, the little things that can help support a long term relationship. When my wife mentioned that her current umbrella (inexpensive keep in the car type) had finally broke down, I looked for a better, more reliable umbrella with cost not being the primary focus. Reviews on-line narrowed the search to a few brands, all of which seemed to fit my criteria, but the Blunt XS really appealed to me because of its strength, durability, extra protection on the nubs when many of my failed umbrellas disintegrated ends, and the reports from other users. Besides, after 46 years of marriage, I do know her favorite color. She was thrilled.

For 30 years I've traveled short distances for work, constantly driving here and there. I need an umbrella. I've gone through 5 or 6 umbrellas a year, for years... I lose them, forget about them, they break on me, and I figure a few of them find their way into someone else's hands. So including umbrellas from college days, I'd guess I've been through a couple of hundred. The Blunt Metro IS my FAVORITE. Sturdy, ergonomic, well designed, functional, elegant.... I really like this umbrella. I like using it... I like it so much that it helps me remember to keep track of it. I've given 3 as gifts...

My husband has such an umbrella for a long time. During this time, I have broken four umbrellas with metal spokes. So I decided to buy Blunt too. It is expensive, but it will work out its price from a long service. The umbrella is made of very high quality materials. It has one drawback: the XS Metro folding umbrella has a small dome diameter. Pros: lightweight, elegant, great comfortable snake case, large selection of colors. All specifications correspond to reality. Highly recommend. Have fun with your stuff.

If you want an umbrella that'll put up with a lot of wind this isn't it. If you're rivaling the Incredible Hulk for shoulder width, this isn't it. If you think you and your sweetie will cuddle together and be bone dry after Hurricane Bezos (or the like) passes over, then, again, this ain't it.But for city dwellers who want something light to go in a man-sized briefcase or big purse this might well be it. It is for me knowing that it's not a Gust Buster, a golf umbrella, or big enough to fight off muggers.

I probably have 5 Blunt umbrellas. I love that they are super lightweight and durable and have no pointed ends. More importantly, I have not had one break on me yet!Call me crazy, but I let my 5 y/o use this for school because it's easy to carry (and stash in his bag) and very easy for him to put up and take down without pinching his fingers. I suppose that is the real test of durability because my son has been using this for almost 4 months and he hasn't broken it yet!

This is a fantastic umbrella. It has held up in the worst weather Ohio has thrown at me since I bought it. It never goes inside-out and the ends stay securely attached. Rain water falls off of it with a quick shake, so it dries almost instantly which means it doesn't soak my car or bag.One note is that this IS a very small umbrella, and is really only suitable for one person. That said, when compacted it isn't much smaller than a larger one that 2 people could share.
